- KellyI just called Home Depot while researching potential fraud with my Citi card. The customer service there was unable to help me investigate this further and then gave me this number to call.
However, it's NOT the number Citibank online gave me to call. This is: 800-950-5114 (TTY: 1-800-325-2865) And it's NOT the number shown on the back of my card for who to call. This is: 800-248-4286
I have no idea is this phone number is legitimate, but I decided to go with the Citi provided numbers instead after researching this number. Hope this helps someone.- Caller: none

- DayzeglazeMessage left on answering machine from 800-298-6359 and six digit "key code" to call back to get 'important message' that is "not a sales call" from Citi Bank regarding my Citi card account-my REAL first and last names were also used in scammer's voicemail . I called and put in key code and was asked for zip code--the call dropped. called again and after I put in key code call was picked up by a woman who did not sound very professional. I became suspicious and immediately asked her what is phone number to call her back at "CitiBank"--she told me this alternate SCAM NUMBER: 800-388-2200. BEWARE of phone calls from 800-388-2200, 800-298-6359 and 800-866-9900 (another number to to call if your 1st call to scammer 'drops' !!).

- IrisThis is not spam, it is really citi calling you in order to collect credit card debt. In my case letters weren’t reaching me in regards to a credit card that had never been used but they were able to close the account and reverse any annual charges made.
- Caller: Citi
- Call type: Debt collector
- Alan RunfeldtReceived two calls from these scammers. When I called back, woman I spoke with seemed uncertain and asked too many questions. I asked if she was really from Citi card and she insisted that she was. I told her that I was not convinced and would end the call now. I hung up and googled this number *after* i hung up. Should googled it first...

- MomHave been getting multiple calls per day from this number for months, recordings are some dude with an Irish accent telling me they need to check the account status for my credit card. I don't nor have I ever had a Citi credit card that I recall, so I assume this is a scam. Would love to know how to make it stop. www.citicards.com was the web site. 800-388-2200 was the number to call back, but the number that called and left the message was 866-532-0423
- Caller: Citi Bank
- Wisconsin Lakes RealtyThey left message on answering machine to call them

- Caller: citi bank

- darReceived a voicemail from them. It came up as Potential Fraud on my cell phone. I read the message which advised me to go to Citibank and check my account status. They gave me a web address (www.citicards.com) but I did not use it. I went to the web address I usually use for Citibank. I did discover that I was Past Due as my automatic payment amount needed to be increased. So if this is a scam it is a useful one.
- Caller: Citibank?
- LaurelMan with Indian accent calls about lowering my credit card debt. I asked him which card he was referring to, and he said, “Every credit card.” I told him to please repeat himself slowly so I could make a recording and get back to him at a more convenient time. He responded, “We take 10 minute, just 10 minute Madam.”
My answer, “You obviously have no respect,” and I hung up.
I’m getting very tired of these scammers calling at all hours of the day and night on different numbers. It’s very tempting to cancel my cell service and go back to a throw away flip phone!- Caller: ???

- Not FooledFor the last two weeks I have gotten multiple calls/voicemails a day from 866-532-0424 with this number - 800-388-2200 - as a callback number. The recorded caller indicated that the call was from Citibank and on the voicemail left the website www.citycards.com as an option for follow-up. This is a total scam to try to get personal info. The website is misspelled "city" versus the real "citi." The web address redirects you to a fake website. When you call, you are required to give your SSN or full credit card number in order to speak to an agent.
I called the real Citibank number (available online or on the back of your credit card). I spoke to reps in customer service, collections and fraud. All confirmed that this was NOT a real inquiry and that they are aware of the ongoing scam. Be alert, folks.- Call type: Scam suspicion
