- eternalThanks for the info on the Internal DNC list... I've been receiving dead air phone calls from these guys for the past week or so, 3-4 times daily!
Also, with Canada's national DNC list, it's good to know that charities are exempt from the banned callers, but ALSO that if you've previously done business with a particular organization that they will still be allowed to harass you.- Call type: Non-profit organization
- Sam| 4 repliesCall 17:25hrs MST, Old Timers Hockey, The unidentified caller said he was from the Calgary Police Service (this is concerning because you CAN NOT pose as a member of a police service of any kind) and was looking for donations to a number of charities and with the donation we would get tickets to a game. When it was stated that we were not interested the caller stated in an assertive voice "You don't care about children!", we stated that we were not interested again and do not call again and proceeded to hang up. I stayed on the line for a few seconds after and the telemarketer said "doesn't care about children-pause-B@#ch". The caller was guarded and didn't state his name. This phone call was recorded and I will be doing a follow up with the proper channels.
PLEASE write down as much as yo can about these callers, record the conversation if possible (Inform the telemarketer that you will be recording the conversation, this is required if you will need to use the recording at a later date for evidence).- Caller: Calgary Police Service

- Corbett replies to Sam| 3 repliesAlso just received the call, claiming to represent the Calgary Police Service wanting me to buy tickets to the old timers hockey game. Asked to be put on their do not call list. Found this forum and have since called 1-800-379-7808 and did the 9 and 1 in order to be put on the automated do not call system. I recommend if you are reading this to do the same.
- Heather replies to Mikal| 1 replysame thing happened to me.
I got a call and it was to sponser some child and they asked for $20-somewhat dollars. I said no because I can't afford that, he said "You can't afford $20 for a child?" I said no. He asked me why not and I said because I'm saving for a wedding. "You really can't afford just $20 to help this poor child?" I again said no. "You really can't set aside a small amount such as $20 from a paycheque?" NO, I CAN't. He got pissed off and then I told him I'm not donating any money and then hung up on him. He didn't call back. - MatThis number called in. I answered. A man asked "Is Mr.xx there please?" I asked "Who is calling?" He then said "We'll call you back." Then just hung up.

- don't like rude phonecallsI have received 3 calls from these people in the last few months, and EACH time, the person on the other end is extremely rude and unprofessional.
When they called last night, my mom answered. She doesn't speak english so she handed me the phone. When i said Hello, the guy said in a sarcastic and annoyed tone "Too late" and hung up on me. We don't have call display but i was compelled to do a *69 (50 cents well spent!). Why was i not surprised it was Old Timers Hockey again?
Are they a real charity? I think the real people behind this organization need to know what kind of people they have representing their charity.- Caller: Old Timers Hockey Challenge

Never pick up 800 calls. No message left. - TELL THEM YOU WANT TO BE TAKEN OFF OF ALI can also nthank the fikin canada no call list , but if you want to stop ALL calls you must phone back the stupid number that comes up on your display.
They will tell you to call customer service, so write down the number and call it.
TELL THEM YOU WANT TO BE TAKEN OFF OF ALL, I repeat (ALL!) THEIR LISTS.
They are a call center that makes their money calling for lots of different charities but all from the same list.
if you say remove me from your list. thell do it for one charity but then call you a thousnad more times fro other charities.
My next option is to go to hteir address and chuck the friken phone through their window so they get it. Well see if the first option works.- Caller: Some bloddy phone advert company
- AB Residentreceived call, no message was left
- Me tooIt has to be an automatic dialer as the telephone calls keep coming in to my telephone number at specific time of the day on each day. Today the times 8:11am,4:11pm,5:11pm and know it not finished. If I answer dead air space. Unable to reach by calling number back.
- bradHey, I just received a call from 800-525-9241. I didn't answer. This is a machine calling trying to assess the best time to call you (from a human). Since there are less callers on staff than machines, they need to focus on the best time to reach you. Whether you answer or not won't stop it, but it should stop it from trying on that time of day. The best approach is to add the number to a blocked list of numbers. Shaw Cable has a free service you can add up to 32 numbers. *60 to activate the list. Telus and Rogers may have a similar self-service.
Do not use the National Do-Not-Call List. Foreign telemarketing copmanies are 'buying' this list and calling us from outside of of the country, where they can't be legally asked to oblige. Use the telco's service instead.
It's unfortunate that canvassers have taken to using technology to focus their staff on fruitful times to call you.- Caller: Oldtimers Hockey
- bradJust did a quick Google. OldTimers Hockey Foundation's fundraising campaigns and events are managed by Xentel. www.xenteleevents.com. They have a 'contact us' section that includes customer service numbers and email addresses. You may want to call or email them to be removed from their list directly... provided they're not simply adding you to the National Do-Not-Call, which then may increase your annoying calls from outside the country. Not cool.

- Harass them back replies to chuckI suggest that we call them incessantly & then maybe they'll stop what they're doing, if they too experience this same harassment/annoyance.
The other number that I'm aware of is: 800-379-7801, I receive harassing calls from this number too. - Annoyedcall them back in order to annoy them. The number is 1-800-379-7808. We should bombard them with annoying phone calls so that they get the hint & once and for all stop calling people who have asked them to stop calling. I called them a few months ago to request that they stop calling us, yet, here, several months later, they're calling again, and again, and again. So, I see that we're going to have to harass them until they stop harassing us.
- zipmankeep calling.very annoying.Thought this problem was dealt with a year ago.More calls are coming every week.
