Consumer Affairs - LAMETFirst of all the websites did not SELL your info.
If you took the $$ off your current order offers. In the terms and conditions of the money off offer - it states you are signing up for this worthless memebership program for a trial period. Once the trial period is over and you do not cancel - they charge you a monthly fee.
Yes it is a worthless membership program that no one wants to willingly sign up for so they sell it via other internet retailers via the money off offers and in some cases surveys!
They rely heavily on you the consumer not taking a minute to read what you are agreeing to.
Always read the terms and conditions for any website - they can be located at the bottom of the screen where you find Contact US and Site Map.
Although I avoid these charges by being careful about what I am agreeing to - I always send the website that I see these offers on to stop doing business with the membership programs - that although they are not responsible for what you choose to do - they get blamed for it. - bah!Reservation Rewards got us - just noticed it today as a pending transaction - apparently we got enrolled after my wife ordered birthday invitations from shutterfly.com
They said they would cancel it and refund last month's charge within 5 days. - It's all our problem . . .When did stealing become legal in this country? If I write a bad check, it is 'theft by deception' and the store will prosecute "to the full extent of the law". Why are companies like this allowed to continue and why are the executives imprisoned? This is not a rant, I am really interested in knowing why this is so.
- AnabelI noticed that there was this charge on my account twice for $12.00 dollars. I called the 800-723-7031 and they said I enroll this program when I got movie tickets from movie.com... I told them that I never authorized anyone to take money from my account and they canceled my "membership" and they are giving me my money back....
- matt first data replies to mommyyou can dispute the charges on your credit card or with your bank.

Reservation Rewards Customer Service - irratation| 1 replyI just saw this $12 fee for the first time. I too believe it was fandango, I will be contacting the reservation.com site, better business bureau and contacting my congressman, who knows I may contact the local news station.. I know that there are laws for these types of scams and new things coming up all the time to help protect people. I'll also be canceling my credit card and getting a new one immediately. I know it's only $12 but they need to be put on notice.

- mr bngapparently Allegiant Air does the same thing...when i booked a flight on Allegiant Air this was also added to my fees with out me really knowing that it was...pretty [***] sneeky of these companies to elude consumers...12 dollars here and there adds up and i'm sure these people are making a killing off of us!

- mr bng replies to irratationI filed a complaint with the BBB
- mhclaxton| 2 repliesEveryone who has posted here: Please go to the Better Business Bureau Website (bbb.org) and file a complaint. If enough people file complaints, hopefully we can get this place shut down. I'm sure what they're doing is legal, but it is very shady. Think of all the elderly folks that have not noticed the charges and continue to get scammed each month.
We need to do a public good and stop this place.- Caller: Reservation Rewards
- mhclaxton replies to mhclaxtonAlso, you may consider filing complaints against the companies that sponsor Reservation Rewards, such as Fandango, Orbitz, etc.
