- Terry replies to JCThis is a hacker that changes his call display to the Microsoft help line. I recieved 13 calls this morning in less than an hour. The first few times I answered and there was no one there.
They always sound foreign (East Indian & misc). I found a comment in Google that a caller knew his Microsoft licence number and wanted to confirm it. After he did, he realized it was a mistake. 3 days later he was hacked. In the event someone from this number calls you and speaks to you - hang up. - Sandra BargerGot charged on my bank account statement but don't know why. What do you do?

- Anna replies to Carolyn| 1 replyHow did you get back into your account? Am trying everything and no one helping me. Same thing happened to me I called a number from the internet who I thought where Microsoft turned out they where smammers from India and demanding money off me to help me back into my account. They have no hacked my account. I have just emailed Microsoft support and they gave me this number to call but when I have googled the number I have read all these reviews. I just want to get back into my account.
- LindaI received a call from an individual who stated that he was calling from AOL. He claimed that I had sent 1382 emails in the last 72 hours. This was not indicated in my send box. He was pressuring me to allow him to transfer my call to Microsoft. He claimed this issue was caused by Microsoft and he continued to try to persuade me to allow him to connect me with Microsoft. I told him no. I have had other attempts to scam me re Microsoft. When I checked out the number, guess what it was - the one listed above. When I called AOL, they denied having their employees call with a problem.
- Caller: allegedly AOL
- MK replies to AnnaThis happened to me too. I didn't pay them money, but I did give them my email address. From there they changed my passwords. All you have to do is reset your password. Go to the sign in page, click on Can't access my account, and follow instructions from there. You'll receive a code via text or email, in order to do the reset. If you still can't log in, you may have to continue with the next step, which is to fill out a report. These guys keep it simple, they change your password, but don't change anything else; it's too time consuming. The trick to this scam is to get your money right away. I thought they were legit, because my cell phone carrier patched me through to them. I guess the phone carrier agent, googled the text support number and got those guys.
- rhpaikI just check my credit card statements and there were $300 charge by this company, I never owned xbox, and I don't know how they even got my credit card information!!!
- CHI don't recall this number calling. I never answer 800 #'s. I came upon this number when my credit card company had this number/company and charges show up as a questionable charge on my credit card. Thankful the credit card company alerted me of the charges and I am not responsible. I do not do business with Microsoft, nor have I ever. Charges on card said MSFT *WINDOWS PHONE 800-642-7676 WA.

- lily replies to ws| 2 repliesI got a call from this number yesterday. Caller ID said it was Microsoft - The person said that Microsoft was getting hundreds of error and virus messages from my computer. I figured a scam and hung up, ran my virus scanner and my machine is clean. SCAM
- StuieMicrosoft calling that they detect errors on my computer. Indian accent. I played along and he asked me to open Event Viewer which I told him didn't work. He then asked me to type a web address and I asked him to repeat it phonetically several times. He finally got frustrated after 10 minutes and told me to have a nice day.
This is a know scam. If they are able to convince you to follow their commands they will have you start a remote session using SupRemo Control (www.supremocontrol.com) whereby they will take over your machine and cause havoc.- Caller: He said Microsoft. It wasn't.
- Call type: Prank

- KennVFRidrNoticed two bogus charges pending in my checking account via my MC debit card. Billed as "Microsoft *XBOX 08006427676 NV". I've been in contact with bank, and will contest charges if they actually go though. Don't know where they acquired my card number, but I cancelled it as soon as I noticed the charges yesterday.
- Caller: Debit card charges in my checking account
- UnknownNo calls but a lot of charges on my daughters account. Bank is investigating
- Tresha S. replies to RobYou are spot on! I just received another call from them today, Nov. 2015. I nearly fell for it, my friend DID fall for it. They put a virus on your computer then want you to pay them to take it off, crazy scam. I don't know how they get away with it year after year. I called Microsoft, and they acted interested to find the culprit, but this lets me know they could care less.
- AnaHad some Indian man call, mentioned my email address, and that he was from Microsoft. He then told me that I my email showed signs of being hacked from people in Mexico and Nigeria but that he could show me who the people were if I put in the information he was telling me. He asked if I could turn on my computer and we could get started. At which time I told him "Nice try" and hung up. I don't even have a Windows computer. I don't even have a computer. I use an iPad.
- MaeReceived a call and he said he was from Microsoft And that my computer was being hacked. I told him I wasn't on the computer and that I hadn't been In 4 days or so. He asked me to get on it and he could help me fix it so it couldn't be hacked. "Where did you call from?"
I asked. And click, he hung up.- Caller: Microsoft
- Call type: Prank
- CynthiaThis is a Microsoft number but the caller is spoofing the Microsoft name and number 800-642-7676. I received several calls about a month ago and immediately realized it was a scam. That time the caller said they were from Dell. They knew my laptop model and claimed I had "errors" on my computer. Neither Dell nor Microsoft knows or cares about any "errors" on my computer and I wasn't about to let them into my machine. Today they called and my caller ID showed the spoofed name and number. I hung up. This is no survey. They are extortionists and scammers. DON'T FALL FOR IT.
- Caller: "Microsoft"
