- dpI'm getting the calls too. When I answer, it's a pre-precorded greeting that is cut off in mid-sentence. It does not identify who the caller is but asks you to hang on and wait for a representative to come onto the line to assist you.
First of all, that irks me to no end. They called me, not the other way around. If you want to talk to me, be on the line and ready to speak to me. Don't ask me to hold.
I've been having billing difficulty with them since January of 2009. I've asked them repeatedly to fix their billing but no one has ever been helpful. I renewed a contract with them and was told by their customer service representative that without long-distance and texting my bills should be around $60.00 per month. My first bill was $120.00. I later found out that they charged me for first and last month... so essentially I pre-paid my service. That information was given to me by a loyalty rep last march. The second bill was $110. The third was $111.00. There were no long distance charges, no texting messages - nothing that would esculate my bill from $60 to over $100.00. When I make inquiries, never got a straight answer, no one fixed the problem. With my credit rating in balance I paid the damn bill. Immediately I contacted the Ombudsman of Ontario. I wasn't really sure where to start. That was the wrong office to contact but they gave me an agency to contact to launch a complaint instead. It was an agency where I was able to launch my complaint by filling out an online form. It was a series of questions. Many asked me what the complaint was so I typed out the complaint. I finished the form, clicked on submit and was given a message that they didn't understand the complaint. I filled it out over and over again with only the same message in the end. An acknowledgement e-mail was sent to my e-mail account letting me know that they received my form but didn't understand the complaint. It was one of those do not reply e-mails. I wasn't offered any other means of contacting them. I began to suspect that this was a Bell Mobility run complaint department and not a government run agency as I was promised.
As time goes by, my monthly bills hover around the $90 - $95 per month region. Still no activity on my account that would justify this amount. Still I pay hopeful of some recourse from that agency I sent my complaint to (and yes, I still tried to rectify this will Bell too). This went on for about 2 years. Suddenly my bills started to come in between $70 and $80 per month. Still a far cry from the $60 I was told it would be.
Last spring the Loyalty department called me. I launched my frustrations at him and while on the phone he went over my billing. He agreed that there seemed to be a problem. Long ago I stopped using my data plan on the phone and I only received and sent about 4 text messages at about 15 cents a pop. I told him that I feared they were charging me over and above our agreed data plan but he assured me that this wasn't the case. I asked him to remove it anyway and he did. He also agreed to lower my monthly bill to $45 per month. This was still outrageous considering that my sister was given a contract with all the bells and whistles and a data plan for the same amount but it was still better than it was. That was when I found out that my first bill with them for $120 was first and last month payment. He was the first representative to offer me that explanation. No one else was willing to give me any explanations for billing.
He took me off contract and put me on a month to month plan. He told me there would be no penalties for this. He told me that because I had paid first and last and that I was in the middle of a billing period, my invoice would be prorated in my favour and that my next bill would be for $45 plus around $8 dollar proration. Needless to say my next bill was for about $300.00. I called the billing department once again. They had charged me a penalty for breaking contract. They agreed to remove that but my correct bill came to around $160.00. Still a far cry from $45 + $8.
My bills still come at me at wonky amounts each month. Last month I went to another provider. I called Bell first. I asked them what my outstanding balance was and they quoted me $122.00. I had just paid $50 that morning on-line and knew they hadn't seen that payment yet so I deducted that from my total. Plus the fact that I knew I didn't owe that amount to begin with. A few days later I received a bill for $180.
I've contacted the office of Bob Rae but I doubt he will do anything. No one else has helped me so far. In the meantime Bell holds my credit rating hostage and I fear that they will continue to bill me even though I am no longer a customer.- Caller: Bell Mobility

- Tadalala replies to FatUncleNot really - I took an Information Management course, and that was a long time ago. At that time, it cost an average of $7 to generate 1 paper document. Which is why most companies want to go paperless as much as they can.
So it so-n-so wants to create a headache for them, then its possible this would do it. Although granted, he could of paid less for the same thing to happen.
And obviously, they should spend a little money updating their files - computer automation at its best, lol! - Max Foote| 1 replyI received a call from 8003612613 - this was Bell Aliant Account Receivable. When I answer it is sometimes a recording.

