Got hold of my cell, and asked for someone.  I just said "hello", "hello".. "hello"..  He hang up.

Called our DNC registered landline on 06/16/2014 @ 02:50 PM from Tampa, FL. This POS scammer (L & J Bay Area Holdings) never leaves a message and has been calling for months.

Ditto above experiences.  No response when call answered.

How did you block them? They keep calling me too. Please let me know. Thank you!  They called 8:48 AM on my only day off, when I can relax and sleep in. Very Angry with them!

Definitely an unethical telemarketer. My number has been listed on donotcall.gov for a very long time and I verify it once in a while. This company asked for a person by last name, first name order, told them they could talk to me. In a familiar tone of voice they said they needed to talk to our lastname (our last name sounds like a first name), I said "go ahead", they asked for last name again. I said "please justs tell me what this is about". They said "an investment holding" I said, "yes?" (Knowing it was a telemarketer all along, but curious), they asked for lastname firstname again, I said I can get a message to them but needed to know what exactly it was about. Then they hung up without another word.

This board is simply a sounding board for people to vent and inform others of scam telemarketing calls they receive.  There is no authority associated with the 800notes site to stop these callers.  In order for people to collectively stop these type calls they must act together - and TAKE ACTION!  It doesn’t do any good to complain about a caller on this board unless you then take the next step and do something about it!  The caller ID number is usually a ‘Spoof Number” – A Fake!  Never, never, ever engage the caller or call back the number.  The false robocallers will then capture your number as a ‘live one’ and use it over and over and sell it to other scammers.  The same goes if it prompts you to ‘press a key’ to ‘opt out’  of their calling lists, or be transferred to someone, as this will only ‘log’ your number as a working one and make it ripe for future calls and to be sold to other scam companies as well.
The best option is simply to hang up, keep your own list of calling numbers with dates and times and report them to the FCC below.  There is space on their complaint form to list several calling dates and times of a repeat caller.
The DO NOT CALL list is worthless, they do not act on anything, just build a database of numbers.
In order to do something to help stop these type calls, everyone - EVERYONE needs to file an online complaint directly with the FCC.  If they receive enough complaints about a particular number - they will act on it.  Do it today and pass along the info:

Yep, this is the same telemarketer/scammer as last year with a different number. Blocked again without waiting for 3 strikes rule.

Called trying to sell extended auto warranties. The agent became very rude when I explained that I do not even own a automobile that I rely on public transportation to get around town. If you aren't interested in buying a 3 year extended warranty for your new car purchase save yourself some time and don't fool with these people. I was  very nice to them and they just treated me like crap because I don't have a new car and $2500.00 to spend on an extended warranty. Believe me if I could buy a vehicle instead of riding the bus that WOULD BE MY CHOICE. God bless one and all, I know they are just trying to own a paycheck as well.

I have received several calls from this number over the last few weeks. Every time, I answer (before realizing that it is the same number as before) and there is no response.

Call on my cell phone.  I never pick it up, but this is not the number of anyone I know or have requested to call me.

I just love the BLOCK CONTACT button on the iphone!!!! I have sooo many of these pieces of [***] blocked!! it's great!

This Is the call that gets you on  the list for all the other calls  "DO NOT PICK UP" They sell your info...Bad News...

We got a telemarketing call this evening from 813-899-2012 and it may be this company but I am not sure. The company name could be L & D Marketing or L & J Marketing. I found a page at the Florida BBB site where 130 complaints for telemarketing were listed and the company clearly does not care. Their excuse to the BBB is they only call businesses and there is no DNC for businesses. Well, if you are like me you are on the DNC and not a business.

The call I got was about a "survey" and depending on your answers they try to offer you services. It's clearly a scam to get around the DNC which allows telephone surveyors, but those never try to sell you something.

So what can we do about this abuse? Simple. Sign up for the Do-Not-Call list (DNC) and then report any telemarketing or scam calls you get to the FTC at 1-888-382-1222. It only takes a couple of minutes to report them and I swear to god that while it may take a few weeks, you WILL start getting fewer of these calls. It really does work, but just not as quickly as we would like it to.

And if you want to do more, you can search for the phone number they use and post to several places so others can be warned about abusive companies. You don't have to put up with this crap, just take a little time to report them and see what happens. :-)
