    A black female called my landlady asking for information on me including my phone number.This woman who called herself Vicky had my old number from five years ago and said it was urgent she contact me. The landlady told her she would take the womans number and contact me.I went to a pay phone so that she couldn't get my number from their caller ID. She refused to tell me who she worked for unless I gave her my phone number and address...when I refused she said the call was being taped and I would be in trouble. I told her she was also being taped and that I would file harassment charges if she continued calling people I don't even know to get info from them.She still would not tell me who she was so I hung up.This whole thing sounds like a scam to me.She called the woman who used to live in the house I rent,who I don't even know...there must be something we can do to stop these people.

    A male called my mother's house phone for my auntie's information... funny thing is, it's not her sister. My mother has been divorced from my father since 1993>>> 15 years, and her last names have continuosly changed!!! We've moved at least six times since that long ago and I don't know how he got our number!!! He knew my mom's name and my aunite's name as well!!! Tooo creepy for me

    Just got a phone call from 1-800-521-3236 on my way to work just now on my cell phone, which I found odd since this phone is new and NO ONE but my family knows this number. I couldn't understand the company name, but a woman named "andrea garcia" left a voicemail, requesting me to call her back.

    Didnt answer call.  Left message; "Very important call, not soliciting".  Yah, right!  Jerk said to call this number, 1-800-521-3236, for a very important message.  Call ID showed number unavailable.  Sleazy bag gave me the number to call.  I filed a complaint with Do Not Call Register. I do not answer ANY 800 numbers.  Boiler room parasites to lazy to find a real job.  Any legitimate company will not use a 800 number to call a client.

    Called asking for my wife's ex-husband.  Rude, fishing for information, wouldn't tell me how he got my number.  We spent years paying off my wife's ex-husbands debts ( 18 years ago!). Caller. a "Ron Smith" told me I must be a relative! I am no relative and we don't owe jack to anyone.

    Just had a call from Julie Steele at "Client Services" - I asked what they wanted and what they did - they wouldn't tell me and she put me through to some other guy.  He gave me crap for asking too many questions and that I would 'Suffer the consequences'.  It freaked me out, so I ran my annual free credit report and everything looked normal.  [***]!

    My mother and I have been receiving calls from Vicky for about 2 weeks now looking for my brother in law.  Vicky got ahold of me last week, didn't know who I was at all or how I was "related" to the person she was looking for - all she knew was that my phone number should lead her to her "victim".   Today Vicky got ahold of my mom and was very rude to her.  Told her she was going to call my mom every day until she got ahold of my brother in law.  She works for Client Services - they're a collection agency.  
    Damn it people - pay your freakin' bills!!!!!

    received a call this morning for my brother who I have not heard from in a very long time.  I am married, and I no longer have the same name. How did they get my number?  We don't even live in the same state. Who are these people and why are they calling?  If caller comes up unknown, *69 them and it will give you a number. Someone please tell me who these people are, something should be done about them getting MY information. All I could get from the guy was a last name of Robertson, he was very rude and laughed like he did not believe me.  When I asked what it was concerning, he said he could not give out that info without my brothers permission.  Who gave him permission to call me?

    Don't help them by verifying it and giving them
    more info! Information is useless and no good,
    until they know its true and can verify it.
    One collection agency was calling for some guys cousin
    who died 30 years ago! Yes they had information,
    but not the correct info. Don't help these idiots at all!

    If the answer is NO then report them.
    Reporting every unwanted number to the do not call list
    every time, helps to track Scams.
    It also helps to identify who is breaking laws by
    calling too many times. Its Legal Harassment if they
    call 3 times in one hour.
    They can only call 3 times a week or something like that.
    If you tell them not to call again, and they call,
    its harassment.

    These guys are a collection agency and clearly don't care about the Do Not Call Lists or any guidelines.  to make them stop, file the following complaints.

    Missouri State Attn General (where this company is located) - www.consumer.ago.mo.gov

    FCC Do Not Call List (if you're registered on the list) - www.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx

    Better Business Bureau (St Louis) - odr.bbb.org/odrweb/public/GetStarted.aspx

    The day the Better Business Bureau filed a complaint was the last day i heard from them!!!  Good luck.

    That's fine, but report them to the correct government oversight office for violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) rather than for Dot-Not-Call violations. As Deke said, reporting them for Do-Not-Call violations won't do any good since debt collectors are exempt from the DNC regulations.

    So take a deep breath and consider this:

    Even though they are exempt from the DNC regulations, the FDCPA forbids debt collectors from harassing consumers with numerous phone calls.
