Reservation Rewards is but one of the main companies disguises. You may also know them as Shopper Discounts & Rewards, and Travel Values Plus. But these last two are truely ironic; Buyer Assurance and Wallet Shield. Webloyalty.com, based in Norwalk CT, is the real evil behind the many faces. You might wish to give the company 'heads' a thing or two to think about, they can be reached here:

in july i bought movie tickets from movietickets.com and in august they started charging me the $12 fee, and again this month. i called the 800 number and the gentlemen said that they always try to make it clear that we're signing up for the reservations reward- i'm sure it's a standard saying. he said he would reverse my transaction fees (taking 3-5 business days) and i would get an email confirming my "membership" cancellation. nonetheless, i'm sure many people are getting scammed and do not yet realize it. i'm going to make a claim anyway to my bank, more people should do the same to prevent other people getting screwed.

Thank you for posting this! I just noticed three $12.00 charges from this company. I called, and it turns out when my wife bought movie tickets from FANDANGO.com, she didn't "uncheck" the box signing up for this scam. The operator assured me I was entitled to all kinds of discounts even though I was supposedly a member of this scam for three months and I had never heard of them before. Anyways, the operator canceled my "membership" but I had to ask for the refund which she did with no arguments. Be careful during online transactions to un-check unwanted offers.

They got me too.  They said I signed up the membership thru "Expedia.com".  I argued and they agreed to refund my $12 and cancel the membership. Below is the e-mai I received from them after making the phone call:

This notice confirms that your Membership in Reservation Rewards has been canceled as of xx/xx/09.

Your cancel confirmation number is: xxxxxx.

We have issued a refund of your Membership fee. This refund will appear as a credit to your account within the next 3-5 business days.

Please let us know if your request was resolved to your satisfaction. All responses submitted will go to our Customer Service Director for review because your feedback is important to us.

Same thing happened to me... I purchased my tickets off Fandango bc they promised $10 back and I just realized 3 months later they were taking $12 a month. I purchased the tickets in July and they just started charging me in August. They said the first 30 days was free that's why I didn't start getting charged right away. They have refunded me no problem though and cancelled the membership.

I just saw this charge on my credit card.  I called and found out that trying to get a $25 hotel coupon off of Expedia I had been added to their little list.  I called and asked for all my money back.  Being an idiot, I had $168 worth of charges that I hadn't noticed!

Same thing happened to me with Orbitz, 2 charges passed thru before I noticed.  Total scam.  AMEX took away the charges and I canceled the service by calling the scammerers 800 #.

I booked and payed for a flight on www.orbitz.com. After I payed, there was an option to get $25 off my next flight so I clicked it to see what the deal was. Instead of learning about a deal, I was redirected to a shady website and immediately learned it was a scam. Unfortunately the damage had been done. Orbitz had provided this company with my credit card information. I simply cannot believe how easy it was for this company to access all these different bank accounts... really makes me apprehensive about buying ANYTHING online anymore.

It is worth getting upset about when someone has access to your BANK ACCOUNT when you are completely unaware of it.

they got me through shutterfly, too! which is interesting, because i haven't used shutterfly in years- but it began charging me a few months ago. So irritated. The man I spoke to when I called the number was calm and said that he supposedly issued a 6 month refund. We'll see if that ever showed up. He said that he was not allowed to tell me the websites his company is associated with-- just that they "have coupons everywhere" and "have hundreds of rewards members".

    Why is this not illegal?!

Wow...This is scary stuff, I just found a $12.00 charge on my visa card. I had no idea what it was. I called the number listed and a very snotty woman told me that it was some thing I had signed up for on Fandango.com. I had all the charges reversed and had it cancelled. I'm almost considering changing my credit card number now. Theis kind of deceptive business practices need to be outlawed!!

I did the same mistake like many.
Just call their number & they'll remove their FTD membership.
I did this cause I thought I was getting a $20 discount on next purchase.
I was wrong & won't do that anymore.

Apparently I signed up for their membership services after purchasing tickets from Fandango... not to my knowledge!  They cancelled the membership, but won't refund the charge of $12... luckily I caught it right way and I'm only out that $12!
