Over the years these people have called us near 20 times - they are man or woman, sounding middle-eastern, or India or Nigerian  - they think we will give them what they want - they intentionally try to sound difficult to get your attention, then easier when the time is right.

1st complaint - We are on the do not call list - they should not call
2nd its illegal to spoof a phone number.

Its illegal to spoof a phone number - Truth in Caller ID Act of 2009 - http://www.fcc.gov/guides/caller-id-and-spoofing
The Truth in Caller ID Act of 2009 - which was signed into law Dec. 22, 2010, prohibits caller ID spoofing for the purposes of defrauding or otherwise causing harm.

    FCC Rules

This 800 number called a few minutes ago.  One ring and then nothing.  But not 15 seconds earlier, it rang more times and ID said Unknown.    Oddly enough, 24 hrs ago, another unknown call.  I thought I'd have a little fun.  Accented male, I think he said his name was Jordan, from Microsoft, something about my computer and Windows.  I told him I didn't understand and asked him to repeat.  Said something about fixing Windows.  I said, "My windows are fine.  Very clean.  I wash them myself."  "No, your computer Windows!"  Then I pretended I couldn't hear him, kept yelling, "Hello???  Are you there?  Hello?"  He ended with, "Ok, I am hanging up now."

These people took advantage of my 83 YO Mother 3 times. Each time scamming her for $50, $50 then $500. They installed bogus copies of legitimate software and froze her computer which had to be wiped and the OS reloaded at additional cost. I called the FBI and they advised me to do several things: unlisted phone, change all credit and debit cards, check County records to make sure no liens against her home, check all 3 free credit reports, check all bank and credit account transactions and monitor going forward. If this happens to an elderly person you know, make sure you impress upon them to NEVER engage these people. Do Not answer the phone if you don't recognize the number.

On 9/13/14 I received a call from 800-800-8100 shortly after 9 a.m., and promptly looked it up on this site. They did not leave a voice message, but based on the other postings here, I blocked the call.

My elderly mother was scammed by one of these calls and it cost her nearly $300 to have some lowlife remote into her computer and install some malware. Her computer became useless after that because it was so infected. She now has a new Chromebook so hopefully that is the last of it. Please be very cautious with any of these calls. Best to let them go to voice mail. If it's important, they will leave a message.

finally home to answer the call from 800-800-8100.  Man with heavy middle eastern accent said he was from company named IFIXO in NJ.  Wanted me to turn on PC, some problem with my windows program opening my email, and he'd walk me thru the process.  I called him on it saying I knew he wanted to get into my personal info and I was reporting his number to the FCC and hung up on him.

Received a call from 800-800-8100 today.  He had a mid east voice and said he was from Microsoft and there was a problem with my computer that would shut it down in a few days.  He said he would help me fix it and wanted to know if I had my computer on.  I told him no and ask him
to sent me the information through the mail.  He hung up.  I felt like it was a scam because he really didn't seem professional.

The company issuing these calls is IFIXO.  Do not fall for the BS these scam artists try to put you through.  They offer to fix your computer remotely and then they charge you $179.99 for their service and include support for a whole year beyond that.

In short, these idiots are not worth it.  If they call you, do not answer the call.  Leave well enough alone with these scam artists.

Received an unwanted call from this number. Man had a heavy Indian accent and kept pressuring to get information about our computer. Asked him not to call this number again, he wanted to know WHY! We said it's a nuisance call, and he insisted it wasn't and that he was calling because WE initiated something where we needed help with our computer. We didn't.  He said he was calling to HELP and were we in front of a computer right then... yeah right! SCAM!!

You're supposed to say "hold on please" and then do a quick chore. Then come back in a bit and say "please hold one more minute" and then go make breakfast. Keeping them on hold wastes their time (and they are paid by the call).

I want to report the number 800-800-100 for harassment and unwanted soliciting.  I have about had it with these soliciting calls about a PC or Microsoft computer that I don't even have. Every time it is a man or a woman with a heavy East Indian accent claiming a name of Bob, Kevin, Michelle or another American name, stating they are calling in reference to my computer. They call at all hours between 8 am to as late as 10:30 pm. I have asked for my number to be taken off their call list, I have asked them not to call again, I have even threatened to file a complaint and press charges but they still call. They also use multiple numbers from land lines, cell numbers and "800" numbers all over the U. S. Someone needs to seriously do something about this.

Have received calls from 800-800-8100 but I have never answered any of them. No message is ever left on my voicemail, either, when these calls are received and unanswerred.

Just called us in Delaware---we referred to google and found this site.
The same entity has called us many times---the number always changes. It is inevitably a Microsoft scammer when we research the story and we are never the only potential victim
