- FarinaCalled about a debt owed by Dennis Schultz. Anyone know where he is?
- Call type: Debt collector
- Donna SmithSomeone keeps calling and saying disregard call. Then they hang up. This happens at last 4 x a day.
- KarenTwo or three times a day? Since 9am? I wish. They start calling me at 8:01am. I sleep till 10-11am so I miss at least 2 of there calls. Then they call 3 or 4 times since noon. One time I did ask what it was about which was stupid, I know, but they said it was for a credit card that was open in 2007 or something. I haven't worked since 2006, now on disability. Who in their right mind would give me a credit card with no job? LMFAO!!! Anyway, now I am getting letters in the mail too. Next time they call, I told my boyfriend to tell them I died. Them they will probably go after my boyfriend.
So if the BBB has received many, many complaints, why haven't they done anything.
Oh, and I too put their # on my block list, but they just come up with new #'s every time I do. Freeking irritating. - Sharon BassI HAVE RECIEVED NUMEROUS CALLS FROM THIS DRS. TECHNOLOGY !!! - teealways receive a call in the evening after 6pm - the call back box if always full - never leave the company name or who they are calling - also the number and company is blocked - if they are a collection company they have violated the fair credit act by hiding their name and number
- Mad As HellThese Morons call me 2-3 times a day starting before 8 am. Occasionally I get a voicemail from some snotty sounding woman who states that I should call this number. I have told them several times over the last 2 freaking years to cease & desist; that I owe no bill and will report the harrassment. Of course, we have little we can do about the harassment. The cops, the BBB & FCC could care less. If anyone comes up with an effective way of getting them off my back, I'm open to suggestions.

- Carolyn SMy elderly parent, whose phone is in my name, has received several calls from 800-851-9631. The last call was on 9/3/13, was an automated recording, man's voice. She didn't give out any information and hung up. Her number is unlisted, cannot be given out by directory assistance, and is on the no call list--obviously none of these safeguards were effective in preventing her receiving these annoying calls. Can anything be done about this?

- CitizenThe Statutes of Limitation may be different from state to state, but in my home state, if they aren't able to connect with a live person, they are required by State Law to cease calling after six months. Or, if you are liable for the bill, it is better to be responsible for it. They (may) be able to screw up your FICO score.

- Lynn M. replies to KibThis is one more reason I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize. If you owe a legitimate debt, call the original debtor and pay them directly, if they refuse, then it means they don't want your money bad enough. I paid a debt collection agency and had my debt never get sent to the original company b/c they already "charged it off." This means, they got a tax break for reporting the $1500 I owed them.
I made the mistake of paying a company $1000 thinking the money was going to go back to the original company. Not only did the debt collector sucker $1000 out of me, but they KEPT no records and when I asked for a statement showing what I had paid, they never sent me one. I refused to pray the remaining $500 until they did. Turned out, 5 years later, I was taken to court by the last company to try to collect it using legal proceedings. I asked for a continuence in order to defend myself. I then gathered up ALL my copies of my checks, went to court again this time, armed with PROOF of my hardship and the $1000 payments. They had ..NOTHING!! I mean nothing to show;... the judge threw the debt out! I haven't heard from anyone about it since!
But, it took 7 years to take the debt off my record!! (go to annualcreditreport.com) and get a free copy of all your credit reports each year. (have loads of paper in your printer!) and then , look at them...We disputed a credit card bill on my daughter's record (she's only 20 years old) and it had been there before she was born! My husband had a 30/60 days late on his..because of a problem with GMAC not settling when our new car totalled in a freak accident. We disputed both of these in a form they give you online and within 2 weeks, bot things had been fixed and taken off our records! It pays to get your free report once each year. Usually the report agency just takes your word for it that it isn't your debt and takes it off!! - Traci| 3 repliesI got a new phone number about 6 months ago. Starting with the next day after getting this number they started calling asking for who must of been the previous owner of the number.
It is ABSOLUTELY impossible to get them to quit calling me daily. No matter who I ask to speak to, no matter what I do they continue to call me daily asking for someone else. They refuse to accept I am not the person they are looking for.
The calls are a mixture of a live person calling and a machine asking me to stay on the line.
These Portfolio people seem to have more complaints online than any other recovery service. How have they not been shut down ???- Caller: Portfolio

- Alfalfa replies to TraciTell them the next time they call you are going to lawyer up and sue them for violations of the FDCPA and TCPA for harassing a non-debtor if the calls do not stop.
