- Jingle Grunges| 2 repliesCalls twice a day, 8:00 am and 5:30 pm before and after the bank closes. I am convinced this is not the bank. Phone company won't stop them from calling me. They are harassing me with daily calls twice a day during the week.
- Jacob replies to Jingle Grunges| 1 replyBlah Blah Blah.....We wouldn't even be able to open the time zones untill 9 am. You people crack me up. I'm dieing laughing.
- P replies to JacobUhhh, that doesn't make sense. I'm guessing you're one of Wells Fargo's highly esteemed collections reps? Dear everyone who reads about this number. It is a Wells Fargo number. If you get a call with this number in your caller ID a few different scenarios are possible. A. You have a WF Credit Card and your account is past due. However, the number that should show up would be the area code of the center that's calling you. B. The security department wants to verify charges you made. They too, call from a different number. C. You don't have a credit card with WF, but your phone number is inadvertently on someone's account or someone who used to share that number still has it on their account. D. You are getting a call from someone who is spoofing the caller id. They would want you to believe that it's WF so that they can either elicit personal info from you to steal your identity, or to get your card number to put a large charge on it.
The best thing to do in any case is: A. If you do have a WF account, call them back at a number that you have on a printout, a card, or from their actual website. B. If you don't have a WF account, get a number from their website and call it, and double check that your phone number isn't on someone else's account. If not, reporting can help figure this out.

or perhaps a report to your phone company to see if they can trace the number may help. It's a tough situation because you don't actually know the number of who's trying to call you.
Whatever you do: A. don't give information to whoever is calling you. Arm yourself with info about the latest phone fraud scams to be able to identify when someone is trying to scam you. B. Don't call WF and get p*ssed off. Most likely it's not them, and you're making someone who already hates their job dread life a little more. - Alf800 number...does not leave message
- NoreneI have Wells Fargo accounts but they won't speak to anyone but my husband. They refuse to tell be what the calls are about. All my accounts are paid up to date.
- Caller: Wells Fargo ??
- Call type: Debt collector
- tom jonesI also received a call although it was an automated call requesting me to activate my new credit card ,but the thing is my card has been activated and does not expire for another 3 years. The call came from this number 800-642-4720
- Caller: wells fargo
- AnnaHow many calls from WF do I have to take, leave me alone
- InOldSavannahFor two months, every day, 2 to 4 times a day from around 8am to 10pm Wells Fargo calls my house. I don't have an account of any kind with this bank. The call is made by a person and not a fax or automated call and in spite of telling this person I don't want any contact with Wells Fargo the calls keep coming.
I called the number back, which is their customer service number and they connected me with their "security department" who assured me the calls will stop but since then there has been an increase in the number of nothing more than harassing calls.
I called my phone carrier which unfortunately is AT&T and unless you fork over $2.00 a month to block this number they will do absolutely nothing.
Even after I changed my number to a private unlisted number the phone calls continue which leads me to believe that AT&T gave out my number without my permission. I asked this lousy excuse for a phone company to issue me a new private unlisted number and they said they would but that would be a $30.00 charge even though as a customer of theirs it would seem they would not want some stupid bank from harassing one of their customers but AT&T is as money hungry as Wells Fargo is as harassing.
I think I will drop AT&T for some cell service which in the past I personally have had no need for.
Wells Fargo , by now , should realize that after all the hell they have put me through they will never get any business from me but they continue to call.
My phone has a listings of all of their calls from all times of the day and night. I have asked them (Wells Fargo) to stop calling me, by phone, e-mail and to the individual(s) that place the calls but still they call.
I wonder if there is a law that they can be prosecuted under since asking and pleading to stop the calls have had no affect.- Caller: Wells Fargo Bank

- mystery replies to GeorgeI have seen that when Well Fargo calls the name shows up on the caller ID as such but this number continues to come up under this 800-642-4720 and it doesn't state Wells Fargo at all. Just might be a scam?
- RunAndGunThis is a 3d party service connected to Wells Fargo they offer a variety of services to Wells Fargo Customers. If you read the disclosure information when you join Wells Fargo they tell you that by opening an account you give the right to 3d party companies to contact you. The only way to stop these calls is to close your account and go to a different bank (they too have this service though). So the only way to avoid the call is don't answer.

- u know who! replies to fed up| 1 replyThe first number is Wells Fargo. Pay your bills!
- You-Know-Who in AKAnswered the call and had a bot tell me this was a "Wells Fargo telemarketing call" and if I wanted further information, I should call 1-800-642-4720. That was the whole message.
When I called the 800 number and ran through all the voice menus, I finally ended up with a "representative". I gave him our phone number and he was unable to tell me which one of the three individual Wells Fargo account holders they were trying to contact. He then asked for my credit card number. When I told him I didn't have a Wells Fargo credit card, he insisted that I had to give him my bank account or social security number. AS IF!!!
I told him that bot calls are not legal and asked him to block all calls to our number. He said that unless he could identify the person the bot call was intended for, he could not remove the phone number from the calling list.
I did explain that I could not give him the account numbers or social security numbers of everyone in the building who might have a Wells Fargo account and that I would be filing a complaint with the Do Not Call List website.- Caller: Wells Fargo

- MarcellaI have recieved several calls from this number with recorded messages on my answering machine. They don't identify themselves or give any information about themselves. They just state that there have been transactions made on my credit card, and that these need to stop by July 15th. It's a hoax, I know, and I will not call this number back. There are lots of scams circulating around, and I have gotten alot of telemarketing scammers leaving messages on my answering machine.
- JMThe timing of this call happened to coincide with me having opened a legitimate email from Wells Fargo regarding an "offer to apply for a credit card." I currently bank with WF but after having been out of work for a long time due to having been ill (with no medical insurance), the thought that I could get a credit card is laughable. A marketer by trade, I opened the email to see if it was tailored to me or if it was just a stock marketing piece aimed at all their banking customers who do not hold credit cards with them. I rather suspect it's the latter. I like Wells Fargo but I'll be updating my preferences to stop telemarketing calls (I just didn't think I'd get them since I don't qualify for anything!).

- Caller: Claims to be Wells Fargo, but isn't.
- ROBDEBITVery creepy... weird enough to be funny...
They better not keep calling me. - irritatedPlease stop the calls. I dont even have a Wells Fargo Acct.
- Caller: Wells Fargo
- Paul replies to pjI get calls all the time listed as 800 service from many different companies. Either it is scam setup or there is a service that telemarketers use that comes in as 800 service to hide their ID.
My phone allows me to block incoming numbers so when I verify a bogus call I block the number. They do use a bunch of numbers so when you block one they use another but eventually if you keep blocking them they finally go away.
