Apparently the "DoNotCall registry /  DO NOT CALL LIST" does not work. It is a broken system that offers no protection. By adding your number to the "Do not call list", you are essentially giving your phone number and personal information to a system that offers very little protection of your data. I am sure the Do not call lists have been compromised, probably for a long time now. Don't trust or use the so called "do not call list"

Heads up anyone with DISH TV. Received a "phishing" call from someone saying they were DISH, caller ID was one of Dish's # 800-333-3474 (hacked? cloned?), but not their main #. They said "Dish Satellites had been re-positioned and they needed to replace my receiver, customers were complaining loss of signal", black screen, etc. Wanted ser # from my receiver, how many receivers do you have, la de dah? REALLY? Uh, you should have that info. You installed my equip! Long story short, I did NOT provide any info and contacted DISH fraud dept @ 866-310-8052. Share with your friends that have DISH.

Another person who has never heard of Caller ID Spoofing.  You should look it up.

this guy called me a b------, MF----- and some other names. He called the house at 9;55 pm and ask me if i am using the dish. These people are abusive. Tell me who they are. I will deal with it from there!

This phone number called a church!  All they said was, "Can you hear me and hung up on me!"  Most rude individual!  They gave no name, identification of company--just hung up!  I am very suspicious this is a legitimate caller!

Been receiving one to two calls per day for the past several weeks.  The caller always leaves a "dead air" message and then hangs up.  According to GetHuman.com, this is a legitimate customer service number for DISH.  So I called and spoke to a polite enough rep who claims that DISH does not solicit over the telephone, so it must be someone "spoofing" me and there wasn't anything she could do about that.  I then asked if I had reached "800-333-3474" and she replied yes, so I said than this "spoofer" has to be calling from DISH because how else do I know your number?  Suddenly, this rep found a supposed way to add my telephone number to their marketing's DO-NOT-CALL list, but she said it could take up to 30 days to take effect.  Then the rep fell back on her original tag line about if I continue to receive calls after 30 days, then it's not DISH and there is nothing that they can do.

If DISH does not solicit by telephone why does their "marketing department" have their own DO-NOT-CALL list?

For all the good it does, I am reporting this to FTC.

You need to learn about caller ID spoofing. For the callers, it's as simple as typing in the name and number they want to appear as to the phone receiving the call. Thus when you call the number you saw in caller ID, you do not necessarily get the person or company that placed the call. With scammers, you NEVER get the caller by using caller ID. This is a huge problem currently in the national news, with billions of spoofed calls targeted to US residents annually. Dish is OK, the DNC list is OK, it's Caller ID that's broken.

A scammer who is spoofing the same number repeatedly! How quaint! I gather the scammers are spoofing a valid Dish phone number.

Dish Network may work for you, but we: 1) don't have a dish; 2) have never wanted a dish; 3) have never initiated any contact with Dish Network; and 4) are on the DNC registry--so getting calls every few hours from these people is the antithesis of "customer service." It's customer annoyance, and it's illegal!

Very heavy Indian accent.  I really could not understand them.  I kept asking him to repeat himself.  He said something about analyzing my receiver.  He kept telling me to push the menu button for my TV 3 times.  I told him I did that.  Then he asked me what the model was.  I gave him some bogus information.  He said that is strange.  THen he asked me to hit the HOME button or HOUSE button.  I told him I live in an apartment and not a house.  He then said NOT, the HOME button on the remote.  I kept up the banter back and forth for a good 6 minutes.  Then, he said he was going to place me on hold and pass the information to his IT department.  I then hung up.

Dish?  Who knows.  Bad karma. Fraud or whatever by someone using 970-691-4338.

Same number has called 3-4 times per week for the past few weeks.  BLOCKED after the 1st call.  SOS JDD.

Have received numerous calls from this number which I did not answer.  It was blocked after the third time since no message was left.  If it was a legitimate call some kind of message would have been left to explain the nature of the call.  When the number was blocked the phone does not ring when that number calls.  I can scroll through the Caller ID list to see who called and that number shows up.

It is most likely a spoofed Caller ID.  They can make the Caller ID show anything they want.  It might look like a legit number so when you call back you will get the company associated with that number.  However if you answer the call you will get the scammer.  The spoofed number can even show as your own number.

CID showed "DISH".  I never answer unknown calls or calls from places I have no business with.  They didn't leave a message and this number 800-333-3474 (undoubtedly spoofed) is now blocked.-
