- Brandon replies to Ted| 2 repliesFirst of all, MLK day is an optional holiday. They don't have to take it off.
Second, if you called and left a message, not they will not remove your number, because they don't have to. Not by a recorded message (just like those answering machines that say "add this number to your do not call list..." dosn't fit the bill. Sorry.
And before you get spun up about sombody calling you back WHEN YOU DON'T ANSWER (how dare they?!?) try picking up the phone and finding out what they want.
Oh, one more thing, with automated dialers, some times there are mistakes (computers mess up??? Never!) and it dosn't connect like it should. Chill out. Your not that important. - mbSeems to dial regularly 3 or 4 times a day, any hour. Never leaves message.

- Thomas A, replies to BrandonMessages like this really shows how the problem just continues. Believe it or not, as long as I am the one who is paying for MY phone line, I have every right to determine how it will be used, and that includes not receiving the types of calls I do not want. Period. Just like no one and no law can compel me to answer my front door when someone knocks, I don't have to answer my phone. And if they keep calling, just like if someone keeps coming to my house (which would be trespassing), I have every right to demand that I do not receive such calls. So the laws need to be changed, but only until people start demanding their rights for what they are PAYING for.
Peace and privacy come first - the other party's desire to want to make money or solicit money comes last. Period. It is not something one should have to jump through hoops to get....you should have to jump through hoops to ASK to receive these calls. - ErinI got a call from this number yesterday and they were asking for a donation for cancer patients.
I think this is one of many scams. I've gotten calls before about lowering interest rates on my credit card debt. I don't have any credit cards.- Caller: Cancer Fund of America Support Services

- Chick3K| 1 replyThey have called me 3 times this morning in less than an hour. Called 6 times yesterday. I told them we would donate, but much like some of you here things have changed and do not have the means to send money to MN from WA. I feel if I am going to donate I want it all to benefit the place I am giving too. Therefore Hospice will be getting any money I can afford to give. They will hound you forever. Any idea how to block their number from calling me? I am on the do not call list, but this one seems to get through. Frustrating! They act like a bill collecter.

- SandyIrritating - pick up and no one says a word - hang on and eventually they hang up. No point in saying anything - just blow a loud whistle and irritate back.
- mikeCalls repeatedly.
- rung outhad six calls today from "the cancer fund" They are relentless little blood suckers! Two months ago I answered the call, they explained who they were and that they wanted donations. Never having heard of them before, I asked them to send information via mail. They did, but put me down as pledging $25 to them (which I did not pledge) and then called back looking to collect it. This is one organization who I would not recommend donating to as they spend 2/3 of their money on administrative costs. Tell them to buzz off and give any donations directly to The American Cancer Society.
