I can't block it b/c its a 1-800 number.
We don't pick up...thank goodness for caller ID!
I've researched this Cancer Fund raiser and have found them to be highly suspect. I will NEVR give them a single cent.
I'm getting very angry and my hubbie is way past the point of being civil to them IF he happens to pick up the phone and they are on the line.

Went to tel. recorder.  Hung up 3 seconds into our recorded greeting.

I actually went to the website today for Cancer Fund of America.  I am sick and tired of getting phone calls from this company and getting static or hang ups.  I told them if the company they use continues to call me I will report them to the IRS.  The woman on the phone said they had been getting a lot of complaints.  I understand larger organizations use companies to seek donations but this is highly unprofessional.  I feel like there are a bunch of school age children making prank calls throughout the day.  Enough is enough.

If the company is a 3rd party telemarketer calling on behalf of a charity
they are required by DNC laws to put you on their do not call list.

However, if a third-party telemarketer is calling on behalf of a charity, a consumer may ask not to receive any more calls from, or on behalf of, that specific charity. If a third-party telemarketer calls again on behalf of that charity, the telemarketer may be subject to a fine of up to $16,000.

Note that they may call for a different charity - but the rule still applies
You still have to tell the put you their DoNotCall list.

DO NOT DONATE TO 3RD PARTY TELEMARKETERS COLLECTING FOR CHARITY!
They keep 85-90% OF ALL MONEY DONATED!  
If you wish to donate - contact the charity directly it will do more good in the long run.

Third party telemarketers are also getting themselves into trouble!

We've had three calls from these people in the past week, and each time they call it's at 8:45 in the morning when I am still sleeping. I got up and answered twice; each time no one on the other line said anything. Then, about 30 seconds later, THEY hang up on ME! I want to sue these people.

Get frequent calls from this number - I pick up and nobody is ever there. I tracked down the organization that uses them to do their calling and fund raising - Cancer Fund of America. (see link- http://www.cfoa.org ). On the CFOA website they clearly identify Cancer Support Services (CCS) as their fund raising entity. I called CFOA and they were very courteous and were upset over the CCS calls - the gentelman I spoke with was aware and disturbed about the CCS methods and how it was hurting CFOA's fund raising efforts. He took my phone number and last name and told me he would get my name off the call list. We shall see... but at least they were concerned and paid attention to my call.

Called 11 times in one day.  Started at 9:15 AM  on Sunday and stopped at 10:15 PM.  

This is really bad for the "real"  American Cancer Society.

We get calls from them 3-5 times a day but they never leave a message

Received a call from this number at my office today. Got a terrible shreiking sound and hung up after 10 seconds.

These bozos are calling me again. On Friday morning around 9 & again this morning around 9am. Both times hung up without leaving a message.
Today I called back on the number they used & got a lengthy recorded message
explaining that I MUST give my case number & other personal info for my
request to be filled & that it would take 5 to 10 days to do so.
I left a message sure to be deleted immediately...

I called and asked them to stop calling, the guy there took my number
and said OK.

I'm expecting a wake-up call from them tomorrow morning...

Well, they called again this morning. This time a woman who gave her name
as "Theresa Sweeney" promised they would stop calling me.

Every night I get 3 or 4 calls from 800/390-4812. I decided to call it from my cell phone and it says Cancer Support Services. This is getting old! How do we get rid of it. Thank goodness for caller ID. I dont answer it anymore! :)

yep!!! they are calling me every 5 minutes several times in a row...then a little later say about an hour or so they do it again...it's getting to be very upsetting to me and I might be inclined to say some nasty, nasty, things to them, if I can get them on the line...I usually don't bother with people who don't ID themselves but, they are making it very tempting.

Go to a site like telespoof.com, spoof their own number back at them and pretend you're asking for a donation!

This # has been calling for days. Don't usually pick up...but did so this AM...person was representing the Cancer Society....being a survivor I was outraged. I hung up...please go after these crooks...

They are exempt from the Do Not Call, But not if you tell them not to call anymore they have to comply by LAW.

DO YOU THINK THAT THIS IS A LEGIT CHARITY FOR CANCER PATIENTS........     I ALSO RECEIVED A LATE NIGHT PHONE CALL REQUESTING MONEY WITHIN THREE DAYS AFTER RECEIVING CARD IN MAIL.
