If there was ever a good reason to dump your landline it's this kind of crap.  Random calls from unknown robodialer callers.

I have received telemaggoter calls on both my home and mobile phone numbers. Thankfully there are ways to stop these calls.

Caller asked for someone who doesn't live here and refused to identify her company or state her business.  So, blocked the number.  Tired of this crap.

They are a billing company, usually associated with E.R. visits.

Really pushy woman who kept asking questions and never answering one.  Click, bye, block.

Blocked these nut-jobs yesterday, they have called 4 times today.

The people who contact you are the billing specialist. They are unable to leave detailed messages to comply with HIPPA, can only leaVe a name and call back number. THEY ARE UNABLE TO SPEAK WITH PARTNERS,PARENTS(if patient is over 18 y/o), ATTORNEYS,OR ANYBODY WHO ANSWERS REGARDING THE VISIT. If you were seen by a physician assistant and it is saying another doctor that is because said doctor is the supervising MD and needs to be on the bill/claim and will be on your medical records. Majority of the calls are to update insurance information SO THEY ARE ABLE TO GET YOUR ER PHYS BILL PROCESSED, or to update address, name,dob,phone#. They do not offer payment plans but they offer hardship discounts which is 50% of the balance and they only require u to pay 1/2 of the HD.
If information is not updated or payments are not being made (i know above says they do not offer payment plans but if the billers see u are at least making some kind of payment they will allow more time ,depending on the biller who is handling your account* ) the Patient or Parent is subject to collections. Billers hate their jobs and the know everyone hates a call from 800 numbers. This company is legit and is not trying to just get your CC info. You all have more than one bill when going into the ER and CEP more than likely does the billing for the phys(STATES OUTSIDE OF CALI AS WELL) A lot of people forget that.. but you sign a paper stating you get separate bills when you first come to the er.

You may have provided the info to the hospital but The hospital does not always provide information correctly they will just state MVA but not other info regarding it, And for MVAs they are required to make 2 phone calls to see if there is an auto insurance you want them to bill. Health insurance do deny claims stating to bill auto insurance so it is their job to contact you and get correct information on who you want them to bill. They do not need to contact the hospital they can do it as a courtesy but they do not HAVE to. It is ultimately your bill and you are responsible for it. If information is not provided YOU are left with the bill not the hospital.

They called me today, and left a message while I was out. The lady left only her name and phone number, and no other information such as company name or nature of the call. I don't return these types of calls. If it is a medical billing issue, then they can send me a bill. I always compare it to the EOB from my insurance website, to check if it is a legitimate bill. If it is, then I'll pay it, but I never pay any more than what the EOB says is the "patient responsibility". If I can't find an EOB that matches the bill, then I just mail it back to them along with my insurance company information.

If there is a liability on the part of the patient, then something should be sent to the patient in the mail.  No one has any obligation to respond to callers who refuse to ID themselves.

Courtesy calls are made in order to avoid having to send the patient a statement and obtain the info quickly because there is a time limit to file the claims. Patients do get upset if their bill wasnt sent to the liability insurance in time or if they billed the health insurance(because the info wasnt obtained or the hospital did not give them the correct insurance to bill) These people are just doing their job and complying with hippa.

And I'm sorry but I'm not paying ANY bill (medical or otherwise) without receiving an itemization IN THE MAIL. Which is the only legal method of debt notification. You can call all you want, claiming you're collecting on a bill, but unless you mail me proof of the debt I'm not paying.

TeleTerrrorist!  No Mssg bc they are not legit.  ID says "Toll Free Number" meaning they want or Need to stay anonymous!  No outstanding bills and all Dr.'s are known so there is no legit reason for contact here.  Blocked!