- CandeeI'm not sure who this 1-800-361-2613 is or what company is calling me, but it is indeed very annoying to say the least. I am a student and this number keeps calling me every 15 minutes or so. I do have a voicemail and if they wish to talk to me then PLEASE leave a message that is what a voice mail is for!
Another thing, I am currently with Bell as they seem to provide the somewhat best data plan compared to Rogers/Fido and Telus...as I have been with the other companies before as well, but indeed Bell has called me MANY times before since apparently I was late on a payment, but since they don't physically MAIL you the bill and instead they EMAIL it to you. So basically they called to rush me to pay for my February-March bill but the problem was I. DID. NOT. RECEIVE. ANY. EMAILS. FROM. BELL. so how in the world was I supposed to know that my payment was due? Now the number that I got from Bell when they called me was 1-800-667-0123. Unless Bell has more than one number that they call from? I don't know...but definitely, I would LOVE to find out who this 1-800-361-2613 is...plus! Another weird thing is that I had talked to a Bell representative to let them know that I would like to block ALL long distance calls yet I still get this number calling me...WHAT IS THIS?!?!??!- Caller: Unknown
- DudeI just got a call from 1-800-361-2613, and I never pick up unknown calls, so I left it to go to voicemail. The voicemail is an automated recording, as follows:
"Hello, this is a very important call from Bell Mobility for "the account holder" regarding your wireless account. It is important that we speak to you ASAP. Should you need our address, it is 5099 Creek Bank Rd, Mississauga, Ontario. Just speak to a representative. Please call us at 1-800-361-2613 ASAP. Thank you for choosing Bell Mobility. Goodbye."
I am not even a Bell customer, and have NEVER had ANY dealings with Bell. This is clearly some sort of scam or mistake, but the whole call just seemed fishy, as I've never had any dealings with Bell before, in my life. I don't even know why they would have my number, unless it's a random dial thing and this is a scam. This is the first time I've gotten this strange call, hopefully the last.- Caller: Bell Mobility

- AndreaI received a phone call twice today to call this number. I called, and it was Bell's Accounts Payable Department. I spoke with an agent and he told me that my last few credit card payments haven't been going through, however, on my account they appear to be working, and I approve all my transactions (I don't have automatic withdrawal or anything).
Not really sure what is going on, but he said that if I pay this months bill, the calls will stop.
If I get called again, I may require a new mobility provider...- Caller: Bell
- blakkattI get calls from this number 3 to 4 times a day including just before 8 A.M. even on Saturdays. I mute it and let it ring on silent. I never answer calls I don't recognize. If they are a legitimate caller they will leave a message. If they don't leave any message then they won't be talking to me. I don't care who they think they are.
- Caller: Don't know, don't care
- FuriousI have been receiving calls from this number repeatedly, twice during work meetings, and it was hanging up every time like others have complained. I phoned Bell's main line (800-667-0123), and after talking to a gentleman I find out now that the account has been past due because they received no payment last month (No idea why, they have my credit card which has plenty of room???).
He transferred me to accounts receivables a moment ago, where I was put on the line with a woman that I couldn't quite comprehend her name through the mumbling. After I told her that I would have to have a conversation with my bank about the payment not going, she said, "I will put on the account that you have two days to make the payment. Is that it?" I said, "No, I was wondering why the other call kept phoning and hanging..." And before I could finish my sentence, she cut the line. Once again, I have been hung up on by Bell Mobility, this time mid-conversation. Needless to say, I am furious.
This is bordering on ridiculous. On one hand, I understand that they need payment for the account, though I'm not sure why they didn't get it in the first place, but that could be a personal or bank error. Whatever, no big. But to hang up on me when I finally get through to a person? Unbelievable.- Caller: Bell Mobility

- JohnI also have a contract with a non related provider so I am on my way to cancel my bell service. if you have a history of not paying.....ok. But I have a great record of paying so they just lost a customer. When will these companies wake up. I left ROGERS who were the worst company i have ever dealt with. The people they hire are rude idiots.
