Keep getting calls from this number, saying they are with american express.  Looked them up, fraud.  I have received at least 30 calls from them last week on my work number

I got the call from 800-592-1160 and they said AmEx also.  I called the main office and they confirmed that it was an AmEx number and could call it.  I did and they said I had no problem.  Two days later I get the same message so called the number not realizing that they had changed the number from 800 to 801. When dialed a got a personal message so quickly hung up.  I called AmEx to see what was going on and it wasn't until then I realized the change in the area code.  They must think you would not catch this especially after checking out the 800 number and it being alright.

I call this a scam call as NEVER had an Amex card in my life. and the guy talks with a lisp to boot.

I got a call from 623-492-8037 telling me to call AMEX back at 1-800-592-1160. This is a fraudulent number and is NOT AMEX. I called AMEX and they told me to disregard that number and not to call it.

Phishing. And not an AMEX cardholder!

Had 2 messages on my work phone number asking me to call them back at earliest convenience about an urgent business matter.   1. I have never had an AmEx card. 2. My direct dial work number - how/where did they get it? 3. Is automated message that is left.

All of you idiots that state that this phone number is NOT American Express are complete morons. You can call the American Express cardholder services number (800-635-5955) which is listed on the back of your AMEX card, and CONFIRM with them that this is, in fact, A LEGITIMATE AMERICAN EXPRESS PHONE NUMBER.

Just because it may have been legitimate for you, doesn't mean it is a legitimate for everyone else.  Criminals will spoof the number of legitimate company, in order to get your personal information.  When in doubt, contact the card provider using the number on the back of the card.

why is it that WhitePages lists this number as a Scam or Fraud and also why does it also state that the other number you gave also have potential for being the same? Not to mention that AMEX’s own number (last 7 digits) DON’T even match those connected to the one here!

Received many calls, no messages. Lists on Caller ID as Toll Free Call. Will call several times a day. Intrusive and irritating.

I don't have account with them and this is not the first they have call and left a voice Mesaage.

It is definitely Amex calling. I sent tweet to Amex and they confirmed the number was theirs and it was their Account Service team.

I have been getting several hang-up calls from this number.  I back up the front desk at our medical facility, and notice more and more of these type calls coming through.  They are a waste of our time and resources.

This number is blocked as SPAM by Mr. Number App.  I thought I would try calling it.  Sounds like typical customer service call center where they ask for last few digits of your account number, zip code, etc to match with your phone number.  (I gave all fake information)  When I reached an agent, they told me they were based in India.  I didn't think AmEx had customer service in India, but maybe they do now that their customer service has gotten so bad...  I don't even have an AmEx card, so why would they be calling me?  SCAM
