Yes, it was some generic cancer org that stated they help patients directly.  Which of course is a great cause,  but I never heard of them.  They wanted to send me a packet to donate money.

Two calls from this number within 24 hours. I don't even bother answering the phone when I see an 800 number on the caller ID any more.

We get these calls from this type of organization constantly and are on the DNC. What I have realized is that we didn't get nearly these amount of calls UNTIL we signed up for the DNC list. I can't help but think that these "non-profit" organizations use the DNC list to "harvest" live numbers and call constantly because they are within the law. I'm taking our number off the DNC and will gladly deal with 1 or 2 calls a month versus 20 or more per month since we signed up. Our government at work ... doesn't take long for these places to figure out how to take a law to protect people and use to harrass them even more.

Why trust a company/organization that's unwilling to give their information to the BBB?  I WOULD NEVER DO THAT, much less send them money after reading all of the consumer rremarks about them.  ONLY DO BUSINESS WITH LEGITIMATE ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE TRUSTWORTHY!!!

If you have AT&T (SBC) then my BEST suggestion to all of you folks, is to get their (or your service provider's) "CALL SCREENING" feature for a few bucks a month.  With it you can BLOCK UP TO 10 NUMBERS just by punching a few phone keys... After a call: *60, then #01#...which BLOCKS THE LAST # that called you EVEN IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE NUMBER!  Or you can follow the automated instructions to enter a number, review what numbers are on your "LIST" or delete a number "07" after hearing it from your List.  I've had this feature for several years and believe me, it's worth every penny if you get a lot of calls from the same annoying people over and over again. They may start using an alternate number, but just 'add' them to your list also.  

Get some peace in your life!  It's a shame to have to spend a few bucks to stop these calls, but it's better than listening to their crap, getting aggrevated and upsetting your day.

It also helps to write your BLOCKED NUMBERS down; I use a 3x5 index card with the date also so I can edit my LIST after a period of time, to make room for another idiots' number. Hope this helps you all.

ANOTHER HINT:  DO NOT PICK UP YOUR PHONE FOR ANY 888, 877, 800, 866 or similar calls, as that MAY tell them your number is an active one and the time you're available.  After all, your friends/family don't call using these prefixes, do they now?

these people continuously call, ask for money, then become agitated when told no. i'm tired of them. i have registered this # on the do not call list, however, they continue to get by with calling.

Stop calling.  I have caller ID, so I'll never answer. Your wasting your time.

Calls about 3 times a week but there is no one there.
Very annoying.  The No Call List doesn't work here.

This number has called us EIGHT TIMES SINCE 6PM, it is now 8:30pm......we are tired of it, stop calling

I love my new Panisonic telephone!  Anytime I get one of these calls I just place it on my phone's Block Caller list and laugh. I did that three days ago and according to my phone this number has attempted to call three times since. I have no clue as the phone doesn't ring for blocked callers and it won't allow them to leave messages.

I tested what the other person hears when they dial my number when their number is on my blocked list by temporarily blocking my mobile number and then calling myself.  They hear one ring and then a fast busy signal for 10 seconds and then it disconnects. According to the owner's manual, this will send a signal to the computer that is auto-dialing that my number is " no longer in service".

I think it works as none of the numbers I have placed on my list from last month has tried to call me.

Please make these calls stop.  They are so annoying.  Finally got the March of Dimes to stop calling and now these calls started.

I get the same call with no message, several times a day.  
    I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but I found it ironic and amusing when I noticed the ad on this page. "Fundraising that works- Raise 25k- $50k in 90 Days... etc." So on a webpage where everyone seems upset about people making intrusive phone calls, trying to raise funds for their charity, they post an ad for pretty much the same thing.  That makes about as much sense as "Decadent, hand-dipped chocolates available in quantity, shipped next day right to your front door" on a weight watchers website.

Same here, more than one hang-up or empty call.  Since charities are exempt from the National Do-Not-Call these people have gotten lazy and arrogant to boot.   The auto-dialers can dial faster than people can handle the calls, so they just call up tons of people and dump the extra calls if an agent is not available.
The only way to stop them is if everybody learns to never give or even pledge over the phone.  Find your favorite charity and give directly.  
And you will be very sorry if you let them send a pledge card, both direct soliciting charities and those agent companies will sell your name/number/info to others.   Frankly, give them money and they put you on a suckers list!

Telemarketer in Dearborn, MI claims to represent "Cancer Support Services"

Well hello scumbags  at this number. You have my number , now i have yours. I know where you work. I know you wont stop. Now i know who works there. Lets begin with the one that was convicted of forgery with bank note. The people working here are ex convicts fakes, and frauds. Sue me !!!! You wont because you cant afford the bad publicity . PEOPLE , these scumbags that call you are conning you. Dont give them ANY money. Cuss at them and tell them what you think about them bothering you. Do you want to give money to an ex convict. NO ..... I will continue investigating everyone working there and give updates about the background about people there. Let the GAMES begin. Revenge is a dish best served cold.
