Called using various names: Tracey, Robert, Jason

Just received a call from 800-616-5473 and didn't think anything of it. The caller asked for Shannon so I told her she had the wrong number and we ended the call. She called back a minute later and stated she was looking for one of my family members. She said Shannon ........ I told her that was my last name but I wasn't related to anybody named Shannon. So it looks like they look up addresses to call your neighbors (as another stated) and last names in hopes of reaching your family members.....WATCH OUT!!!

annoying!! JUst want to harass me and they don't realize I am not the person they are looking for.  I am tired of screaming into the phone...these people are simply there to try and cause one to cry out loud.

if this the only addres to send a cease and desist letter to? I have asked for written correspondence, they refuse, I have asked for settlement in writing, they refused, just wondering what step to take next, will try send letter to this address, Thanks.

LHR, I have filed a police report. Going to take them to court.  Never stop calling, have the wrong person.  Making sexaual comments to me. I can't even begin to tell you waht has been said to me.  My phone company is in the process of tracing the address and owner of this company.  I will see them in court.  They will never quit calling.

My mom called me and told me that she had recieved a call from LHS asking for me. First of all, she was rude to my mom. She left her number and my supposed file number. I returned the call and the lady (Samantha Campbell) said that this was regarding a collections for a credit card that I did not recognize, and when I questioned it further, she asked if I lived in Knoxville, and I explained to her that I have never lived outside of the state of California. She seemed to think that she knew where I worked here, and when I told her that she was wrong she got attitude with me. She then asked if XXXX were the last four of my SSN, and when I told her no, that those were not mine, she got even bitchy-er (if that's even a word) and said that then I didn't have anything to worry about if that wasn't my numbers, when five minutes before she was insisting that I opened this account and paid on it for 8 months. If you recieve a call from this company, before you pay anything, make sure that it is really YOU that they are looking for, and not someone else with your name.

You settled the debt for 50 cents on the dollar! Really! Realize that it DOES NOT report to the credit bureaus as "Paid In full"??? It "resets" the debt for 7 more years on your credit report. Then it usually shows as "Settled/Paid In LESS than Full Amount", f*cking you even more as you have to pay taxes on the non-paid amount AND can be sold off as "Bad Debt" to ANOTHER collection agency so THEY can come after you.

If you are being honest, your wife did not help you that much, it might come back to bite you, again.

Question is..... WHO do they buy debt from? Who are some of the banks/lenders they buy the debt from? There are a bunch of people saying they are being harassed and do not owe the debt (I believe them) but the others, no one is saying WHO they are buying the debt from.

i got a letter on writing removal on my credit report

you know you are an idiot.  you are half right.  If the debt was in a 3rd party collection agency then if would show as legally paid less than what was owed.  A debt purchaser has full rights over the trade line and can report it how they want or even remove it which is what they do.  I love the fact that people will believe all the bad stuff and not beleive any of the good stuff.  I too settled my account with them and they removed their info off my credit report which acctually made my credit score go up.  SO until you actually have a clue on what you are talking about i would not post another thing since you sound like a [***] idiot

they also dont send 1099 at the end of the years so it is not considered income. I made sure i found that out before i did.  Even of they didnt do that, the amount i saved far out weighed the amount that I would have owed in taxes.

Harrassing, telling my parents that I'm going to jail because of an unpaid $72.00 debt from over 10+ years ago.  Repeated calling when i tell them to contact by mail.

By the way...I have no debt on the contract they (bought)....and they have been calling relatives telling them personal info (lies) concerning this debt.

I have been receiving calls from LHR since 11/08. They are calling my work 1-2x a week. I have told them to stop contacting me at work and by mail only, but they keep calling my work. My supervisor answered one of their calls and was hung up on when she asked what the call was regarding. She called the # back and asked to be took off their call list since was place of employment. Mr. Caruthers told her I had not told them not to call at work and he would not take the # off and hung up on her. I do not even know what debt they are trying to collect. I am placing a complaint on them today.

The guy called on 02/09/2009 and left message saying it's urgent, it's regarding financial matter, it's about my account with bank of America. He said he was with LHR. He left his phone number 1-800-616-5473.

Working for theese lowlifes was one of the worst decisions i have made. I never thought I would work for a collections agency, but while I was attending a local college Someone referred me to work there. Just to give you a little information of what goes on at LHR INC, read the following :
    I was trained on the FDCPA - regulations on fair debt collections practicing, two weeks of this training, paid $10/hr... then if you are hired everything changes. They teach and encourage unfair buisness practices. They want you to lie and threat people regarding credit reports and lawsuits. Throughout the day there would be crowds of collectors surrounding an individuals cubicle encouraging that individual to cotinue the harassment and lies and foolish games tourmenting people on the other end of the phone line. It was common to hear collectors shouting at people on the other end of the phone line saying things like " you are a dirty debtor and a theif",or  "hey scumbag why dont you pay your bills" It is a complete circus show in this place. they would hold "mass firings" in groups of 5, 10, 15 even 20 employees at a time. one day they even fired about 1/3 of the employees. Around tax time they hire more people and a few months later they get rid of everyone. It is all funny because i was nice to people on the phone and in that business its hard to do but as they say, you get more bees with honey. I was very succesful at LHR and I felt i was actually helping people by offering settlements ususally around 50% of what the full balance was on the outstanding account. I have seen them settle a debt of $25,000 for under $1000. I had people thank me for all my help saying that at least 10 other people called from LHR and i was the only decent person that they talked to and they would be happy to resolve the issue with me rather than the animals that called in the past. I was fired for no aparent reason one day, probably because i swam against the current there. I was succesful, and right before i was getting my paid vacation, benefits and pay raise they let me go.
    But know this, theese people are very scared that they will loose their jobs because of lawsuits filed, even the owners are afraid they will be shut down. You may not know this but this place is constantly being sued and some attourneys around the country have bilboards directed only at those who are called by LHR. In almost every single call that is made they break the law. They use a program called accurant to find out addresses phone numbers and neighbors and family to track you down. The head managment says "call all neighbors and tell them to leave notes on the debtors door". They tell you to call places of employment repeatedly untill you get paid. Theese people are lowest of low. Not all of them but most of them.. Another thing is that they try to make employees believe that they are an "important account manager". They tell them to lie and say you work for an attourney or a legal rep. They will, in every call, put you on hold and say they need to talk to an attourney or say let me transfer you to our legal department, whn they are only giving the phone to the person next to them. Dont believe this nonsense. If you are called by LHR INC  please call an attourney. Record all coversations on the phone with these people. This will be the evidence provided in a court. Instead of paying some old debt or even invalid debt LHR will be paying you. The reason why I put this info out here is because you have rights to pursue a happy life without theese cowards getting in the way. Pursue your hapiness and take the job away from the guys and gals that took my job from me. Dont be afraid when your on the phone with them.
