- Tygerkat replies to Olga VillarrealWhy didn't you call a known Bank of America number, such as the one on the back of your card or on their official website?
- WI had received an email stating, "... your Bank of America Online ID was looked up." This is a scam!! Delete this email and BLOCK IT!!!!!!!!!
- Caller: ?
- GBJohnNo email, but a letter that looks "official" with the same 800 number to call. Says they can't send me emails because my inbox is either full or the address is wrong. Pure BS cuz I do get BoA's messages.

- I’m a lady….I received 5 email from BOA, stating “my new account is ready for use” and the other 4 emails is verification. 1st, I never use my non-personal email for any type of business. Ex: ladyme81@whatever.com. In my business world I use my name (janedoe@whatever.com ) that’s how I know that is fake/scam.
Btw/ I never had an account at BOA (SMH)- Caller: Email
- Mom2022I received and 2 emails! 1 stating that I needed to verify my email with a link for my new account. The other authorizing the creation of a new account and listing the last six digits of the account number (also including a link). Only the 1st email listed 800.933.6262 as the contact number. It looked real. I called the number. It sounded real - hold time and everything. I spoke to a lady and gave her last 4 #s of SS and she pulled up my name and email address and stated that she would close the account as fraudulent. She sent another email with a link to Identity Theft Recovery. I did not click ANY links. I found the same sites online as others with some saying it is a fraud and others not. I found the number listed on a promo contact sheet from the BofA website. I received another confirming account email 40 min later and this time I called the number listed on the main site (800.432.1000). They confirmed the confirmation number of the fraud account cancellation that the 1st woman gave me at the 800.933.6262. They said the account is on the process of closing.
In summary the number is apparently legit but accounts are getting created fraudulently! Close those accounts and secure your info.- Caller: Bank of America
- Call type: Valid
- RebeccaReceived the five emails saying that I had an account opened in my name. I did not approve this so I called the number. First person I talked to said she would put a stop on it and she would pass me to another department. I held on the line one hour and 30 minutes listening to music and recording. Just called the number online and they said they would call be returned when available. Much better than waiting, yet now I wonder if that first one was even legit
- Caller: BOS
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- JennaI got an email saying an account had been opened in my name and I should call to speak to someone. It actually sounded legit until they immediately asked for my ssn. I told him no and he told me they couldn’t help me until I gave it to him so I hung up.

- jojo| 1 replyThey left a message stating that they were "Bank of America" and they were calling about a code I had requested. I have never had any financial relationship with Bank of America, so I certainly did not request any code. Have had this telephone number for >40 years, so not a "wrong number".
- Caller: caller ID reads "Toll Free Number"
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- Tygerkat replies to jojoOf course it could be a wrong number. Someone might have transposed a digit when entering it or dialled your number by mistake.

- Tygerkat replies to Ray| 1 replyThen why are you here? There is no logical reason for you to look up the phone number since you already know who called you.
