return call only gets a recorded message, if it was legit there would be volunteers answering the phone, beware of people posing as supposed retired Navy veterans wanting donations as well, similar scam, this one may be legit not sure, be wary.

answered...could hear other telemarketing racket in background.  Finally, someone cam eon the line.

I just listened and they hung up.  I will never donate (read other reviews) to any chairity with this type of call center approach.

Real unprofessional with background noise. Dose not give impression of legit charity.

Same thing. Claimed to be some kind of cancer charity, but wasn't soliciting for funds over the phone. Wanted to send me a pledge card.

Woman claimed it would be "a blessing" if I could help them out at this time. When I cited personal reasons, she said she'd call me up next year "at this time" so I could be "a blessing" on someone else's life.

She wouldn't explain any details about the charity when I asked, other to say it for cancer patients.

I have recieved 20 calls from this organization in 5 days.  11 of the calls were in one day & 4 of the calls were within the same hour.  I have told them 5 times that they have the wrong number & to stop calling.  I have reported them to the Do Not Call Registry, FCC and FTC & am about to file a police report.  I have sent them 10 emails & left 2 messages on their machine.  Ridiculous!!!

After I hang up on them,they keep calling back.So you would think they would get the message.

Please complain to the www.donotcall.gov website.

Called for three days now and they finally said something when I picked up receiver. Asked for Mrs. Northcutt????? Told them they reached the wrong #. They were very polite and said they will take # from system. We will see??????

Same number, same problem. I just read on another forum that with some phone companies if you dial *60 you can block any numbers you want to from calling. I tried it and it worked for me!

I am an unlisted # and they found me.  I definitely think this is a scam.

Charities don't apply to "do not call list"

Call rang twice, when I picked up no one was there.

Called my business (on an unlisted, extra line) and hung up every time.  When I called it back, it said it was Cancer Research of America.  I dug into the number a little more, and that's a front.  If you every do get someone on the phone, they will try to get money out of you, with no information as to what, who or where it will end up.  Don't answer the phone, and keep your money to yourself!

Again, they may call you once, but if you tell them to put you on THEIR do-not-call list, they must do so.

I get a call from this number once a week. I answered once and no one was there. I think its the same day each week about 10am. I no longer answer but it is annoying to say the least. Don't answer or give anything. I think the do not call center should take care of this.

They call I answer and there no one seems to be on the other end of the line.  it may be a scam, not sure.  This is what I did today.

This is the first call we've gotten from this number (January 18, 2010 at 7:33 PM).

The phone rang two times, then disconnected.  There was no time to answer, and my voice message machine did not have time to answer.

The information posted on this web site indicates that it is a fundraising scam.

I agree with the previous poster that you should not even say the work 'yes' in any context, if you speak with them.

Do not engage them in any conversation.  Do not try to explain your reasons for not giving.  The best response is "No, thank you," and then hang up.

If you want to donate money to help fight cancers, go do your own research and decide for yourself which organizations are doing the best work.
