- Ryan replies to RyanI received a response via the BBB to my formal complaint. Here's my initial complaint, the BBB's log, DRS' response, and my response of NOT ACCEPTING the company's response.
My complaint as submitted 8/25/2008:
"On August 1, 2008 I received a phone call from DRS called ID showed (800)886-8088. No message was left, so I called back to see what it was regarding. I called back from my work line and the automated system said "Dynamic Recovery Services" and gave me an option to speak with the operator. I explained that I had gotten a call from this number and she transferred me to some lady who would only tell me who the company's name and not what they do. When I asked what they did, she said that she's not allowed to give that information out. Hearing the name I asked if they were a repo company and she said that they "recover" and would not fully divulge what they were calling me about. I gave her my name and number and what do you know? I don't come up in the system. She said that the auto-dialer would have left me a message, but wait I told her that was my cell phone. I asked that I not be called again. I received another call today, August 25, 2008 and I asked to be removed. I spoke with Walter who said that he couldn't find me in the system. I explained this is my cell phone (again) and that I'd like to not be contacted anymore."
My desired action: "I want the system completely swept for my cell phone # "xxx-xxx-xxxx" removed entirely."

DRS' response: "We have identitified the phone number and it has been deleted from our system. There was no way that we could have identified that it was a brand new number that for [Ryan]. We apologize for any inconveniences and will not attempt any other contacts to that number."
Did I accept the Response to the Business? "No."
My response back: "I gave DRS my phone number the first time contacted to be removed as it was a wrong number. It didn't show up in their system. I was called again and for a second time gave DRS my phone number to have it removed. DRS' response, 'There was no way that we could have identified that it was a brand new number that for [Ryan]' is unacceptable.
Now, '[they] have identified the phone number and it has been deleted from [their] system' after I contact the Better Business Bureau?
I am confused as to why they couldn't have searched for the phone number in the beginning? The company should have a way to search the system for a phone number, i.e., not just a name, account number, etc. This shouldn't have gone this far and should have been resolved the first time I contacted the company as it would make good business practice."
Please note, I have hidden both my number and last name (replaced with first) for identity security reasons.

My father passed away this year and he is calling in reference to one of his debts from my dad's law practice, but we worked everything out with company themselves. I am not calling this number back. I think I might change my number too.
- why meguy named Alexander Sadata(sp) keeps calling but doesnt' give the company name, what debt is for or amount. just keeps leaving messages stating that he needs to talk to me or my attorney. Says he knows where i work and will call them next for payroll info. Says that he will collect on this bill without my help. Don't know why he is calling or what debt he thinks i owe for. but i am not going to ever answer him or call him back. I think this is a scam just to get money out of me or to try and steal my idenity.

- frustratedCaller completely went off her rocker. Said her name was Mary and would not even let me talk. Tried to get her to talk normal she hung up on me. Called me over and over and called a family members house where I do not reside. When I told her not to call them she said I needed to stop harassing her?!

- leslieCalled this morning at 10:42 am asking for anyone from here to call them back. Left no name, who they were with, no reason why we should call them back, just said they were trying to get a hold of someone here. Good luck getting anyone from here to call back lady.
- Hosed MobileKeith Daniels called representing himself as an attorney. Then called another number to tell me he's with Wells Fargo but left a number to call back that has nothing to do with Wells Fargo. Wanted to advise me that he's going to file a lawsuite against me and put a lein against my current home. Go for it Keith. Best wishes to you and your Civil Code violating company. C U in Court.

- LAURA replies to ZMan| 28 repliesFirst of all, I am so sick and tired of people who do not pay their bills complaining about the process that companies have to get their money. PAY YOUR BILLS!! Changing your number will not change the fact that you are a terrible individual who does not take care of business and the people who suffer are those who pay their bills and have to pay highter rates and premiums due to your DEBT!! THIS IS THE REASON FOR THE ECONOMY GOING BACK NOW!! IF YOU GOT LAID OFF OR HAVE A CHANGE IN YOUR INCOME..IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CONTACT YOUR CREDITORS AND ADVISE THEM AND TRY TO WORK SOMETHING OUT...KEEP DODGING COLLECTORS AND NEXT YOU WILL DEAL WITH THE COURTS AT A HIGHER COST TO YOU!!!
- Laura replies to Michelle| 9 repliesthat is incorrect. this is not harrassment. It has intent. to collect a debt. Stop getting credit that you cannot afford...and you own a business. I hope they pay like you pay your creditors. Then you won't be in business for long.
- Laura replies to hopefully| 4 repliesdon't blame collectors for your relatives and friends putting your information down on applications as references for contact in case they default. That is the reason that companies get references, so contact someone who will be able to get in touch with the applicant. Tell them "No" next time. Call the sheriff and look stupid. Collectors are looking at the contracts and applications and calling the numbers that were given.
- Laura replies to Ryan| 1 replyIf you never tell the company that they are calling your cell phone number, they are not responsible. Answer the phone and let them know it is a wrong number.
- Laura replies to Tanya| 3 repliesStop running. Pay your bill. You stole from a finance company. You are in debt. Pay your bill. If you are in collections, you have owed this for a while.
- Alfalfa replies to LauraLaura--
The collection of an alledged debt is a civil and NOT a criminal matter, as you have implied.
Owing a debt is one thing...but stealing is another.
Have a nice day! - Homer replies to LauraConstantly aclling someone that IS NOT THE DEBTOR certainly IS harassment.
Go read the FDCPA loser. - Homer replies to Laura| 1 replyPeople don't have to be down as 'references' for you slug companies to do a skip trace so you can harass whoever you find. You are a liar. Constant calls to anyone BUT the debtor IS HARASSMENT. Go read the FDCPA as you seem to b=need a refresher - not that you've read it at all anyway. If you are so on the up and up, why are you not telling these people who are not the debtor that they can sent a cease communications letter certifed mail, return receipt requested, to stop the unwanted calls as per the FDCPA?
- Homer replies to LauraHow did you get someone who does not owe a debt's cell number to begin with sluggo? He DID call and told your representative it was not a valid number for you to be calling - TWICE. You people are proven [***].
- Homer replies to LauraWhy couldn;t your compamy just validate the debt if it really is legit? loser. If you people didn't constant break the FDCPA, you'd probably get some sort of cooperation from people who really do owe money that can be proven.
- Homer replies to LAURAStop harassing people and go read the FDCPA for once.
- Economics 101 replies to LAURASo you're saying that GM, Ford, Chrysler, Honda, and Toyota are all circling the bowl because Joe Consumer is late on his mastercard payment?
