Caller ID: Dell. Sounded like a call center with 100 people talking in background. The guy had a very heavy Indian accent. He said my computer was slowing down the entire internet and he wanted to log in remotely so that he could fix the problem. Told him to get lost and hung up.

Have called today 8 TIMES back to back even when told not to call again! Kept asking for me and wanted to talk to me about my computer!! Foreign Pakistani accent. Would not give info to my husband.

Persistent [***]!  We don't answer, but 2 calls in 15 minutes.

"James" from Dell. I asked his ext "9212" says need service. I told him it is a scam and he says "you cannot stop us" "I have thousands of phone numbers."

Several calls - no voicemail - I don't answer numbers I do not know but seriously 5 calls between 345 & 400pm this afternoon

they called my husband's cell phone today to say there was a lot of credit card activity on one of our Dell computers. When my husband asked him why he was looking at our computer , the man hung up. Was Indian or some other foreign accent

Have received two calls from 1-800-624-9896; one time when I answered, a foreign voice said he was from Dell. I hung up. The second time a day later, I did not answer.

Dell will never call you unless they have told you that they will after you have contacted them first about something.
If you get a call from these guys, Keep them on the phone as long as you can, but do not let them remote into your computer.

If you get a call from these guys, and you have the time, keep them on the phone as long as you can, but do not let them remote into your computer (log on to your computer). Do not give them any money. The only way to stop these guys is to hit them in the pocket.

Got a call from these clowns just now.  Apparently, not much is being done to stop them, based on the fact that these posts go back to 2015 from the same number.  Thanks, FTC.

Thanks for your posters I did not answer but they have called about 10 times today and are really ticking me off !!!!!!
The number looked familiar so I came here and realized that they have called me before while I was using Dell Support !

Called my cell 5 times. When I answered the fourth time they hung up. When I answered fifth time he said he was from Dell and asked me if I was by my computer.  I said no and he hung up.

I received several calls from this number and the person is claiming to be dell. When you call the number back it says Dell. It is a fraud!

Gloria - We stupidly fell for it and started giving them access to our computer. We became suspicious and ended the call but also have no idea if they still have access to my computer.  Did they ever use any information from your computer?  It looks like it has been over 2 years so you have experience..

They called me that many times too. I called Verizon and had them block the number

5 calls in two days with no message left.  Call back goes to "Dell" or "Dow" or "Dowl" - difficult to understand.  Very annoying.

last one week or more receiving calls from this number. Don't know who calls and what is the purpose. When we say "Hello" the other party hangs up. It is bothering us a lot

The number that made this so called scam call is the same number that someone calls to reach Dell. So my suggestion is that Dell change its telephone number and abandon the number 800-624-9896. That say people like me won't get pissed off at Dell, and decide never to buy anymore of their products. Further if anyone has Michael Dell's private cell number or home number please post it online so we can annoy him because he makes a lot of money and the result is we get the annoying scam calls.
