- GabeI received 5 successive robo calls on my cell phone from (866) 869-3557 ( the new version of 800-869-3557). The recording says my account number has been changed to blah, blah, blah, and to punch 1 if I had not authorized the change, and 2 if I had. The message made no sense to me, so I hit "reply" and got Wells Fargo. I explained what happened. The rep said they did not send any alert on my WF credit card account and that WF had not called me. Then that number called again. I hit the "decline" to answer button, and then blocked the number from calling me again.

- MYLYFake "Wells Fargo" call. It came through as Wells Fargo and this number is listed on the web. They said someone had shut down my text alerts and that I was scheduled to send a Zelle payment of $3500. They were going to send me a text link to click on, but I told them I didn't believe the call was real. They told me to go visit a branch. I called Wells Fargo Fraud Department instead and they showed no fraud activity on my account and nothing related to a pending Zelle deduction. Scary they can spoof legit numbers and names on your mobile phone!

- AnnoyedReceived a call from another fraudster number claiming to be Wells Fargo yesterday. When we said we would call the number on the back they hung up. Called today with the CID showing the number from the back of their cards (this one). I told them that we didn't fall for their scam before and they should take us off their scam list.

- Nimrod replies to Jerome huling
Well, based on who you replied to and when they posted, I would say your account is overdrawn but you still think there is money there.Jerome huling wrote:How much money in my bank account - M.A.Called me to inform me that my Wells Fargo card was declined at an IGA in Miami for over 300 dollars... thing is, I haven't had a Wells Fargo account in 13 years, and the callback number it left (1-844-506-4127) isn't matching anything official. Scam.

- Jim| 1 replyGot a call from this number at 6am on a Sunday morning stating that a charge for 224.83 to Game Stop was denied. I don't have a Wells Fargo Credit Card and the number they left for me to call goes to some law office. Phishing from the word go.

- mr las vegas replies to WF FRAUD EMPLOYEEGot a call at 5am this morning from this number, I did not answer, suspecting a 'scam'. Voice mail noted an attempt/declined, on a Game Stop, $224.35, and provided a number for me to call back, 855 203-4391. Googled this number, of course, a 'scam' or phish attempt. I have not had a Wells Fargo account for many years. Scammers really are a rather stupid bunch.
- mr las vegas replies to JimI got the same call/message/money amount, obvious scam phish as you note, I blocked the number. I also have not had WF for many years.
- SamRecorded message pretending to be with Wells Fargo and stated they declined a suspicious attempted charge on my account. Funny, I don't have a Wells Fargo account. [***] these scammers.

- DavidI got a phone call from this number at 9:19 PM Eastern Time, but I didn't answer the phone. It left me a message on the YouMail app on my phone claiming to be Wells Fargo Fraud Prevention Team. They claimed there was an attempted charge of $224.35 at BestBuy.com and call them at 800-599-5526. In reality, I never had a Wells Fargo account and I never done business with these fraudsters and harassers. Not now, not ever. It was a robocall and a scammer misusing a toll-free phone number so that he/she can try to scam me. I reported robocalls and scammers that spoofed random US and local 865 phone numbers claiming to be well known businesses to the Federal Trade Commission before and my phone number is on the Tennessee and National Do Not Call Registries. I did not give them permission to call me nor have I done business with them.

- LynnThe number is a Wells Fargo number, but I know it’s a scam because I don’t have an account with Wells Fargo. I didn’t answer because I didn’t recognize the number. Whoever called left a voicemail. The automated voice asked about a recent charge of about $260. It said I should press 1 if the charge was correct or 2 if incorrect. I did not indicate yes or no, just listened to the rest of the voicemail and disconnected from the voicemail. The real kicker: The call came at 3:45 am.

- IrvSame experience as Lynn. I didn't answer. Automated voice mail asked about a charge at Best Buy. I don't have a Wells Fargo account. Call came at 6:22 am on Sunday morning.
