like many of the other posts suggest, just call the number and you'll get an answering machine prompting you to press "1" a bunch of times and you'll be removed from the lists.  Gemma is in affiliation with Rogers Canada.

I, too, just got a call from Gemma (1-800-395-8813).

Called the number as provided by Joe, and asked to be removed from whatever list(s) I may be on.  Pretty painless actually.

Hopefully they don't call back.

I just called the number provided by Joe.The receptionist took my information and said I was taken off their list.   I hope it works.

got a few phone calls from this #, 800-395-8813 decided to go to canada 411, a list came out with many people who got caught, did call back, punched a digit and hung up.  Hope it will help no to receive them calls again.

Followed Berry's advice. Called back, followed their instructions, didn't have to talk to anyone (automated service) - > removed my number from their call-list.

I would be worried that by calling them, they will actually sell my number to someone else, knowing that it is a legitimate number. No?

I just started getting calls from this number and followed the advise of  Joe (Don't bother me anymore ) from Dec 17, 2007. I spoke to a human, who said that my number will be removed from the "list". I hope it worked... but I'll be back here to tell you about it if it didn't.

I got a call from somoene at 1800-395-8813.. they said they are calling on behalf of Rogers and wanted to offer me free digital cable for one year.  They wanted credit card and s.i.n. over the phone .. I told them "how do I know you are who you are.. after all you're calling me and not the way around.."

so I called rogers 1800-502-6982 and spoke to their General enquiries department and they have confirmed that Gemma communications is a legit group working for them.

Bottom line, don't ever provide that kind of info to solicitors over the phone.

I rec'd a call from my cell phone provider regarding my home phone. I guess I got played into the whole speal he was offering. He asked to confirm my information. I was not impressed that he could not confirm my address since I just moved and all of that information was attached to my account. Why was he asking me for my number from my driver's licence or my SIN number or Visa card number for back up? The whole thing did not sit right no matter how much he pushed, and he pushed hard, but I told him to forget what we scheduled and that if I decided to get the service offered, I would contact the company I was interested in. He was not pleased that he lost a sale, but I was pleased at myself for not givinh out my info. If there is a private policy in place where did they get my private number from? How can we tell if these are real calls or not?

I kept getting these calls all day long, bloody annoying. I called the number provided by "Joe", and the receptionist was such a witch.
Here was our convo:
Me: Hi can you remove me off your list
Witch: What list?
Me: The calling list, you keep calling me?
Witch: What list, who said we are calling you
(wtf!)
Me: Listen, I know you're calling me from your 18003958813 number, and i want you to remove me from all your lists.
Witch: what is your number? etc etc... Yes, we were calling you on behalf of rogers.

What annoys me is wth are they denying it!

Berry, thanks, it's all about hitting a bunch of 1's and your number is taken off the call list.....one think though, do NOT block your number when you call or it won't work!

Called my home - no answer.

Numerous calls from this number.  Leaves no message

I get daily phone calls from this number; they never leave a voicemail. I have twice requested to be removed from their list (once through the touch-tone system, once "in person"). Both times, I was told to allow 48 hours for the change to become effective. The last time I called was two weeks ago - I still get daily calls from them. On top of it all, I am now getting even more phone spam than I did before. I have a sneaking suspicion I just confirmed for them that the number is valid.

Additionally, the time I requested to be removed via the touch-tone system, they dictated my phone number to me and said "is this the number you wish to remove?" only... it wasn't my number at all. It wasn't even the right area code. I then had to punch in my actual phone number and follow the instructions.

Thanks Joe - I'm going to keep calling "Gemma" back at their 416 number and when they answer, I'm just going to wait their silently.  If they want to waste my time, I'm going to make it my mission to waste their time.

This company has to be the most annoying on the planet, calls me 2-3 times a day, I've tried ignoring them, I tried what someone suggested earlier bout answering and pressing random numbers, I've tried waiting on the line to basically yell at the person to tell them to take my number off, but no one ever is there. I do believe they are outsources by rogers to collect information, because I've never had them call before until I just moved Nov1 and went from Bell to Rogers and gave Rogers my cell phone number to contact me, now this damn 1800 # wont leave me alone called every single day to my cell since I moved.

Received same call today, they hung up without saying a word. Called the number back and it says press 1 or francais deux, never heard the english part just 1, kinda got me thinking about another marketing call going around for credit card rates where they just want you to press 1 on yr phone if yr interested, coincidense maybe, or maybe they just want you to call back and press 1 thinking its for english.

I suggest everyone to register on the National Do Not Call List
