you need to report these people for harrassment to the FCC.  The game is...they annoy and harrass you into talking to them...get YOU upset and then hopefully pull or push you into saying things or agreeing to things set forth by them.  Don't let them do it.

    Go to www.budhibbs.com
    or www.creditinfocenter.com

They have good cease and dissest letter templates to send to theses folks and you can find the information and addresses of the collections agencies there to send your letters.

BTW folks if someone calls you and represents themselves as a credit card company and they are simply an assignee or assignor (or in most cases they have bought your debt) they are breaking the law.  ONLY the original creditor and its employees can claim company rights and they can call your family etc etc under fdcpa rules BUT a collections agency MAY NOT.

Always consult a lawyer and be aware.

it is unless they are the original creditor.

BTW  a collection agency can be only one of 2 things either an assignor or assignee OR theowner of the debt......they can't be both and they are help to FDCPA rules either way.

always consult a lawyer and be aware.

oh and from what I am seeing here they are NOT the original creditor.

    VIOLATION

keep tabs on them and you may be a rich person by the end of all of this if they keep it up.  There are fines associated with these.

always consult a lawyer and be aware.

because they would like to make sure they are dealing with the original creditor for their credit rating.  Once it goes to 3rd party collections original creditor usually has nothing to do with it and has usually written it off and now it has been bought by the collections agency (for pennies on the dollar, usually in a pooled portfolio of bad debt) who are now in the business of harrassing for claims they HOPE someone is not educated enough to be intimdated by and will pay them.

There is a FDCPA rule that they cannot represent themselves as BOA if they are not.  Record everything!!!  If you are a one party state you do not have to declare that you are recoding.  If they are BOA you may want to find out what is going on.  The original creditor does have certain rights that collections agencies do not.

You can also go to www.creditinfocenter.com to see if you can get any information.  These guys have a wide range of information and letters for validation of debt, debt settlement, etc

The caller's supposed name was Gordon Wood.  He left the main number of 1-800-521-3236.  In the message he addressed me and my husband with my maiden name as our last name....which the phone number might be listed under still.  The call was for my sister-in-law who never lived with us. He said "We need a statement from .... and it is imperative that we speak to her as soon as possible about this.  Have her call back today please."  I called back to see who they were and where they got my number from.  They told me Client Services and that she probably gave them my number....which I'm sure is not true.  Also, he was rude in asking why I was calling if I was not her to which I replied that he called MY house and I didn't want to be getting these type of phone calls for someone who does not live here!  I did not give them any personal info.

Person named Sidney Calling for a person who does not live or might not even exist, looking for DG Jr..  Now they even called my mother who live in Georgia saying that they traced this person to live with her. Then they called me, I live in Pennsylvania.  How do you connect the two?
Call back # 800-521-3236 ext. 4424.  I am noticing that the other call bck numbers also begin with "44".  Make you wonder what type of scam is this.

How can they sue the daughter when they have no clue
where she is? It would also be hard to collect anything
that way too, when you don't know where to find them.
No information stops you dead in tracks.

Sent this agency a letter demanding them to validate the debts that they are claiming you owe.  Also, tell them that phone calls are inconvenient to you and they must commicate only via mail.
I would never pay any one a nickel that calls out of the blue and demands I pay them money that instant.
Let the collectors cry all they want about deadbeats.  The fact of the matter is they have to follow the FDCPA rules.  And because many don't follow the FDCPA, they give all collectors a bad name.

You are a typical collector that always bends the rules by harrassing, bullying and not adhering to FDCPA.
You sound pretty angry and upset.  Maybe you should look at a career change.
I would suggest that no one pay a penny to anyone that calls out of the blue and demand you pay them money right away, just because they say so.  Get their address...send them a letter that makes them validate the debt and demands they only communicate via mail.
