- KariBeen receiving this call 2x daily for the last month. When I answer dead air and then hang up. Tried to call the 1-800 number back to be removed from the list, but just got a voice recording explaining it was the Old Timer's Hockey Challenge. If I ever do get a live person one of these days will they ever get a piece of my mind!!
- Caller: Old Timer's Hockey Challenge
- Call type: Telemarketer
- PedroAfter a week of phone calls twice a day, I finally answered, talked to a manager and was removed from the phone list. They pronounce that they were from the CHR (Lethbridge's Health Unit). The police actually made an announcement in the local paper to say that this was a legitimate organization. Seriously? Where are funds going that are being raised going?? I'd say right back to telephone soliciters. Terrible.
- ChadGot the call at 5:12pm. I answered then dead air for about 3 seconds then a hangup click. Dont know who or what they want

- coldcallI remember talking to someone about OTH, but I'm pretty sure I told then NO. They started to call more often. My wife said no. Then after a dead air call again at like 8:45 pm I had had it. I found this site and called the customer service number listed above, and after I 9-1 Op out theh voice recording is like " good-by . . . for now" in a kind of creepy voice. You can't opt out if the number is blocked so careful.
Five minutes later a different number calls from a local ( maybe non800) number. I practically yell at the guy I don't want to switch power "take me off all the list" He is nice, says sorry.
Then, get this, a " 6445" or something $ DIGIT! So naturally I don't answer. So at this point I am thinking that it must be like someone above said about selling your number to other marketers. I have had the thought that all these calls could be trying to figure out when you are home or something. After the frekn 4 digit number calls a few more times I pick up the phone livid. I'm like " I don't know what kind of operation you got going, but it has to stop, please take me off all the list" He just hung up.
In conclusion, all of the 800 calls from the aforementioned number did stop, and so did most of the other calls. We still get calls from an 888 number sometimes. I would OPT-OUT!- Caller: Old timers Gang

- jackie replies to yepersit's because it's not actually them calling when that happens. i think your number gets called first by an autodialer to see if it's a live line. once you answer it, or your machine or voicemail answers it, it hangs up and your number is transferred to a callcenter and your number is once again dialed, but when you answer it there is a live person at the other end ready to dump their crap on you.
- jackiei just started getting called by this number. as with others posters here, it's dead air.
- V Luce| 1 replyI keep getting calls from 1 800 525 9214 but now I do not answer.... how do I get them to stop..

- Canadian -If you have a call display, never answer a number you dont know. This simple human Behaviour is the most Effective way to block those technical tricks.
By the way sometimes these numbers are used by secret government authorities to spy on you indirectly, And when you do some search on the number you find it "as if" telemarketing , while in fact listed as telemarketing but in reality is dirty spying job against you, ordinary citizens.
So use my methode is the most effective way, abd don't answer any call you dont know.
let those idiots play somewhere else. - Canadian -Oh yes , forgot to add something to the above, some of these calls are to find out if you are at home
can you beleive this low practice by some agencies or institutions that run on taxpayers money?
lol get a life ppl ..., and know that those citizens you disturbing with your calls have a life to attend to and lots of abligations, the least they need is your creepy calls and intrusive attemptS.

- bobI too have had these calls, Never before was there such scams... we have all had our share of telemarketers but not like this, it almost makes me think the phone company is a little pissed i got rid of my cell and is trying to disscurage me into getting another one by allowing the scams to happen- I did take away a couple hundred from their pocket when i got a land line- oop's
- ogopogosame as the others --- dead air, no voice, hang-up. every 2-3 hours for days now.

- Robert in ComoxI have also been abused by this number's silent calls in recent days, and there seems no fair recourse for we victims. I answered initially thinking that 'unknown caller' might be RCMP as seems their business practice.
Can oldtimers hockey not deal with this black eye.
The other rude caller looking for an unknown gentleman is becoming a problem here. Where is the phone company on this? - Dime too same thing...and dead air space, but also 1 time at 230 am....very annoying!
- Caller: dead air
- billy bob22 Jan 11....Dead air then hang up....I like the idea of playing music.....If I have time to waste I pretend that I'm interested in whatever it is they're offering then I pretend to have a memory lapse and ask them to repeat it all over again, then (oops) someone at the door and put the phone down for a minute, come back and pretend none of the conversation ever happened....You keep them on the line for a half hour and finally say oh....Sorry, I already have one of those....Bye. I've done this to Bell when they've called to say I've won a free cell phone. They haven't called since.
