- Ryan Fitzpatrick| 5 repliesAbout 3 months ago I got a voicemail from "Mr. Rubio" saying that I was suspected of committing fraud using 2 cc #'s. Never called back, never heard anything more from them until the other day I got the same exact voicemail from the same guy making the same exact claim.

- BigA replies to Ryan Fitzpatrick| 4 repliesIf you had committed credit card fraud, law enforcement would be knocking at your door, not some scummy, lolife crook pretending to be a debt collector. This is an extremely shady outfit. Read the following and make sue you follow up with complaints to the listed agencies:
SPECTRUM BILLING SERVICES AKA PREMIUM BILLING SERVICES AKA FRONTIER BILLING SERVICES AKA CARDHOLDER SERVICES AKA HEAT MAGAZINE

Web site looks real cheesy and lists them in LA: https://spectrumbilling.virtualcollector.net/Contact.aspx
BBB gives them no rating with 40 complaints and 1 negative review but strangely lists them as an eviction service: http://www.bbb.org/losangelessiliconvalley/bu ... les-ca-13130417
BBB gives Heat Magazine a B- with 42 complaints: http://www.bbb.org/losangelessiliconvalley/bu ... les-ca-13037580
I can’t find a company registration anywhere which would mean that they are not legally allowed to conduct business. From the looks of it they are operating under a ton of names in order to avoid detection. However they are using a PO Box which means they had to provide ID to open it and the USPS will release the information when served with a subpoena.
The address seems to come back to several organizations including an adult magazine:

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

- BigA replies to JoeIllegal collection attempt, which is why you should take the time to read my other post. Then do this:
You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested). Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it. Make a notion of that fact at the bottom of the letter. You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to. Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment. If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it. Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front): http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

- VickyThey called my brother twice asking for a john and the third time they called asking for me by full name he said he didn't know who I was and they rudely answerd saying they knew that he knew who I was. They then told him I owed them money?? The only money I owe is on my car which I have always payed on time or early. My question is if I truly owed them or anyone money then why are they calling him and not me? And they only call and have never sent any bills or notices by mail. I'm going to just block their number and if by the off chance I do owe money then they can find my address and send me mate collection notice that way.
- Caller: Spectrum
- LYNNThat Mr. Rubio is all over the place. I didn't answer this call but I see others did and it was him. And it is all sorts of different things they are trying to tell people they owe for. Mr. Rubio did call me today, using a number that had the area code of my area but I didn't answer that either. Why can't the gov't. do something about this place?

- ChrisThese guys are trouble. Same issue with them trying to get a debt of $40 ... received a letter that my credit card was being credited for $40.30. The last 4 digits did not match any of my cards, so I called to find out what was going on. An extremely rude man said that he was actually doing a fraud investigation and would press charges if this wasn't taken care of... told him never to call back... received a call from a woman a few days later and she said same thing. Told her to never call back too...
