800 592-1160 shows up as Am Ex. I let it go to my answering machine.  A male recorded voice claims this is not a telemarketer. Then gives out times & days of week their office is open to call them back for an important matter. (It’s so frustrating that scammers use their time & energy to - dance with the devil instead of working on their Salvation! )

Its interesting. Everyone says its a fake american express number. I do have a American express card. And i was guessing they are calling because i am late on payments. I am declaring bankruptcy so i am not paying right now. regardless. I wouldnt talk to the people calling. I would call the number on the back of your card to be sure.

Relatively sophisticated scam. Call the number and you hear an authentic-sounding Amercan Express greeting requesting the last 4 digits of your credit card. Bogus information prompts a request for a full account number and zip code. Bogus information again, fully accepted - that's the tell. Eventually an Indian-voice answers in-person. Time to hang up.

I am also getting call from the same number American Express card. Every day they called me at fix time 9.00 am today I get a chance to talk with them.  I dont have any American Express account when I start using my hard words she told they going to remove my number from the dialing list.THIS NUMBER IS FRUD AND SCAM.

Reading all of these... I have NEVER had an AmEx. Don’t want one. No idea why they are calling but I’m not going to answer.

Number called. no voicemail left as I have switched my voicemail to the generic greeting. I have NEVER had an account with AmEx. So if this is them, then they have the wrong number. Because there is NO way in hell I would be approved for any credit right now.

Checking on my account balance for this period?

also AMEX card holder for YEARS - someone is also calling me .. same thing counting 4 times I have called AMEX - they still don't fix the issue and yes it is one of thier numbers.. this time in stead of saying it is a dial error they said that they would fix it in 5 min.. it is a robo call list and they will remove my number from the list.. HA ha.. at 2:00 they called again.. only this time they did not leave a message.. so they have it 1/2 correct.. another call to AMEX on the way.. and I will block the number now tired of this 'game' .

Display says 800-528-4800 and the recorded message was directed to a former coworker, from 6 years ago! Left a call back number of 800-592-1160. Why can't someone close this scam company down?

800-592-1160 never received the call , but they left a voicemail claiming to be from Amex but it sounds suspicious . Look up the Amex number instead of calling back to this number. Sounds like a recoded scam

This scammer is still very much alive and well.  "Account Service" has attempted to call me four times since December 4, but from another toll-free number....888-819-2135.  Since I have blocked all toll-free prefixes, those calls were DOA, as was this one calling from 800-592-1160 (apparently they thought that calling from a different number would work better).  As both threads here for both numbers reveal the same things, i.e., that this is a scam caller who is spoofing numbers and trying to trick you into thinking it is American Express, you are forewarned:  don't answer, and do block 'em!  ; - )

Called my business, and I missed the call. I called back and the recording says it's American Express and says to enter the last four digits of my social security number! NOPE.

Received the same call claiming it was American Express. If you search the telephone number it comes up as a scam number. Do not reply to call. If you ever get calls claiming to be a credit card company or any other company never give them your personal information. Always call the number on the back of card.

so someone name Samer called me from supposedly American Express Card company and said i owed money on my American express card. I said No i don't have an american Express Card, he sounded very convincing. He could not tell me what I purchased but the amounts and from supposedly Amazon. Like who doesn't order from Amazon? So i said i'm at work. Let me go in my office and take down all the details all of a sudden he says his computer is not working and it's a world wide Glitch and then he hung up. He knew that he wasn't getting money out of me so he gave up. They also sent me a bill to my house with amounts owed. I can't believe how far they will go. It's scary

I first received this call 9/7/23 and have received a call everyday since.  I didn't pick up and let it go to vm.  It was a recording saying that my payment was past due.  I had recently paid off my card and cancelled the account, so I was worried my identity was stolen or something.  I called the customer service number and NOT the number from the vm.  The rep confirmed that the card was paid and there wasn't a balance.
