“Derek” calls from this number as well as other numbers and talks very vulgar and nasty.  He sounds Nigerian or Jamaican. He likes to speak in a homosexual voice and tells me of all the vulgar things he wants to do.  I think hisbis the same guy who always wants to repair my HP computer.

Perhaps stick to the details of what the scam was about and try keeping your personal "relations" out...ew.

Call received 01-18-19 at 12:47 p.m. from person who sounded possibly Indian or Asian.  Advised he was from Dish and needed to replace my Dish control boxes.  Advised if I failed to replace them, I would lose my TV signal. After going along with this SCAM for sometime, I advised caller I did not have dish but cable TV. Caller then became angry and accused me of taking upon his valuable time.  Caller then began to swear at me and at that time I hung up.  Name that appeared on Caller I.D. was ELSHEKHA  ESSAM, phone number 1-201-333-3474. Without question a SCAM ...

My caller ID did not show a name.  Foreign sounding caller said he was calling from "satellite dish service dept."  The phone number was for Dish Network, but in this case I believe the number was spoofed because they hung up when I said I didn't have Dish.  Wouldn't the real company then try to sell me Dish if I didn't have it?   It sounded alot like the old refund scam where they attempt to get your banking information.

Male caller, middle eastern accent, said he was from Dish network and that people in my area are experiencing satellite problems and that he could help if I gave him my receiver number, he even guided me on how to retrieve same.  I was suspicious from the start but decided to play along, when he asked for receiver number again, I asked him what my name was and what was the street address was on the account.  He mumbled something like an address and someone else's name.  Asked him not to call back and hung up at this point.

Caller ID said Dish Network. First time calling me. I answered to deter repeated autodialer calls and immediately told the caller firmly but in a courteous manner, "I'm not interested. Thank you." Caller had a very pronounced accent but I'm pretty sure he said "Go f*** yourself" before hanging up on me. Looks like I'm not the only person who's been cursed at by recent callers from this number/call center.  :/

Caller ID said "anonymous". Did not leave a message.

I made the mistake of answering the call because I do have Dish TV.  The yahoo on the other end sounded so official about sending a tech to my place to update the Satellite that I almost believed him.  By the time he got to my going to the Hopper and giving him the Receiver Number, I decided that it was fishy and started asking questions.  He yelled at me, "Check your Caller ID!" and then yelled "F*** you!"  I contacted Dish both on Chat and on the phone and made it clear that I would not be moving or be ordering Dish for anyone else.  If this number is from a legitimate Dish number, it seems odd.  The Dish people I talked to and chatted with all seemed to think it was a scammer.

WARNING!!!!  This is a legit number for Dish INCOMING CALLS only.  It is being spoofed by foreign scammers who claim to be with Dish and want information about your equipment.  Dish would never do that as they already have your equipment information.  Tell him for security purposes to annotate your account and you will call Dish to be connected back to him.  He will hang up on you.  They are scum bags.

CID:V22318090300011. They have called twice today, but they don't leave a message, so it's not important. Other posts say that it's DISH. I have never had DISH, so it's a scam.

Supposed call from Dish network. We have always had cable, never Dish, so I know it's a scam. Especially when the two previous calls right before were solicitation calls for bogus charities for policemen (863-869-3061) and fire fighters (810-657-1394).

2ND call in 2 days.  No message left.

This number called once today.  No message was left.  Based on the analysis above, I will block this number, should they call again.

I've received numerous calls on my cell phone from 800-333-3474. I've never picked one up, and they've never left a VM. Today I decided to google the number, and here I am! Glad I've never picked up, and now I never will.

I do have Dish, but they usually contact via email. They always leave a message.  This is their customer service number, but  it could be spoofed.  I had a call about a week ago from 888-333-3474 which is not their number but close enough, almost fooled me.

This is DISH. I did not call them. They called me. They are on my Federal and State DO NOT CALL list.

Gee, did you stop and think that scammers might be spoofing a well-known number to appear legit themselves?
