- AyabaCaller id said Sears credit card, option 1 to speak with an agent or option 2 to decline lowering my interest rate. After pushing 1 to speak with an agent, I asked to be removed from the call list and the guy on the line asked if I knew what call was about, I again asked to be removed from their calling list as I don't have any credit cards and he proceeded to tell me that their system shows I have several. After I told him I don't have any again and that I'm too young to have one, he accepted that and said he'd remove my number. It's July 21, I'll update if I get another call

- Brandy replies to WhoI work for sears credit card services. This number is our actual customer service number but we are disconnecting it due to spam. Someone is spoofing the number and acting like they are lowering rates but they are actually trying to get your info. Banks will never call you up to lower your rates. Block the number and NEVER give out your personal info when receiving phone calls. Banks dont need it if they are calling you!

- Resident47| 1 replySeveral sources corroborate the misuse of a genuine Sears customer service number, name-tagged "SearsCreditCard" on Caller ID. As noted here many times we got a tiresome credit reprice fraud in the early evening of 21 August. First the dialer delivered a canned female track both heard and received dozens of times in the past several years. This is the "rushed woman" version with a "wet" 'plosive for every 'k' sound. You can almost feel the spittle when she says "credit card account" and "final courtesy call". A transcript was posted on 22 June 2018 by "L". (https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-800-669-8488/9)
I pressed for an agent to find how many Telemarketing Sales Rule violations I'd hear, beyond the more obvious disturbance of a DNC-registered number and the canned opening. After the familiar transfer "bloip" I was subjected to yet another reedy South Asian man from "Card Services" struggling to complete his script, and capping most sentences with "okay". His clumsy English pronunciation was often phonetic. He pronounced "eligible" as "el-LIG-uh-bell", much like "dirigible". His employer's cheap carrier had such weak audio I could barely hear this clown. So far it was a typical Indian criminal fraud experience.
His response to my first question was also entirely typical: "Which of my credit accounts does this concern?" / "This is for all your existing credit cards, sir ..." Yes, naturally it's a magical blanket rate reduction, a reward for my "good credit history" behavior ... with all those cards I abandoned a decade ago, not long after the first "lower interest rate" call blitzes began to plague the nation. Since he brought it up, I asked if he had my entire credit history in front of him. He said he did. I countered that I had not given my name. "You got my Social Security number in front of you? 'Cause that's how you pull credit reports." Two seconds silence and rude disconnection followed.
For anyone scoring at home, I counted fourteen spoken TSR violations, a/k/a "lies", within my two minutes of annoyance, five of them within the canned part.- Caller: Credit reprice curry breath

- Puplady| 1 replyI have gotten so I screen all my calls unless I know for sure who it is. If they don't leave a message, I figure they are NOT important. Most I figure they are scams or looking for donations to different groups and I don't donated.
- Resident47 replies to PupladyLet's say we stick to remarks about this particular caller and not general laments about mistrust of a ringing phone.
