I never answer calls when I don't know who is calling.  This # called this morning (Saturday) early which I did not appreciate.  Coincidentally enough I got my computer back yesterday after a complete clean-up.  I know about this scam and they use all sorts of numbers.  Why can't this be closed down and these low-lifes jailed!!

My wife got the call this morning about 09:00. She lightly argued with them for about five minutes then gave me the phone. They identified themselves as "Global" something ( never heard of them, XYZ company?) and said my drivers were bad. I'm pretty good with computers so I let her walk me through looking at a few things, drivers and the task manager files and looking at my system configuration. Some should be! But said the stopped ones were not good. One was the windows installer and I wasn't even installing anything. She had no access or could see these. I finally told her this was a scan and I was ending the call. I too heard the background call center sounds and knew Microsoft was on line in the back ground and would not spend time talking to me and hung up. She tried three more times calling me within the next three minutes. I was not about to let her into anything on the computer or have me access anything on line. Surely a scam of some kind or wanted access through teleconferencing to get files or information from the computer!

Got a call this morning. These guy trying to gain remote access to my computer. I've dealt with Microsoft many times. This is not how Microsoft works. You call Microsoft, they don't call you. Unless it's a call back. Don't fall for this scam people.

Received a call from this number saying they were from Microsoft and there was malicious spyware.  It was a woman with a very bad accent and couldn't figure out how to pronounce my last name which is an easy one to say.  They wanted to know if they were able to access my computer so it could be checked.  I told them that I'd have my virus people check it and hung up on them.

    waste the scammer's time instead!
Same scam. I went along for the game and wasted 15 minutes of their time with my "pretend" computer taking a long time to bootup and logging-in into the internet. You might get a dropped call a few hours earlier to see if the line is checked or skipped (using another caller id).
