It is Citibank.  I had a problem with my card when I tried to use it.   Came home and called the Customer Service help number off my " monthly statement."  They verified this number and a Citibank Representative assisted me.  Turned out to be a problem with the Merchants's card reader system, not my actual card after all.  Was greatful  for the help and that Citibank called to let me know I needed to contact them.   If in doubt about whom is calling I always use another contact number to make sure the call is valid.   Your monthly statement is a good place to quickly find a number for quick help.

This was a TRUE fraud alert from Citi.   Always Call the number on your card.  I did and their fraud algorithm had detected unauthorized charges.  They cancelled my card and removed the charges. New card is on the way.

I received two vm msgs on my work number, one at 8:00PM and one at 8:00AM, both from a recorded message (not a live person) asking me to call the Citibank Thank You Points fraud department at 1-800-386-6624 regarding a recent transaction to my account.  The recorded message also provided a "case number" - 6814646.  I did not call the given number.  Instead I went to the TY Points official website and dialed the number listed there and explained the situation to the customer service rep and gave her the 800 number and the case number.  The customer service rep subsequently informed that she could not find that 800 number anywhere in their records, and that she herself had dialed the number and gotten a message asking for a "pin number."  She stated that Citi would never ask for a pin number.  She then reviewed my TY Points account, confirmed my official last transaction in 2016, and stated that there were no recent transactions.  Conclusion:  PHISHING SCAM.

Missed 2 calls from this number.  Looked up the number on the web and saw that it was a valid CITI Fraud dept number. I logged on to my CITI account and saw 4 fraudulent charges on my card. I was able to cancel the charges and my card online and request a new card. Very impressed with CITI.

Warning about charges to my Card.    I don't have a Citi Card.   Haven't had one for many years.
I have a relatively new unlisted number.   This is an auto dial scam in my opinion.

I received a fraud alert text back on 5/7/17 asking if I authorized $997 from Interactive TRA, saying it was from CitiBank.  I did not see the text until today.  I called Citi and there was no charge for this amount, however, they only keep attempted charges that don't go through for 30 days.  I asked if this number is from Citi and he said no, they only use the number on the back of my card.  I did not call this number. It is definitely a fraudulent number. Never call those numbers, go directly to your card and use the number on the back of the card. Be careful.

I got a text with a message to call 800-386-6624 re: fraud on my Citi card. I was hesitant to call or reply so I logged in to my Citi account. Sure enough, someone made 5 attempts to charge me over $1000 but Citi had fortunately blocked it. I acknowledged the bad charges online and authorized closing the account. Then I got a phone call from Citi to confirm that I had just done that. Thank you Citibank for preventing fraud!

This is NOT a legit number and most of those replies are probably fake. DO NOT CALL BACK AND DO NOT GIVE INFORMATION. Call the # on the back of y our Citi Card if you are worried!

I got a voice mail from this phone number twice, 4 hours apart, saying it was the fraud line and asking me to call.  Missed both calls but picked up the voice mail asking me to call back the number.
I did live chat with Citi Cards, and they said explicitly that this is NOT a Citibank phone number.  I called the number on the card, and they did identify an issue.  However, the issue they identified was not spelled out in the voice mail, which was a generic "call about fraud" voice mail.
This makes me think that the comments in this forum saying that the number is legit are "salted" by the fraudsters.  Beware!

I just spend the last hour with Citibank. The recorded message and case number left on your landline or cell is legit (the number is 800-386-6624 and the case number is a 7 digit number). I called the number on back of my card and went through the whole process to verify return call number and case number. It concerned thousands of dollars and I am so glad to have done it. Todays date is 7-03-2018. For goodness sake do no ignore this call.
