called it back and got a recording saying you have reached family reader services please hold for the next representative. not having time i didn't hold

These people called this morning and said I was entered in some sweepstakes with a grand prize of $25,000 or a Ford Escape, or a trip to Hawaii.  They wanted to know if I had a Visa/M.C./Discover, even through my checking account.  When I said no, they said thanks for entering the sweepstakes and good luck.  Ours is a brand new phone number and we are on the do-not-call list.  I called back and got their recording.  They claim to be Family Reader Service and said their offices were closed and to call back during regular business hours.  It is during that time now!  SCAM!!!!!

Received call from this number on cellular phone with AT&T.  No voicemail, and put on hold when returning the call.

These jerks call me 3 times a day.  New phone line with Comcast Digital.  I don't even know my own phone number!

Yeah,,,I just got Comcast 1 week ago. Call's started yeterday. I will do some research and find out whats going on. Thats what I do,,,find things out.

I got this call starting within three days of changing our phone service to Comcast (with a new phone number).  When we were on Quest, we did not get a single telemarketing-type call.  I suspect Comcast immediately sold our phone number.  At any rate, this was one of those "you have won" but it's only for people with certain credit cards (I suspect if I had continued to talk to her, she would have wanted to "verify" my credit cards).  I asked to be taken off the calling list and informed her it was a scam.  They keep calling...

had a ton of previous different numbers (comcast service)where no one speaks just sits there. then i was added to the do not call list and they kept calling for about 4 months. i told them(as they sat there quietly)that i reported them. they stopped. had to change my number for other reasons...and now EVERY company calls. even this number. i think it is COMCAST who does this...you can PURCHASE something to block the calls. so um, yeah i think it's them. especially ironic how my computer started messing up the day they started to charge for service visits to your home when something goes wrong on their end.

I have recieved the same call 12 times in the last week. Thank god i come from a family of P.I's....Here's what I've got.. First, "DangerousRhythm" was correct. It is a T/M that randomly dials numders. I.E.
I have a 610 area code with a start 750 number. There are computers set to randomly call the numbers on THIER list. Example; A computer will ramdonly call all numbers with 750 start numbers and call everyone from 750-0001 to 750-9999. Each computer has their own set of numbers to continuisly call. Responce or no, the computers will continue. How it started? According to Comcast, when you change from one phone Co. to theirs, you are immiditly "sold" to tele-Marketers. They informed me that they have that right. I must re-enter the "Do-Not-Call" list and that will take 6 months to elliminate me from the callers list. I hope this helped alittle. jkr9395@msn.com

i just signed up for charter as well and since i have i keep getting calls like this one and others similar, so i called charter to have my number unpublished now they call even more wtf  this is getting to be annoying

I've received five calls from this number since signing up with Comcast last week. But there are five different companies also calling. I'm doing research to find out information on each and sending DNC complaints to my State Attorney General.

I just moved in and started to recieve calls from this number too.

We just got our new number through EMBARQ on Saturday the 22nd of March. This number started calling Monday morning around 9:30am PST. They have since called every morning and never leave a message. I tried calling the number back and got a buzy signal. Maybe tomorrow I will answer it.

WOW, that is crazy. I have EMBARQ and I had a feeling they sold our number to a bunch of low-life telemarketers. Thanks for the info!!!

I also got a call from this same number on my new business line. I didn't answer but I will do what you see in the above video if they call again. The results can be very funny.

I just had my phone number hooked up and three days later this number started showing up on my caller id.  I finally answered it and they started the converstation by saying my first and last name.  I answered yes this is he.  They identified themselves by saying they worked for the California Highway Patrol and they are looking for donations for the families of three officers who were killed in the line of duty.  They said would you pledge 45.00.  I said not at this time.  The caller said any little bit would help and a donation of only 15.00 would be appreciated.  I said not at this time and they hung up on me.  They tried calling 2 days later.  When I called the number back it says after one ring that the number was disconnected.

Got a new number 2 weeks ago and also started to receive several calls from 800-845-2074.  Very frustrating and annoying.  Nothing but TELEMARKETERS!
