- Tiger, Ventura County CAThe caller, UNAVAILBLE ( displayed as ID ) ,called us @ 08:44, 12.31.2015 for 6th time. We opted not to answer unwanted call on the spot per FTC suggestion. Today, it did left a male message " message for Sxxx A. ( my wife's name. ),", then no message actuals left. When returned the call hiding my number. A message : please enter last 4 digits of your credit card. It is very hard to get though to talk with real " Wells Fargo Bank " staff! My wife uses Wells Fargo often. I don't.
Caller: UNAVAILABLE. ( Wells FARGO Fraud Division? ), other reporters said.
According http.800notes.com above this number has been used to defraud others credit card information since 2011.

- Wells No MoreReceived the second automated call this morning about a new card Wells Fargo is sending me, apparently because they detected fraudulent activity.
Really? I don't know any other bank or credit card company that feels the need to repeatedly harass their customers in this manner. I'm switching banks!- Caller: Wells Fargo
- Ms Picky replies to Tiger, Ventura County, CA.| 1 replyi think people who say this number has been used for fraudulent purposes have either been spoofed or they may not remember the number correctly. i just called ------*7420* and got some robo BS artist trying to sell me a cruise. for free, yet. yeah. turns out i'd reversed 2 digits of the bank's number, which is 800-642-4720. it's what is printed on the back of my credit card.
- MattIt is real. It is wells fargo calling about a card then sent me a week ago. I need to take it off the microwave, call the number on the card, and activate it before my current card is deactivated.
- Caller: Wells fargo
- Call type: Event reminder
- Linda replies to pjScammers can get Wells Fargo to show on Caller ID. Wells Fargo DOES NOT do auto calls like this from an 800 number. There is nothing on your web link to indicate that they do!

Yes, it is Well Fargo. My call came from their fraud department.

CALL THE NUMBER ON THE BACK OF YOUR CARD - RJL| 1 reply1800 542-8047 is a scam number who will tell you that you are eligible to lower your rates on your credit cards. The callers name was David (Dave) Navvaro and he says he is calling from Card Services. DO NOT give this guys ANY information AT ALL. He called my number 15 times in 15 minutes. No Card Service representative from any bank institution would do that. I did some research online and found that these are scammers. When he called me again this morning I told him I was not interested in lowering my rate (I didn't want to make him made) but he starting yelling at me that I am stupid to not want to lower my rate. In any event, a few minutes later I got a call from number 954-542-8047 from a woman who identified herself from card services and wanted to know WHY I turned down the offer! Could you imagine? What rep from any bank would care so much??? SCAMMERS. DO NOT GIVE ANY INFO. She eventually hung up on me after I told her they are trying to scam me and it's not happening. Before she hung up she said she was cancelling all my credit cards. Truly amazing,
- Caller: Card Services
- RJL replies to RJLCorrection: The two numbers that called my cell were
1 800 642-4720 AND 954-542-8047 - RJL replies to Ventura CaliYou must be part of the scam. Whoever is on this thread stating that the number 800 642 4720 is legit is not being truthful. I don't care what the internet says. My first search of this number yielded a result from Wells Fargo but if you delve deeper, its not. DO NOT BELIEVE ANYONE ON THIS THREAD WHO SAYS THIS NUMBER IS FOR REAL.
- RJL replies to SusieSusie, are you also part of this SCAM???
- RJL replies to Ms PickyYou must be calling me a blind idiot. I see the number with my own two eyes. They called me 15 times in 15 minutes.

- AlexThey sent me an unsolicited well Fargo credit card that I never requested . 1) call: 866-537-8424 or 925-825-7600 outside the us . 2) call customer service at 800-642-4720. I think they are doing illegal practice of credit card offers , it's a non-profit organization of business. I don't really trust that credit card at all , I am gonna throwing it in gabadge. I heard that well Fargo is scamming their customer . They are under investigation and possibly lawsuit against them .
- Caller: 800-642-4720/877-202-6688/ zombie account / phishing account /fake account.
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- annoyedI think it's safe to say this is scam. They are from Wells Fargo, true. But what gave it away is that the man on the phone said I had a "platinum card" which I do not, I have a totally different credit card with them. He also stated the balance of that card, and again that balance was incorrect, I in fact owe a different amount. Excuse my language, but I'm sick of these stupid [***] who don't have anything better to do but harass people on incorrect information.
- Caller: Wells Fargo
- Call type: Unwanted
- annoyedSO on top of the "representative" having incorrect info on my card, I signed in to see what my contact methods were and they do not even have my updated telephone number on file to call me.
