I bought a used tmobile phone, this is a number for the voice mail on the phone. how can i get it off and use my own number? this is too funny AND I have had this phone for a year or more but it never worked except on wifi to play games and take photos. so some of these people might be making it up or the number was transfered to another person a long time ago. good luck everyone, it wasn't me and I don't have T Mobile, never did.

Multiple voice messages left on my phone at odd times like 01:37am, phone won't ring, it just displays new voicemail message. Also my voicemail became configured to display this number as my voicemail AND I noticed it's now configured to forward voicemail ro this same number
1-805-637-7243. This is shady as HELL!!! If I call this number from my phone it's asks for "mailbox number you are trying to reach."

No one here can do that.  However you can invest in a call blocker.  They are for sale on Amazon for about $60.00

[***]! This is for sure a scam! It's NO coincidence so many of us are getting messages at odd hours, silenced calls, and messages obviously not for us- I've experienced having to hear breathing on the phone, pocket dialed sounding type messages and etc.  No! This is ridiculous for ANY of us experiencing this [***]  (excuse my French) to dismiss this as a suttle error or mishap. Call me paranoid!! Try already being a victim of identity theft and blame me.
This kinda crap shouldn't be ignored.

Maybe you need to stop assuming and realize it's NOT insufficient knowledge of how to use this obvious ,- keyword "backdoor" number!  We're getting harassed! Someone is obviously spoofing this also KEYWORD *insecure* vm retrieval storage number. Phone service is in on this crap, it doesn't allow phones to disable this  suddenly routed backdoor number, not even with factory codes.
Please note: Metro Piece of [***] carrier, and you stupid ass suspicious lady on a complaint tread that's all "knowledge" (sarcasm) about this number and it's usage.
Those of us harassed and annoyed quickly realized this crap backdoor number is not secure because   1. It's forwarding our once password protected vm to a (again) BACKDOOR carrier that compromises OUR messages. The claimed purpose that I just read on internet under the internet that's it's to accelerate our phones and blah blah blah... Is by far not only stupid, but greatly subject of ridicule  because it really translates to It becoming cheaper for phone service carrier not to host our regular vm, caring less about customers,  subjecting our info for pepeople to fish (which I confirmed btw) My settings altering, excessive keyboard usAge that nearly drained battery because keyboard grants uploaded of EVERYTHING we type! And on top of it knowing about this and not giving a hoot to quickly address such intrussion AND locking us to not even be able to opt out of receiving voicemails.,
    ~Angry deep breath
#2, We OBVIOUSLY already have proof this backdoor data is insecure,  and it's happening to us as we speak from  this crap.
Why Would we still want to receive vm that bounces off to where it bo doubt gets intercepted obviously easier??? WTF?!
Also, it's not like this is new, I've observed that people have been complaining for about a year, I just not too long ago got routed to this Forwarded vm bouncing crap, so US, the customers,  have been getting transferred over in batches for service with our personal and potentially  confidential information to this weaker less secure crap KNOWNGLY. Kindly exit stage left with your rationalization that really only caters to YOU by trying to mAke it sound like you've improved our service. And you too suspicious "knowledgeable" lady trying to make us feel like we're stupid.,#Fail, not stupid because we accepted your dumb ass put down, stupid for having this carrier.

This is one of the numbers I get a call from and they hang up, I got call block on my phone and it is free as it works wonders.
I do not answer the phone if the number shows up unknown or even if the number has a name behind it, If I do not know them for any reason I do not respond, My number is on the do not call list, it does not seem to help much. I get other calls claiming I owe this or that company and if I do not pay the money owed they are going to send me to jail. YEA RIGHT, Like I am going to just give them a credit card number on their say so. And the calls normally come from some kind of pay day loan company.

Well atleast 2 people, a man and a woman are having fun at our expense. I purchased two Nokia Lumina phones for my 28 year old daughter and I July 2nd. I noticed the 1-805-637-7343 number as our default voicemail numbers right away. I became suspicious because MetroPCS requires that you call your own number and input the last 4 digits of your telephone number by default in order to set up your voicemail. I called the default number to see what would happen and both of our voicemails were already set up and with no password. A couple of weeks later I called my own number to access mu voicemail and it wanted my password. My daughter had the same problem. We were baffled for a minute and then put in the last 4 digits of our phone numbers and got our messages. We set up new passwords and called the default phone number for voicemail messages. It took both my daughter and I straight in to our voicemail inboxes WITHOUT a password. We called our phone numbers right after this happened and were asked for a password. I figured out that I can turn off the default voicemail number and replace it with my number and use visual voicemail and/or just dial my own number from the key pap and access my non-tampered with voicemail box. I hope the apathetic dealers representing MetroPCS, like the one in Richardson, TX that talked me in to a family plan with my daughter and then proceeded to charge me $65.00 more than he said the total bill would be. A $140..00 charge became $225.00. Thank God I have call block. Whenever they called me I heard a humming machine sound on the background. When I call this number from my landline snd *67 my number I get a guy named Jeff Snyder's voicemail message. Once a woman answered the phone and I said, "Whose does this number belong to?" and she replied Judge Jeff Snyder".  There is something rotten in Denmark, that's for sure! Hopefully these mean, rotten hackers will choke and die.

This is T-mobile's backdoor voicemail access.

State welfare agency workers and other petty bureuacrats love these backdoor voicemail numbers - they use this to leave voicemails on applicants' phones without ringing their phone. They then record multiple  attempts to reach the client. Client calls back but of course gives up after being on hold for 2 hours, because you can't easily reach them, and they know it.

This is big trick, well-known by nasty bureaucrats who blow off clients to deal with their heavy work load.

To deal with this state and federal quality control people should audit outgoing call lists, searching for the backdoor voicemail numbers for all the major carriers.

It's TMobile voice message system. There's an option for customers to leave a voice mail to voice mail message. So it's someone you might know trying to leave you a message via your voice mail. I tried calling my voice mail to check my messages and it automatically routes me to the +1 (805) 637-7243 Northern Los Angeles number.

so i've read the posts on the previous page and i realized after i looked up the number in my phone that it was t-mobile's voicemail. which would explain the white noise and no one speaking bc some people forget to hang up and they just have their silence and disappointment recorded

Actually you might be using tmobile's network. From wikipedia: The TracFone-branded service allows a customer to buy airtime units to use on selected digital phones by Kyocera, LG, Motorola, and Samsung. Which handset the user purchases decides what type of network the service uses and thus the coverage map. Phone models utilizing the Verizon or Sprint CDMA network have the letter C in the model name, while phones using the GSM network have the letter G.

this is not TMobile anymore it now says GE Capital that was bought by Synchrony Bank.  I do not owe them any money and do not want an account with them so I really don't know why they would be robo calling me.  It has to be a scam so when I see the name and number it goes right to message but they don't leave one.  BY THE WAY THIS IS DONE ON MY T MOBILE CELL PHONE.  I think this is a scam
