I got an empty call from them.  Just like a lot of the people here.  I got a Call Blocker program for my Cell    Phone.  I added this bunch to my list.  The phone doesn't ring or makes a tiny beep.  Saves a lot of effort.

I have had multiple calls from this number.  I never answer any!!!

I get calls from this number every day!  Nobody leaves any messages and the caller ID besides the number says 'Pub Interest..."

Contacting the Utah BBB has my number being removed according to the correspondence just sent me by the BBB.  The Utah BBB expedited the complaint and the company responded.  They stated they are hired by various agencies I have donated to and that is how they received my information and apologized for any inconvenience - so they are legitimate apparently.  I am on the government "do not call list" and have been since their beginning and prevented many solicitors but there are loopholes for some to continue, knowing this I will never donate to any organization or party again as these calls were very difficult to stop ... if they do and if they do not ... I will contact the Utah BBB again.  Maybe if all of us let the Utah BBB know our complaints these companies will be dissolved - but then a lot more folks will be unemployed ... a catch 22 situation.

AOPA for sure.  My membership expired and now they call nonstop.  I'm done with AOPA.  Same thing happened last year but I renewed.  Did not realize it was AOPA

Yes, it is annoying.   They've called EVERY DAY for the past 9 days and left messages, with only their number on the tape, so I left a return message for them to take us off their $#%^&%#$ list.   LIt's a supposed charity -- a for profit firm which "retains" anywhere from 25-50% of what they collect.  

Let's hope it works and the annoying messages stop.

Thanks...this reply and comments to it were very helpful - and still useful in 2010!  I've given to more than one of the organizations on their list, but don't appreciate the fake "courtesy call" approach, so will ignore them.

At least one call a day for weeks.  I never answer.

For me, it was a call from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee raising funds for the election.  They had my correct info, but of course someone could have lifted that from FEC contribution filings.  I told them to mail me a pledge card.

AOPA Calls me every day except for sundays from this number to my cell phone promptly between 6-6:30.  Amazingly annoying.   Don't get me wrong, I like AOPA.  I hate their renewal tactics.  My membership isn't due for renewal for another 45 days.  It takes two minutes to renew online.  I can do it there, trust me I'm an adult, I'm a pilot, no need to go chasing me for 10 weeks to renew - that's called my naggy ex-wife and why she's an ex.

They keep calling at all hours!  I am on a DO NOT CALL LIST!

I live in Southern California.  Two phone calls in less than 18 hours--no messages.  Caller ID shows Public Interest Company.

Obviously these people have been harassing people for years since the comments for this number cover more than three years.

You do realize there is an opt out feature, right?

This is the 3rd day in a row I received a hang-up call from this number after just 2 rings!  I always check caller ID as I'm answering and each time it was this number... 801-484-1107 shown as PUB INTEREST CO.

There's no message, no recording, no person, just nothing at the other end except twice when I actually hear the hang-up "click."

Since they haven't identified themselves as any legitimate caller I'm reporting the number to the DO NOT CALL Registry at this link:

I hope somebody, someday can stop all the annoying calls.  I had great hopes when I put our phone on the Do Not Call List.  I've been quite disappointed!

P.S.  I forgot to mention there IS a comment area like this one within the complaint form where you can describe any info about the call, the number of times called, who you talked to (if any), etc.

It asks for YOUR number first, when the call came, and THEN the caller's number and name.  It also asks for your info (optional, I think) and your comments about the call.

These guys have been calling every day for 2 months.   When called back, they hang up before you can say  :No. Put me on the do not call list.    I contacted World Wildlife Fund and they said they put me on the do not call list but I am still getting calls.
