- harryEvery time I answer I hear background noise like a large office. They don't get on the phone right away. When I hear that "background" noise I hang up right away because I know it is some "degenerate" call center.
- Caller: Apellis
- wowI received a call from them today. It showed up on the caller id as The Palace!!
- cdI keep receiving calls form 1-800-825-4425 on my work phone. Come on this is a business phone, I do not have time for playing games, I need to work. Every time I answer it is a robo call, it tells you to wait for the next available operator, so I do, then the call disconnects. I can't even find out who they want or tell them to stop. So I just want to say enough already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Caller: No clue
- Matthew SmithVery rude "customer service rep" would not identify the purpose of the call.....seemed very elusive and instantly became nervous sounding when asked any questions as to who they were.....smells like a scam to me
- Caller: the palace
- Mike ReedWell, about a week ago I began getting calls from this number. Since I am at work I don't answer, and since they leave no message, I don't call back. Today I went to their website and emailed them, asking them to either leave me a detailed message, or to cease calling me. We'll see if it works.
- Caller: Apelles
- WTF? replies to JohThey HAVE to ID themselves!!! That's illegal right there by every last bit of the like 5 laws and rules that cover telemarketing and collections. If they refuse to provide their Company Name and at least their first name or ID # then you can dump the call and say whatever you'd like to them.
- Sendm PackingBS Collection Agency that HAS to identify themselves. Refusal violates laws.
Immediately hang up on them and send them a Cease & Desist letter (see
below) and if they keep it up - get a lawyer and sue them for $1,500 a call.

- SusanSomeone from this number called my (elderly) mom and told her they were ADT (which she does not have) and told her she owed money. Since she doesn't use ADT, this is impossible. I believe if she were totally on her own, they might would have convinced her to give them her credit card info. It upsets me that so many take advantage of the elderly.
- JoeThis sounds a lot like calls I was getting from a company in Oregon who was a collection agency looking for one of their deadbeats. I reported them to the Attorney General but it appears that the calls are starting again under another number.
- Call type: Debt collector
- EllenWIf a debt is charged off.. why are they trying to collect it? Why doesn’t the lender try to collect it? Has 5/3 sold it to Apelles?
I don’t understand.. they want a monthly payment.. but reporting it is charged off... Something strange..
If I don’t make the monthly payment.. will Apelles sue me or 5/3 ? Or anyone?- Caller: Apelles

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
