They find your phone number on this site. Not your name, only your number with your area code

Says we have to call about a bad debt.  We don't have bad debt.  They call about 10 times a month.  Has to be a scam.

if this debt is 10 years old do not talk to these people it is considered and invalid debt unless you validate it by responding dont do it!!

I have received several automated messages from some company called (garbled) recovery about a debt. They never ask for a specific person(my answering machine also has an automated message that does not say who I am, just that I am away).  I suspect that it is a scam.  If it is legitimate, then they should have my address as well as my phone number, and they can send me a statement in the mail.

I have received numerous calls from this no. they will not listen only threaten, they are a collection agency... sometimes they call & let it ring twice & hang up, very annoying, the bill in question is from my past husband who passed away in 1992, it is out of the statue of limitation but they won't hear that.

Sept.6,2008.In google searching and reporting these #'s,they all seem connected.My answering machine is not presently on.I don't recognize the # on my caller ID,so I don't answer.I'm also not delinquent nor any outstanding debts.

These people are zombie debt collectors.  According to MSN Money zombie debt collectors "buy charged-off credit card accounts from the original lenders for pennies on the dollar or less. Then, they use credit-scoring and other new technologies to identify which debtors are most likely to pay."

Called personal cell phone asking for someone else.  Seemed confused when I told her she had the wrong number.

Received a call from PRA and said I have debts from Providian. Never have debt from Provodian and PRA has been calling me for the last several days. One time I answer the call and told them I don't have account with Providian, but they insisted that I have a lot of debts. I have no intention to deal with them because they don't even know my address or my iwn personal phone which they could get it from credit reporting agency.

they call several times a day.  this is from my ex wife who has a debt.  can this be stopped because I have told them I did not encur this debt

I get these calls 3 and 4 times a day. The debt is my ex husbands whom I do not know where he is. Is there ANY WAY  to block the number or something to have them quit calling me? I am on the Do Not Call List. HELP!!!!

I got a call from this number (800-772-1413) at 8:15am this morning.  I was not home and my husband told them to call back.  The man was looking for my brother who lives in another state.  I was shocked that someone would call me(with different last name)to find out info on my brother.  googled the number and it is this Portfolio Recovery people.  Frankly, they have no business contacting me about someone else's matters.

Man at this number called and asked for Rebecca.  I told him he had the wrong number and he kept talking.  I hung up with him saying, "sir, sir, sir..."  If they weren't such jerks I would feel sorry for anybody who has to work at whatever 1-800-772-1413 is.

Call before 8 a.m.  Consistently call even though we have referred them to another number where the person they are calling can be reached.  The person we referred them to is not the owner of the debt, merely someone who lived with the owner of the debt and not related.  We are on the Do Not Call Registry.  The Statute of Limitations has expired regarding the debt they are trying to collect.  This company has various numbers from which they have harrassed us, even claiming to be a lawyer and threatening  to sue and also that someone will be at the door in a matter of hours.   This company tries to collect debts on which the statute of limitations has expired, and are in violation of the Fair Debt Collections Act.

They called me to ask about one of my neighbors, what a bunch of [***] if they are pestering neighbors. I don't even know this neighbor very well.

How many numbers do these people have. Out of curosity I have been logging the calls that came from this company (by the way I have no debt either old or new, not even a mortgage or car payment) I don't answer unknown #s.  I was just curious since the first call came in at 9:23pm which is illeagle so I wrote these all down. So far the #s I've had call from them are 800-772-1413, 866-940-7640, 757-321-6278, and a call back 3 of 866-909-0529.  I'm sure there's more.

Calling for a person who has same last name only..told them that no such person has this phone number. Calls several times per week.

I have rec'd serveral calls over the last couple of weeks and they are now calling my parents and threating to get me with grand theft auto because i am a couple months behind on my car cause i lost my job. they are saying that i am hiding the vehicle. damn right i am. they don't have the right to do that when i have a clean clear title with no lien from the bank that i have the loan with... do they?

Just got a call from these people out of the blue. They left a message saying they were collecting on a debt. I don't have any debts and if I did I wouldn't have qualified for my Home Mortgage Loan. I'm going to look into filing a complaint against them for Harassment. I know some great lawyers who would love to make them uncomfortable.
