This numeber keeps showing up on the church phone!  This is terrible.  Someone needs to track this number and HAVE IT DISCONNECTED and see who is behind it.  This could be "another way" someone is reversing charges to "live numbers" for their benefit.  No telling how many charges are disbursed, over time, and they are getting away with it!

They called two times yesterday (Sunday!) and left messages on my answering machine, saying that this is a collection agency and I need to call back because it is urgent.

I don't owe any money to anyone.

When I called back, I demanded to know who they were and the rude female voice would only say "AMCA."  She would not give me the full name of their agency or her name as required by law.

I believe this is a scam.

They claim to be a collection agency but do not say who they are calling for or in what rgds in their voice mails. When I call back they are always closed with no capability for leaving a message

I probably do have an outstanding debt...but I don't care! They can't do anything anyway. I left the "American Nightmare" credit game years ago. I'm poor on paper...don't own a thing and have a pension they can't touch as a matter of law...my insurance paid them...the rest is nothing but a hidden tax. I keep my credit bad purposely to keep it safe from identity theft. Couldn't get a loan in my name if the crook wanted to!!!(lol)
I work out of the country through different corporations...can't tie any income to me...ha ha!! hbc1970.info

Started with "this is a message for (silence) if you're not (silence)" Not a very pro group to begin with. Doesn't matter. My insurance pays this stuff...whatever is left over is just hidden tax as far as I'm concerned. Everyone is entitled to medical care. For the "richest" country in the world, we sure neglect our people. Can't touch me anyway. All of my stuff is in other countries. I own nothing on paper! Scr*w em! hbc1970.info

My parents received a message from 800-804-0057. They are on the DO NOT CALL list and received the call anyway. I guess it doesn't work.

I get these calls at different hours and days...been going on for a few months now.  Sometimes several times a day or not hearing from them for weeks at a time.  I know that I have something outstanding but it falls off in March 2009.  that's the only thing I can think of that it could be.  They waste my cell minutes more than anything.

It's a damn collection angency sneaky without saying who they are when they answer, through caller ID and voicemail. It's "not a sales call" is only because it isn't! It's trying to get you on the phone with someone who can collect the debt you owe unbenounced to you in the meantime. If they told you all this on the caller ID and or voicemail we and they both know you wouldn't pick up the phone.

I think they hold various postions.  Telemarketers, bill collectors..etc.  I just got a call as well stating they were AMCA a professional debt collection agency.  I have an out standing lab bill and I think that's what it's from.  The caller ID says it's a 800 service.

I am getting the same calls... This is RMCBAMCA professional collection agency. Any information obtained will be used for the purpose... DOES THAT MAKE SENSE? They should have the information if they are collection agency and they are by law can call your cell... suggest to do a class action against them. Also calling 800 number from your regular phone even blocked number will show on their screen. USE pay phone or skype phone... to protect your number. I just spoke to a lady and a man... they wanted my number that they called and I refused. I am reporting them to FCC. Before any debt can go to collection agency, you are suppose to receive a letter informing you... Just remember to use caution. Report them to FCC. Last call I had few weeks ago turned out to be debt consolidation going after anyone with $10,000+ line of credit from credit card companies... scary...You can file your complaint using our on-line complaint Form 1088 found at www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints.html; e-mailing fccinfo@fcc.gov; calling 1-888-CALL-FCC(1-888-225-5322) voice or 1-888-TELL-FCC(1-888-835-5322) TTY; faxing 1-866-418-0232; or writing to: Federal Communications Commission, Consumer & Governmental Affairs Bureau,Consumer Inquiries and Complaints Division, 445 12th Street, SW Washington, DC 20554.

Collection agency is the only one who can call blocked or cell number... putting in do not call list will not work. RMCBAMCA is what they claimed at 800-804-0057 and a lady answered after music and they wanted my information then a man answers asking samething. Since I do not have any collection notice and debt free other than mortgage... I feel they are abusing the system. They should not leave pre-recorded phone message first call... what for? if they are trying to reach you...

