Said he was from Dell calling about the errors on my Dell computer. these guys have obviously hacked Dell in the past since they have name, address, System tag, etc. Don't give these fools any information! Keep them on the line if you can - ask how they are doing, talk about the weather, "wait for you computer", it raises the cost of this BS.

This is a SCAM Keep this in mind Dell or Microsoft will NEVER call you EVER!  I have 7 Dell computers so I am very familiar with Dell and how they operate. Report this number to the Feds if they call you. I just can't be more serious, do not even chat with them and their Indian accent. Remember, they say they are Dell but they are not.

Dell is enabling financial terrorism of their customers.
To this date, although Dell is aware of this scam using their customer database, they still haven't done anything to stop this scam that has been going on for years and new customers are still getting scammed. Their tech customer support dept. is still outsourced to India and they have done nothing to notify and warn their customers about this scam let alone secure their customers' information.
I will never ever purchase another Dell product

I didn't recognize the number so I didn't respond.  When the answering machine picked up, there was some background noise, but nothing distinct. I suspect these are the same people calling from 877-283-8354.  I've received three calls from the other number in two days, but after reading the comments on here about it, when the second and third call came in, I immediately clicked in and then hung up to discourage them.  I'll do the same if I get another call from this number.  I don't think it's coincidence that I got this call the day after I did the quick hang up for the other.  The notes on the other number indicate they believe these people have info from the big Yahoo hack.  If it was legit, they'd have left a message.  No message left, not legit. Caller ID said "Not Provided."

Call ID shows this is a Dell Home Support number and based on the comments it appears everyone has a Dell of some type.  However, since do not talk to numbers I do not recognize; I looked up Dell support and found the number.  Doesn't mean it is from Dell since the scammers can make it seem like any number.  Like the CIA can make a hack look like it came from Russia - just saying.

Here is the Dell link that has this number listed.  http://www.dell.com/support/incidents-online/ ... c?ref=contactus

They wanted a service tag # from me & of course I didn't give these [***] anything. Then I told them tell me if this sounds like I'm hang'in up & banged the phone down.

This is a SCAM! I have 7 Dell computers and use their support. The ONLY time a Dell tech will call you is IF you have started a case number and they are working on your computer. This phone number is a SCAM. Dell and Microsoft never call you. These hackers want into your computer to take your identity and to do damage to your computer. Hang up and report them to the FBI. Dell has a phone number you can call that does just that. PLEASE DON'T BE FOOLED and never give control of your computer to anyone and watch those POP UP ads that say they found 49 or so viruses on your computer so call this number and they will remove the viruses. You call the number, they take over your computer, infect you and then want money. Always back-up your computer files off the computer and do frequent restore points. The newest thing is RANSOME WARE. They lock up your computer and then ask for a ransom of $300 - $3000 to give you back your files. If you have backed them up then they can keep the files and you can do a virus clean out. These hackers get paid by how many people fall for their lies. So every time someone falls for this story they get paid. Don't you get fooled let them be the fool. They are NOT Dell
