- MaryI had a similar situation happen when I tried to log into my bank of america account and it stated that I needed a code. (the password was ok). I followed the instructions got the email that looked a little "weird" but used the code to access my account online. It then asked for my pin number which i thought was strange but I was able to access my account. I followed up with Bank of america with a phone call and they verified it was legit. Here are the numbers.

- Sister ZahraaI got a text message on my cell phone about a code and to call this number if I didn't request it. I do have a BOA account. When I called the line was busy so suspected I something was not right.
- jamesDid use the BoA and I did receive a pass number, but not from 800 933 6262. Within 2 minutes 800 933 6262 called me. This number is the technical groups phone number from BoA. This is the second time they have called back after I get the pass number. It is not real and I do not have a technical problem. This is just a scam.

- LMText from phone number 800-933-6262 on 7/27/2019 stating "the code you requested is xxxxxx. Don't share it; we won't call and ask for it. Call 800-933-6262 if you didn't request it." This didn't sound right, so I looked this number up online, which IS a number to Bank of America, but also found all the comments from people that this is a scam. Just decided to report it.

- BarbaraYesterday I got the "Security Alert" e-mail message, just like the one in one of the above messages. It was ostensibly from the Bank of America. I did not request a code. Then today I got another message asking me to rate my recent call experience with JOHN. I made no call; I talked to no "JOHN". This is some kind of scam.

- Janice Rowe| 2 repliesI had a pop up from Windows Support on my computer stating that my computer was blocked and computer had been hacked. I was to call Windows support the number was the legitimate number for Windows Support (??????) They had concerns about identity theft ; I asked if it was a scam. Assured me it wasn't. He had me turn off all phones and computers except mine. He had me run different programs to "unblock "my computer. He installed Advanced password manager software. Then would call me back. The number registered as spam risk. I didn't answer it. A chat box pop up telling me to answer his call. I didn't. He then told me to tell my husband something in a foreign language. I gave no reply and uninstalled all apps from today. I will take to computer store to check out.
- BigA replies to Janice Rowe| 1 replyYou seriously thought they would tell you the truth when you asked if it was a scam? If they installed password manager then they have all your user names and passwords, banking information, contacts, and anything else worthwhile on that computer. You will need to change everything and not from that computer. All you needed to do was to shut the computer off, clear out the cache, cookies, and history and you would have been fine. While at the computer store have them install and ad blocker and tell you how to use it. Then you will never see one of those pop ups again. Also, be aware that they will try to con you again, probably with the fake refund scam.
- Kat* replies to BigA"You seriously thought they would tell you the truth when you asked if it was a scam?" Wait - all criminals aren't honest? They won't tell you when they're trying to scam you? What a world we live it if the crooks aren't honest. :-)

- Don'tCallMeI received a text with a code urging me to use this code within 10 minutes and if I didn't request the code to call 800-933-6262. NOT sure why BOA would be sending me this message as I have never had an account with them. Seriously folks? Now that scammers have the ability to spoof any number, why would I bother calling them to get a runaround about an account that I don't have?
