I keep receiving calls from this number (USAA). I have NEVER done business with them and told them so. But they continue to call. Scams will spoof USAA’s number & try & get personal info. PLEASE be aware of spoofing!!! Sometimes it could be legit...but other times the scammers will spoof the number & you will get scammed!!!!

Since I am on the DNC List, the call was unsolicited, and I have no dealings with USAA, I assume it was a scam.

Caller ID = USAA.  Did not answer since I do not do business with USAA and I wouldn’t qualify for their insurance anyway (not military).  No message was left.

Just got a call that says USAA, they hung up on the answering machine.
At first I assumed it stood for Air Force, but apparently its United Services Automobile Association.
Either way, we have no association with them and its clear from the reviews here that something fishy is going on.

Caller ID said USAA - I don't believe it. I think these are scammers who are spoofing the real company. There's no reason for them to be calling us.

While the phone number belongs to USAA, the call is not from USAA.  It's a real shame that its so easy to spoof a  phone number,  The giveaway that it is a scam is that 1, it's a recording, and 2 they want you to press a number
on the phone.  A real call from USAA will  have a live person.  And 3, its the ole telephonic reduce your interest trick.

Got a call from this number for the first time today. They use a 1-800 number, as posted. Guess what......I block those. The caller ID said USAA. I don't have any relationship with this insurance company. Attempted scam stopped in it's tracks. That call blocker was some of the best money I ever spent, and today now more than ever, an important household tool to have next to a home alarm system.

USAA number spoofed by scammer.  Variant of the credit card interest rate reduction scam.  This one was called a debt forgiveness offer due to current economic conditions caused by the coranavirus.

Don't be fooled by "legit" numbers. If you are a USAA member, tell the caller you will call USAA back ON A NUMBER YOU HAVE, NOT ONE THE CALLER PROVIDES to verify it's them calling. This is a major hassle...

Ever notice that government seems to penalize those of us doing nothing wrong the most? The USA CAN-SPAM Act is a JOKE. Solicitors simply have to put an "unsubscribe" link on any email. When we click it, we are...

    - VERIFYING our email address as valid and working.
    - Providing a reassurance to the scammer that we are seeing/reading their email.
    - Simply providing more fodder for the scammers (like they care about any "laws" in the first place) to generate more accurate and current lists to sell, trade, or give to other scammers.

THE ONUS IS ALL ON THE CONSUMER or INNOCENT PARTY. This is TOTALLY BACKWARD.

Look up "Canada's Anti-SPAM Legislation"--much more practical. The SPAMMER or caller gets one bite at the apple; if they cannot prove that you PROACTIVELY requested their email or call after one attempt, they are in violation. At least this stops "legit" companies like "DirecTV" or "Dish" from robocalling or spamming."

Please demand your congressperson enact similar legislation here. WHY IS IT OUR JOB TO TELL COMPANIES TO LEAVE US THE HELL ALONE?
