- Jo replies to SarahI got a final notice too but it doesn't state the date of services and looks very suspicious. I'm contacting the attorney general's office to report them.
- Ginia| 2 repliesI saw I had a missed call from this number but no voicemail. I just recently received a mail from them that I was seen at the ER I worked at for a work related injury by a Physician's Assistant I don't remember seeing. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to contact them or if I should contact my work to have them figure it out because it was a work related injury. I have my own insurance but the bill says I will be paying out of pocket or that I don't have insurance. I already paid what is due, so I don't know what to do. Please help!

- Seriously? replies to Ginia| 1 replyEvery employer in the US must post instructions on what to do in the case of a work related injury and they must have someone who would be able to handle it. Now you claim you are confused? I find that hard to believe.
- YvetteCalled me and left a message. My entire ER and hospital visit is government through workman’s comp and my HR person told me under no circumstances am I to pay a dime to anyone.
So scam or not, they won’t be hearing from me. - Ginia replies to Seriously? It's not that I'm confused, it's just that I was told everything was going to be taken care of and I had already signed and explained everything related to my work related injury through the workman's comp.
- User| 1 replyI missed their call, so I called them back and right away it's the financial services I've been working with after my ER visit

- For RealThis is not a scam legit company you can call hospital you were seen they should have good contact information for ER billing not a collection agency
- Call type: Debt collector
- BigA replies to UserThis outfit does not provide "financial services" They supply doctors. But they also advertise Revenue Management which is another term for bill collector. As a third party bill collector they are required to follow the FDCPA.
- Skepticalthis number called me but i didnt get to it in time..I called it back..waited for an agent for 15 mins..then finally got one! i told her i was calling back to see why they were calling me. She asked was i in an emergency room recently..i told her she needed to tell me that because i was feeling the whole thing was sketchy..she then said she could not release info without me verifying..i said i wont be verifying anything until she can verify this is not a scam.. she then said they would send a bill..i said ok nd that was it..very weird

- WSF| 1 replyOk this is fraudulent. I called on behalf of my husband and they couldn't confirm the exact dr or name of practice. I called insurance and they couldn't really figure out what was going on. Getting tired of the run around, I had my husband call and he asked for the medical billing code and what it meant. It was for rhinitis ... my husband doesn't have allergies nor has ever seen a dr in Modesto.

- some experiencenot a scam if they said it was from your emergency visit. the doctor in the ER bills separately from the hospital itself, and cep america is a legit physician billing company that handles a bunch of hospitals.
- G replies to WSFIf you were treated in the emergency room
This company bills for the Er physician
It’s not a scam - MB| 1 replyI received a missed call from this phone number on 09/22/2020, and then a letter dated for the 09/24/2020. It stated that "THIS IS NOT A BILL" at the top and had my ER Visit Location, my Name and address. It made it seem like I did not give proper Insurance info to the hospital which I did in fact. I called the number it has on the letter and it says "press one if you wish to continue" but does not say continue to WHAT and this just goes on and it had me waiting. While I was waiting I googled this company name and found articles about it claiming it is spam and read others' experiences with it. I am reporting this now. Thank you. I thought it was weird to get a letter from some place other than the hospital, insurance involved or my own. T'was indeed.

- BigA replies to MBI didn't see any articles like you claim. If you went to the ER then you will get two bills. One from the hospital and one from the doctor. This outfit supplies doctor staffing so they bill for the doctor. There is a good chance that the doctor is "out-of-network" for your insurance company.
- SSI received a missed phone call from phone number 18004987157 on September 22nd, 2020 at 8:50am. On September 30th, I received a letter dated with September 25's date on it from supposedly "MedAmerica Billing Services, Inc . DBA Vituity
Agent for CEP America DBA Vituity." The letter states that my recent hospital visit may be able to run as Work Comp which in fact it can not, and it makes it seem as if the hospital had not received insurance information for my visit in which they most definitely had. My girlfriend actually visited the same hospital around the month I did and received the SAME LETTER with a different account number and different date on the letter. She ALSO received a missed call from them on Sept 22nd but at 9:51am. She called this number back and got a run around and was convinced they are running a phising scam. I researched the company name, address it gave and the phone number and found that many people are having this same problem. SCAM.- Caller: 18004987157 MedAmerica Billing Services, Inc . DBA Vituity

- M in St. LouisI received a letter dated 10/21/2020 stating they needed me to call with my insurance information. Plain paper, no logo, totally looks fake. When I called them they wanted personal info and I wouldn't give it to them. So the next day they left a msg on my land-line, which we only use for faxing, but easy to find on the internet. So I called them again and they still wouldn't talk with me about the details of what they needed unless I gave them personal information - so I hung up on them, again... This has to be a scam.

- EGThey robocalled me but were vague about what they wanted. They seemed like a medical billing company so I called the hospital where I went to the ER to check that my bill had been paid already. The billing staff at the hospital told me that the hospital and the ER doctor bill separately since the doctor isn't an employee of the hospital (so you pay the hospital for the use of facilities, and the doctor for the service). The bill from the hospital that I already paid only covered the first part.

- yesmaam replies to Monty| 1 replyYes! I just had this as well. When you call back if you want a live person they want you to call another number. I called that number and was told my place in queue was 15. I haven't received any bills...
- BigA replies to yesmaamMonty posted here in 2018. I doubt that he will be back to see your reply after 3 years. It looks like the poster right before your post got it right.
