- SEAN replies to Sarah| 1 replyI get over 50 calls a month from all sorts of scammers and or telemarketers. About 6 months ago I bought a 'Privacy Call Center' from 'http://www.digitone.com/' and it's incredible. You can list all your friends and loved ones numbers and even a specific area code and prefix's to allow, and they will ring and pass thru unobstructed. All others will be asked to enter an extension number of the party they want to speak to, and then will be disconnected. It catches every single unwanted call. I've had months of peace and quiet. Our number ends in a 0001 and it's obviously a big hit with these bottom feeders. I don't work for digitone and this is strictly an unsolicited testimonial. Good luck!
- Cedars of LebanonReceived a call at 7:00 PM stateing that this call was about debt collection, They used my name and left the phone number 800-804 0057 to call. I called them back and was told all agents were busy, then was told that I was next in line. I then waited 7 or so minutes and listened to music but no one ever picked up. I don't owe anyone so I have no idea what the call is about.

- annoyedJust received a call from 8008040057 at 4:30PM EST. It was a recorded message stating that if this was not (my name) then please hang up. "This is an attempt to contact (my name) regarding a debt collection. There will now be a 3 second pause. Please contact us at 8008040057." I hung up and called the number back to receive another message stating that all agents were currently busy and I needed to try back. Hung up and retried to get the same message. Hung up again and now have been on hold for the next available agent for about 9mins and 36 secs. This is my first call, but I'm getting rather annoyed because I don't owe anyone money and was contacted on my cellphone. Once I hang up with this company, I'm calling the Do Not Call number listed on the previous page.

- annoyedAlright, so I finally spoke to someone in their office after being on hold for about 15 minutes. She said her name was Rita and she was unbelievably rude. Telling me that I was "rude," "a real charmer," and said "wow, you owe that much to people huh?" in response to me telling her that I receive phony debt collection calls on my cellphone all the time. She also knew me by name when she answered the phone, before I said anything as well as my doctor's name. She explained that I have some $150+ debt owed to Quest Diagnostics. She had no response for me telling her that I never received a bill besides contact your insurance company. I asked her to mail me a copy, so I'll be waiting. Too bad I just called the office that does the testing for that particular doctor who informed me that I have no outstanding bill. I also asked if they were in anyway affiliated with Quest Diagnostics, she said no. Interesting. Let me just say, as an accountant, be very wary of these types of calls and make sure you do research before making a payment. No one wants to pay twice for a bill or be scammed into paying something they didn't owe. FYI- I looked up Quest Diagnostics, they're the nation's leading provider for health care testing; I doubt they would hire some company that is impossible to get a hold of to make payments.

- ahhhApparently they are real. I'm still confused. I spoke to my doctor who said they don't use Quest. Spoke to the lab who did the testing for that doctor who isn't affiliated with Quest. Contacted Quest and they do have an invoice for me which I never received because I moved. The reason they had a bill was because I changed insurance numbers and they had the old number. Man I hate our health care industry. Good luck everyone. Hopefully, your experience turns out to be a much less complicated ordeal and you don't have to speak to Rita with AMCA. :)

- ahhh| 1 replyIf anyone wants to call Quest's billing directly, as opposed to having to call all over and research online. The number is 800-804-0057. Good luck!
- ahhh replies to ahhhOops, read the number at the top of my page instead of the bottom. Sorry about that. The number for Quest Dianostics' billing is 800-837-3177.
- joe martinezI just got a message from this number and they told me to call back cuz it was an attempt to collect a debt. I called it back and it said they were closed. the hours of operation are 8am to 8pm monday thru thurs day and 8am till 5pm on friday. I called at 530 pm. I pay my bills on time. I entered this number in the search box and found alot of you have the same thing going on. What if its the government? bigg brother watching or something. Sorry about my typing.they said they were RMCE a proffessional collection agency but when i googled it it was some thing about science andphiC31-mediated RMCE. In June, 2006, we published a method for Drosophila transgenesis that targets constructs to predetermined genomic sites using the phiC31 integrase system iIn the field of reverse genetics RMCE (recombinase-mediated cassette exchange) is of increasing relevance. The procedure permits the systematic, repeated modification of higher eukaryotic genomes by targeted integration. For RMCE, this is achieved by the clean exchange of a preexisting "gene cassette" for an analogous cassette carrying the "gene of interest" (GOI).

- Laura| 1 replyThe very FIRST day I got my cell phone I got a call from this company. I never answer it. I always let it go to voice mail. Its a recording and it sounds like they're asking for a particular person by name, but I can't understand it because its garbled.
I have NOT given this phone number out to anyone. I use it for the Internet/email only.
I usually get called once a week. I think I will file a complaint against them. - WAZZUP replies to LauraThe call is REAL unless they have your wrong information I called them they told me I had lab work which I did i forgot to pay it. - n/aHave been receiving calls from these people since we got our current phone number 4 years ago, always asking for Christina Asher. No matter how many times we tell them there's no one here by that name they won't stop calling. If I could afford to sue them or Ms. Asher for harrassment I would.

- TerriI got a call from them at least twenty times. They asked for someone I have never heard of. It is just annoying when they call in the middle of dinner. I called the number back today and they said they would remove my number. We will see.

- BettyContinually recieve voice mail from this number - a debt collection agency - requesting a Sharon Hester (or something similar) on my cell phone. I am NOT this person nor do I owe any outstanding debts. I have a prepaid cell phone so every time I call my voice mail it costs me money. These calls are very annoying. I tried to call to ask them to stop calling as I am not the person they want but it is impossible to get anyone to answer ("all agents are busy....."). What can I do to stop these calls.

- RonI have received several call from AMCA (American Medical Collections Association, 800-666-8097). The calls are always for someone who does not live here.
I the past I just terminated the call.
Today I called the number on the voice mail 800-804-0057. I asked that my phone number be removed from their collection list ( I owe no medical payments). They first asked if the person who owed the money lived at the home with my phone number. When I advised she did not, they assured me my number would be removed from their list.
Time will tell.- Caller: AMCA
