Btw, can someone tell me why a collection agency doesn't do their business in writing? I'm sure if I owed Bell any money, they'd send me an official notification in writing, not by phone. Further proof that this is a scam.

I started a new job in June 2016, and this number keeps calling my office desk.  How do they even know that number when it is not advertised except internally with the corporation I work for?  No voicemail message is ever left.  Why can't the police get involved?

They were calling me 4 and 5 times a day. Super annoying. I was behind on my bill but just barely. And I have been a loyal customer with them for years with no problems. No other utility does that I find it harassing. I called up their customer service and complained about the calls, told them I would pay the bill when I was able (not that minute) and I was fully prepared to let them know that I am dropping my service for another carrier if they didn't like it. But the call never got that far. The agent apologized and put a note on my file telling the accounts receivable dept to stop calling me. And the calls stopped. Wahoo!

It's not actually Bell. It's a scanner pretending to be from Bell to get your credit card info.

I like your style. If their invoicing programme allows it, it would be great to have had them owe you one cent instead of $35. Hope they're still wasting money sending you notices as of October 2016.

Completely agree, with my cell I have the same problem, plus they've been severely overcharging me all of a sudden, there's no way I use that much data, soon as this is up I'm done with them!

Bell was actually pleasant to deal with. They asked for a credit card payment, I told them I would prefer to make it through banking and they were fine with it. The only annoying aspect was they had called three previous times. Two of the three I missed the call and no message was left. The third time, I picked up and it seemed no one was on the other end of the line.

Most people don't respond that way. I mean if you get your bill by mail and haven't paid it, why should they think that another piece of mail will get the message across. They are finding alternative ways to connect with the consumer and let you know that there is a debt owed.

Just had a call from them saying I owe them money. But my payment is showing up when I log into My Bell account, they didn't ask security questions or nothing. Makes me wonder what is going on

Its bell, you are late paying them - I dont care or remember to pay $100/mnth, so I pay when they call and ask - its usually $350.  Problem is, I paid 3 days ago and they are still calling.  Antiquated system they must use, just like their business model.

This number keeps calling three times a day and asking for my gown son who hasn't lived here in years.  His account is paid in full. I refused to give him the message and they hung up. I called the main Bell line and they said it was a legit number so  I called them and when I wouldn't give personnel information to verify the call they hung up.  The weird thing is that if you plug in  the cell number it tells you that you are paid in full... which begs the question why are they calling...it has to be a scam.

This is a valid Bell number. It's listed on their website:

    http://support.bell.ca/Billing-and-Accounts/B ... nt_notification

It could be spoofed however, and a scammer calling to get your ccard details. If they call you, I would tell them you will cal them back, that way you know it's not a spoofed CNUM call.

This person just asked to verify my name.  They said 'Is this ____' a couple of times, because I hummed and hawed at first.
There was noise in the background.
I see others have complained about these fraudsters pretending to be Bell and checked with bell.
I called Bell and they verified that its not a Bell number.
This caller is definitely a fraudster that somehow got my cell and my name combination from some kind of record.  I don't know if they were trying to get me to say the word 'yes', which they would then punch into a premium calling service (aka adult line) and just bill me.  Bell blocked this number for me. Great folks at Bell.

May the scammers all be sent to live under ISIS occupation and appear in their victim video's, the b_sturds!

Received call from this number today March 27 2017. When I answered it was very hard to hear them as it was broken up bad connection. He must have adjusted his head set or something as it improved. Anyways he went on to confirm who he was speaking to by asking my name with no other questions. He then began to tell me he was calling to inform me he was collections for Bell and I was 2 months past due. I told him please explain to me how I was 2 months behind. He mentioned that I had Failed to make payment on March 6th and for April 6th and they were due immediately. I said it's not possible to be behind 2 months behind when it's not even 30 days past the first due date. And on top I can't be behind on a payment that is not even due yet because it's not even April. As he was trying to explain how incorrect I was, I quickly went online to my banking as I was sure I  made the payment, or at least I had thought. I did find out my payment did not process on the 6th, it said payment incomplete. I'm not sure why, but we were on vacation at the time and it's when I made the payment. There was poor internet connection so whether it interfered with the payment or what, but I confirmed my march payment was not made. I told the guy I checked my records and apologized and would make the outstanding payment of 227.13 from March 6 only as the second amount is not due yet. He then said that is not sufficient and I must make the full payment of 453.13 immediately or face collections and legal actions. He then said I must pay him directly only with a credit card which I said I would not, and would only process my payment through online banking. He was not getting my credit card. He said that would be ok but only if I agreed to full payment and agree to process payment directly through my bell app before 5:00 today. Instantly I said no, they would only receive the 227.13 which I admitted was outstanding and I would do through my bell app. He then said the best he could do is give me 2 days grace period to come up with the balance of 226.00 or face legal actions. I got mad at him then and told him to go right ahead. You can't put me in collections for amounts that aren't even due yet, and to boot when I signed up with Bell we had to pay an extra month in advance at start up. So I told him theoretically I could go 60 days past any due date before I was even 30 days overdue. It was a lengthy conversation but end result the more stern I got, you could tell his voice was shuddering like I had cornered him in his scheme to get money by threatening people with collections and legal actions. I knew I was right and wasn't going to back down, he was pissing me off! After I finally got off phone with him I made my missed payment, I wasn't fighting I didn't owe it. I then called Bells customer relations where I explained to them what I had just went through. After she reviewed my account, she said by no means was I ever in the position to be receiving a call from them. She said according to my billing my payment date is 6th of each month but is not actually due until the 16th. So she said actually all my other payments have been 10 days early. And this past payment actually was only 11 days over the due date. Also she said it would not be considered 30 days overdue and would have possibly triggered a phone call until May 16th because I pay 1 month in advance. She told me to completely disregard the call I received, and apologized several times and she made note of it on my account.  If I receive another call from them like this, that be the end of them instantly Definitely an annoying afternoon!!

These idiots claim to be Bell (and I do have a Bell mobile account) but they are calling a landline that is in no way connected to the account.  Have them blocked but notice they still call several times per week.  Total scam.