I called back the number to ask why they called my house.  I gave them my phone number and they told me that they were trying to reach someone who I had never heard of.  They said that they would remove my number from their list.  We'll see.

    Oooohhhhh!!!*steaming*

I had a gotten a phone call on voice mail from them, but I chose to ignore it.  My husband came home later, listened to it, and got frantic about getting these "collectors" off our back and to take care of it.  Funny thing is, we didn't owe anything, we NEVER pay our bills late, and that's why I ignored it.  But at the insistence of my husband, I called them up and paid with my debit card over the phone. I gave them my address, name as appears on card, card number, and security code... GAH!!!  I then called my Dr's office, and they said they had never sent anything to a collection agency, and I didn't owe them anything... and that's not even the collection agency they use...

Needless to say, I called my bank immediately.  Ironically, there was no charge on my account.  But I had my card canceled anyway.  It seems this company was 'phishing' for more information from me.  Curiously, there are only three parties that know of the information that they had:  My doctor, me, and my health insurance company...

    Draw your own conclusions.

Don't be fooled if the amount this "Agency" quotes is the exactly the same as an amount owed or charged for on a bill... this is probably information obtained illegally.  And it is especially illegal if they pose as the agent of a company you have any sort of affiliations with.

Be careful people... in this economy the unscrupulous are getting desperate and bold.

Voice mail stating they are debt collection agency and any information they obtain will be used for this. They ask for some women that I have never heard of and demand it is urgent that call be returned.  Also got music and put on "terminal" hold with no response.

I work for a company where people ask for advice often about many different matters including this.  I had a call from a gentleman who was asking me about this number and that's how I stumbled on to this site.  I am so glad that you are all talking about it because it raised awareness.

Be VERY careful of this kind of a situation.  You do not need to give them any information when you call, if there is truly a debt and they are legitemately collecting on it, they will know your information.  Before calling them, get a copy of your credit report.  That can be obtained free at each of the three credit reporting agnecies:

    Experian Credit Bureau
        (888) 397-3742
        www.experian.com

    Equifax Credit Bureau
        (800) 685-1111
        www.equifax.com

    TransUnion Credit Bureau
        1-800-916-8800
        www.transunion.com

If you discover a debt that is owed, call the company that has reported it directly to settle on the debt.  ALWAYS get a letter stating that the amount has been settled for and is closed and NEVER NEVER NEVER give them access to your checking account.  Tell them that as soon as you recieve the letter stating that they will settle for X amount of $$, you will put a money order in the mail for that amount.

If you discover that the debt is not yours and they are continuing to harrass you, you need to report them to the Federal Trade Commission.  These people are breaking federal law (and you can tell them that) by harrassing you for a debt that is not yours.  Check out 1977 Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act that was passed by Congress.  You can find this at the Federal Trade Commissions website: http://www.ftc.gov/.  Judging by this website, there should be enough complaints to get their attention.  I noticed earlier advice to sent them a letter demanding that they Cease and Decist RETURN RECIEPT REQUESTED so that you have written proof that they recieved that letter from you.  That is sound advice!
These people are the scum of the earth and need to be stopped.  There is no telling how many little old ladies they are scaring into giving them payments because they are scared and don't want any trouble.  Let's shut 'em down.

Of course, if you do owe someone money you should always pay.  Step up and take responsibility for your debts, however, no one should be abusing people even if they are in debt to them and our government has steps in place that are to protect the consumer from such abuse.  Be aware of your rights and it will be harder for someone to trample them.

My wife and I have been receiving calls from this number.  I think the name of the company is AMCA or NCMA it's hard to tell from the computer generated message.  The debt they are calling about is from a doctors office almost 3 years ago when my son was born.  This problem was a billing mistake on the part of the doctors office and has been fixed yet the calls persist.  When you try to explain anything to them over the phone, you are hung up on.  I have told them to stop calling but they continue calling with the same message.
