This is terrifying. I didn't receive a call, but I got a letter with this number on it. It had my name and address, the date and location of my ER visit, my insurance provider, and my employer. I don't understand how they could have gotten all of that personal information. How does this happen?

Same exact thing happened to me today also. Idk why a collection agency that doesnt even label there website as a "collection agency" would have all my personal information and say i didnt provide insurance to my hospital which i clearly did. On top of that they listed my " billing fees" as a physical which is definitely not why i was in the ER lmao nor did i recieve a physical.

I received a "THIS IS YOUR FINAL NOTICE!" in all caps the letter reads:

"The balance due on your account is delinquent. You must remit payment in full or contact this office immediately or your account may be referred to a collection agency, which may lead to a derogatory comment on your credit report. If you are uninsured or have high medical costs, please contact Patient Services at 800 498 7157 for information on discounts and programs for which you may be eligible, including the Meidcaid program. If you have coverage, please tell us so that we may bill your plan."

WHAT MAKES THIS SUSPICIOUS is that for one, I've never been to an ER in Modesto. For two, the letter did not address which facility I had visited (I found this information online and it is 100% bunk and false, I've never been to Modesto in my life) and they did not have information about the date of my visit, what the services/care I received were etc. etc. SHREDDED and REPORTED.

Received a phishing scam in the mail from CEP America California claiming to represent a hospital, to whom I already paid in full. The telephone says some mind-bending bull*** that the physician that treated me "is not an employee of the hospital you were treated at and is billing you independently for your visit" MIND YOU: the address for the hospital is completely wrong and so is the phone number and they were unable to tell me the correct name of the physician that treated me. Received several calls  from this number about a bill from a doctor. I have never been to a doctor or a hospital since I was a child. Back then my dad was in the military so I did not have any bills from any physician. I am 31 years old and I have NEVER been to a doctor therefore I do not have any bills. STOP CALLING ME. It's a phone number to a billing service for, in our case, a traveling ER Dr. This Dr. doesn't have an office, so he uses these folks to do his billing. BEFORE you pay them, make certain they have all your ins. info and have properly billed charges. Then, await your EOB's to confirm you actually owe the amt they are asking you to pay. They called me @ home and I told them the amt. they asked me to pay seemed high and I would wait for the EOB's to process. Sure enough, they hadn't billed one of our insurances @ all. The original bill was reduced a couple hundred, and now I'm appealing the rest of the charges because the info they submitted to Medicare resulted in a denial of payment, and we've never had a denial before. Medicare advised me to ask the Dr. to resubmit charges, but he refuses to speak with us. The billing company told me patients aren't allowed to speak directly with the Dr., and THEY also aren't allowed to discuss accounts with the Dr.!!?? Don't pay them until you are sure what you owe. Imagine trying to get a refund from them...

These people call me all the time and I don't have any bills.

I had an emergency on Oct6; these jokers called on Oct16 and on Oct19, barely could hear the messages they left, but obviously same woman, asking me to return call. After reading these comments, there is NO WAY I will call back! SCAM!!!!

called cell phone.  reading your other comments claim this is a legit comp.  I've got no medical bills outstanding or current n I've never been to an emergency room thank goodness, haven't been to a Dr.  in years n they have no reason to contact me. however I've gotten 2 prior calls from walnut grove, ca leaving message my prescription is ready, checking in me to see if I'm doing well??? again haven't been to California n have no prescriptions.  since they continue to call on my cell phone, I've blocked their numbers.  walnut grove number was  925 947 5208. when i blocked that they called back using 925 947 4444!

This message was obviously left by the spammers themselves.

Got a call from a company saying they were Medamerica doing business as VituityRCM and was asked to call back. When I called back got a computer answering system that required a extention  which I did not have so I just hung up if it is important they will call back.

I didn't answer, but "Melissa" left a msg, said she was with "BP America" and for me to "call her at 800-498-7157."  NO WAY, JOSE!!!!!

they called I picked up and its a recording to call them back. What? its too vague. This is 2018, you will need to do better than this. I get so many random scam calls I cant possible filter them all out properly. I cant be held responsible when your unclear.

I just paid the hospital bill close to $1,000! Then I received the bill from CEP for $68.40! I immediately got suspicious. They made the billing look official even printing on the reverse side explaining that the ER costs are different than the Hospitals and Physicians fee! Even though it’s a small amount they claimed owed, can you imagine that $60 dollars or so times maybe thousands of people! This needs to STOP! I’m reporting them to authorities! SCAMMERS NEED TO BE REPORTED, TRACKED DOWN AND PROSECUTED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT IF INSIDE THE USA...but who knows where they are really located! They have thief’s collecting on their behalf if outside of our country! I’m MAD AS HELL!😡🤬

Total scam. I have $0 debt yet this is supposedly Mid America Billing Services dba Intuity Business Services. My spam calling software reports it as 100% spam.

Beware if you visit an ER.  This business sends false bills immediately.  DA now involved as it is double billing and breaking HIPPA guidelines.  They recently scammed a high level medical CFO in Sacramento, CA who is working with the CA Attorney General.  Visit an ER? Work directly with that facility for billing, DO NOT pay these scammers working in Modesto, CA.  They start with a small bill then call you back for more $$$. KCRA also said to be monitoring along with local agencies.
