There was a person on the phone when I answered, but I had to wait for her.  Obviously they are using an automated system to get a bunch of people on line, and the live operators handle as many calls as they can.  This does indeed appear to be a Cancer fund, But their rating at charitynavigator.com shows Zero stars (bad ... very bad).  Like many such orgs too much of what you give goes to overhead, little goes to the cause.

this group according to the charities rating is a clear scam they DO give a tiny amount of the money donated to people but over 75% goes to the business which is scamming people DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION DO NOT MAKE PROMISES SEE THE BELOW LINK they have now called an woke me up 3 times n 3 days at an unreasonable hour of the morning they should be considered a commercial money collection for profit not as any charity (except those who are living on your donations eating better than you)

Called me at 0841. I said Hello and they hung up. I googled the number and found this.

Got a call from them and there was nobody would say anything.

Same, charity for cancer.  The best way I have found to handle these guys is to let them start their pitch, then interrupt them by saying "I am not working and I don't have any money ... but you have a nice day".  If you just tell them you are short of funds they often say "we have a special program so everybody can give". But when you finalize it by saying "But you have a nice day" they usually hang up, often they say "You have a nice day also".  Don't feel bad about lying to them, they are bothering you at YOUR home without YOUR permission.

Sales call from Cancer research needing donations

They have been calling constantly for months. Registered complaints twice with the do not call list.  Number comes up as "toll free service" on caller id. They are "Cancer Fund of America Support Services" Research shows they do not meet charity standards as they do not provide appropriate required services and keep the money for themselves. They do not qualify as a charity and can be reported to state's district attorney and the do not call list.

This is none other than Portfolio Collection Agency up to their old tricks again. Don't answer these calls!!!!

I get these calls all of the time from Cancer Fund of America. You are actually getting the calls from a telemarketer that they hire. I checked out the non-profit at the American Institute of Philantropy web site
(http://www.charitywatch.org/articles/cancer.html). The AIP does not give them a good rating,especially on how much they spend on administration vs. what goes to the cancer patients. I have decided not to donate. Let you conscious be your guide, but check them out thoroughly.

I got one yesterday, and again, same time, this morning. No answer when you pick the phone up and I am not waiting on line to get a person.
Call me then answer, but call me and put me on hold? Oh heck no.

I called the number back, it's a cancer outreach program that does not support cancer research. Sounds like a scam to me.

3-5 calls a day.
From 9am to 10pm.
I can't block it b/c its a 1-800 number.
We don't pick up...thank goodness for caller ID!
I've researched this Cancer Fund raiser and have found them to be highly suspect. I will NEVR give them a single cent.
I'm getting very angry and my hubbie is way past the point of being civil to them IF he happens to pick up the phone and they are on the line.
