This number has left me a voice mail message every night for at least 2 months at 8:00 pm at WORK, not at my home phone.  It leaves a recording: press 1 for English press 2 for Spanish.  I check it the next morning and it has always been the same message.  Whenever I do call them back, nothing happens, it just keeps ringing and ringing.

These guys leave a msg once in awhile. They're looking for someone with my last name. Like there aren't  millions with my last name. I never pick up. Let them waste their time calling me. I never acknowledge calls like this. I screen calls using msg machine. And file complaints with donotcall.gov  I'm sure these guys buy up old accts other collection agencies gave up on. A few cents on the dollar. While they're wasting time with my phone I don't answer, they're wasting money, not making it.

I keep getting calls from this number almost daily.  It seems like it's from a collection company.  I do not have any past due bills.  How can I get them from not calling any more.

Telephone numbers are in order.  (Area code)-(Exchange)-0000, 0001, 0002, etc.  This is how robo-calling works - they program hte area code and exchange, and the system goes down the list.  They only 'have your number' if they call you by name.

This is a pre-recorded call for someone named Justin Wilson regarding 'personal business' - it sounds like a debt collector.  For some reason, my number is popular with debt collectors - I have had a number of them, but all for different people.  I don't answer - if I don't recognize the number, I let it go to the answering machine.

I was contacted too. But leaving messages here accomplishes nothing. It's like getting emails complaining about government or individuals or something else, and you should forward it to everyone you know. What the hell does that do?
When I get them I respond saying not to send me anymore, just get off your ass, get involved and DO something about it.

I get calls from this number under "Penn Credit" and as "Unknown" twice a day every day including Sundays and holidays. They leave no message.  I have no idea why they are contacting me, I have no outstanding credit issues with anyone. This company has a high rate of consumer complaints against it.

Anyone being barraged by phone calls from Penn Credit should consider a cease and desist letter.  Also, if they are claiming a debt, demand a debt validation letter be sent to you by US mail.  E-mail no good.

PENN CREDIT AND COLLECTIONS ALSO GOES BY PENN CREDIT CORPORATION.
Alternate Business names:  C.C.C., CENTRAL CREDIT CONTROL, DEGARCIA, DONALD C. DONAGHER, JR.
They are known to be rude (especially someone named Jennifer who lies as well), and to attempt to collect debts after they were asked to validate them but did not.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

***A company must be licensed in their state as well as the one they are trying to collect in if two different states are involved.

    Some Tips:
    *Keep all messages
*Take a picture of your Caller ID
*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time, date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.
