- PARep| 2 repliesThis is a legit business - they leave short messages with little infomation to protect your identity. As some have said they receive calls for other people not at the number, thats because people give out wrong info all the time for health care. Think of this ... if you went to the ER, would you want the billing company who is trying to resolve your account calling a number and spitting all your personal informaion out to someone who they arent even positive is you? NO I dont think so ... If ever you are not sure with bill collectors ask for a number to call them back at, and call back a few days later verify business name prior to giving anypayment.

- Rs1986| 1 replyThe number belongs to CEP/MedAmerica billing services. If they are calling you it is in regards to collections of a past due medical bill. Doctors that are contracted with CEP (primarily emergency care) use MedAmerica Billing Services to collect past due debts.

- JohnCalled the number back, got an automated menu. Selected the option to "pay bill via credit card online," and was told to go to http://www.dracenter.com/billpay ... which doesn't exist.

- Caller: SCAM
- sochi replies to Rs1986People who are defending this fake company CLEARLY ARE ASSOCIATED WITH IT. Like we wouldn't know if we owed money or not? Like we would just give our credit card info to anyone like idiots? This is so obviously a scam.

My mom got a call from 1(209)498-7157 with this lade verifying that that was the correct billing address that they had she said yes and she informed her that she would be getting some more papers. I immediately got a vibe that it was not a good thing or was a scam, due to I had already gotten a bill from Sutter Health, but I looked up and saw what was posted here but waited a few days and got a letter from that address. What got me was that today 03/25/14 I talked to Sutter Health and made a payment and there is this one from this address which the paper is just a white piece of printer paper with little information. Then I also noticed immediately that it stated "YOUR ACCOUNT IS 30 DAYS PAST DUE. PAYMENT ON THIS ACCOUNT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY". The thing is though that how is 20 days including days that she was at the hospital 30 days past due? that is of today's date not the "STATEMENT DATE 03/22/14" and the date that she was admitted to the hospital was 03/05/14. So I am comeing to the conclusion that that this is a scam and it just praying on people to get scared by the "30 DAYS" so if you get something from them just go what the hospital is telling you not what they tell you. Also if they keep calling or sending me more letters I am going to go there personally and see what is going on.- Caller: CA EMER PHYS MED GRP MODESTO CA
- David LeisalinGot bill from them, with <$20 only and almost about to pay online. Searched and got this information right before entering my credit card info.. Will report to govorment and police dept..
- JohnGot call from a "Beverly"--I don't owe any money -- she didn't say who she was with but 'wanted a call back'. I now have my number listed. That's probably why they call. If you have a listed number, they will call and scam you. DO NOT CALL BACK. Glad I have an answering machine. They are scammers at getting money out of you. We have all been to doctors. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION> So just do NOT call back.
Besides I'm on the DO NOT CALL LIST anyway. They should have checked that.
Remember people as a former telemarketer, they just get your prefix and then your last four numbers at random: 4587, 4588, 4589 etc etc until they get someone on the phone. If you DID NOT MAKE THE CALL, DO NOT CALL these people.
A big warning. Especially if they don't tell you what's it about or who they are with. That's illegal in itself.- Caller: She didn't Say!
- B TuckerI did not get a phone call from this company, but just received a bill for balance my insurance did not pay. It said provider was a specific ER DR in Owensboro. I was not even seen by any ER physician in this hospital since I was waiting for my orthopedic surgeon to see me and take me to surgery, I had been seen and treated at an out of town ER and returned home to see my surgeon.
- HughI don't know the person calling. Does not disclose the company that they represent. Requested us to call 1-800-498-7157.
- GB replies to PARepOk.....I worked at a dental office for 13 years. We call patients everyday, to confirm appointments, to change appointments, to get insurance info, etc.... yes, if we're not absolutely positive it's the persons number we don't neccesarily leave a big long message, but obviously we say the company or doctor's office name we are calling from. So if a company can't do that simple thing, then it's a scam or they are just stupid thinking ppl are going to randomly just give out cc info to someone that doesn't want to give out even the reason they are calling! My niece almost did that with her cable bill. They called her and asked for payment, even though she paid it online with their app. I stopped her mid cc# and told her to tell them she will call them back at the number she already has after she verifies with her bank if the payment went thru. Well it turns out it was legitimate, and the app didn't work, but she's just turned 21, and thinks she kinda knows everything, but this is just a situation that scammers will take advantage of. I would never, ever, ever give any information over the phone to someone who called me out of the blue, no matter how legitimate the debt was!! Not going to happen! Even if they said I would go to jail, i would respond by saying when they show up they can show me their ID and then I'll pay.....
- MelissaI just got a bill in the mail from ca emer phys med grp po box 582663 modesto ca 95358-0046. It is for $431.000. My real bill came months ago seeing as the visit was in February and it was for $3200.00 which my insurance covered all but $250.00 of and it is already paid. This is a total scam. If I ever hear from this company again I will use every possible venue to have them arrested. They have been doing this for over 6 years though enough is enough.
