I don't know who this is but, when you call the number back, you have the option of either pressing '1' for customer service or '2' for the operator.  No matter which one you press, you still get no information as to what company you are calling and are sent immediately to voice mail.

An alternative natural gas supplier.  May be the one mentioned above, "Volunteer Energy Service" or something similar.
I asked if they had heard of the do not call list.
They said, "Oh, are you on it"?   I said that I had been for several years, and they had better start checking it more carefully, and to remove me from their list.
I've had other calls from this number from other telemarketers, also.

They claimed to be in association with my power company and wanted me to provide them with my account number on my bill so they could lower my power rates.  Sounded like a scam so I called my power company and Delmarva had never heard of these folks.  Word of advice: People calling on behalf of your power company would already KNOW your account number! I just pray you're not reading this too late.

These people keep calling persistently!! (08/03/2007,08/08/2007,08/10/2007,08/14/2007) Because of Caller-ID I haven't bothered to actually answer the calls. The next time I will probably pick up and read them the riot act. The calls are illegal on several levels.
    1) The number is on the Do Not Call list and has been since its inception.
    2) The number they are calling is a cell phone which prohibits the company from making any type of unsolicited calls to the number.
3)I have no business relationship with them, which overrides any possible rationale for bypassing the the first two criteria.

"Jason Thomas" from "verizon" called about out "electric account".  It is a scam of some kind.  He is not with verizon.  The number is 1-800-210-9011 ext 351.  He wants to veryfy some account info and therefore needs a bunch of information from you that they should already have if they were in fact verizon.  Do not speak with this guy or anyone from the two numbers I have posted.  One that comes up on caller ID when he calls and one that he gives for you to reach him directly.  It is just some center trying to scam you out of money or worse your credit and identity.  I hope this post helps someone out.  Take Care.

Didn't answer the call but redialed the number and yes (1) for Customer Support (2) for Operator.

Asked to be placed on "DNC" but that doesn't work.  Still received calls.
No called ID information at all.

After the next call tried again and both numbers take you to a voice mail service.  No actual real person.

    Horizon - It's not a scam!!

I received a call and it turns out this is an enrollment center. The great thing about it is they get you lower Electric or Gas prices, without you ever having to switch your Utility company (which you can't do anyways). You still receive your Utility bill - only it's LOWER.

The discounts are real - I see them on my bill. This is coming at a good time because BG&E increased their rates 65% this year!

Apparently after some laws were passed to get rid of a monopoly on Electric and Gas, you now have suppliers who can supply you through your utility company. The utility company only makes $ off of the delivery portion of your bill and by law have to charge you exactly what they get the gas or electric at - on the Open Market. This is creating competition and bringing the prices down.

Who remembers when the big Bell telephone company got broken up to get rid of a monopoly? Well, this is very similar.

So, I am a very happy customer. And, by the way, if someone is saying they are posing as the Utility - that's not true - it's just most of you don't know what's happening. - Don't pass up on a beautiful savings just because you don't know - it's on the Public Utility Commissions website!

    Customer Choice program
Do an internet search under "Customer Choice program" - you'll get the real data. It's a real program offered by your State Public Utility Commission.

Very mad that Delmarva is pretending to not know about this!

Wow - go to the Public Utlity Commission website and search Customer Choice Program. The fact that Delmarva is not telling you about this is unbelievable!

A law was passed getting rid of a monopoly on the price of gas.

Delmarva only delivers to you - they purchase gas on the open market.

You are being called by a supplier who is trying to get you enrolled in a program called the "Customer Choice Program" You do get a savings when you enroll and you continue to get one bill from Delmarva.

I am totally SHOCKED that someone from Delmarva claimed to have never heard of this - that's not OK!

Check out what the Utility Company says replies to Allyson

Check this out - this is on the Utility company's website.

    It's called Customer Choice Program.

    http://www.delmarva.com/home/choice/md/how/

They don't claim whether or not you will see a savings - but if you have a Supplier calling you and telling you that you will get one, just know that you go through a 2minute recording when you enroll at the end of your call, which confirms this.

They are regulated by the PUC so can't promise you better rates unless they are going to give you that.

I enrolled with Horizon Power and am seeing a good savings every month - last year Delmarva unfroze and raised rates by 35% - so this is helping to counteract that.

Its not a scam. First off they did not say they are from your power company. They are a supplier of energy in your power companies customer choice program. Also if you called the power company and they said they have never heard about this then the person you spoke to is an idiot. The info is sent to you in their own bill. Also its on the power companies own website! You should call the power company and ask them why is it on thier website if they have never heard about it? Last, what kind of scam can someone pull by getting your energy account number....... PAY YOUR BILL?
